Hot Cocoa, Anyone?

I must say that I hope the recipient of this card isn't afraid of mice! : )  I watercolored Henry Mouse (Whiff of Joy) with Tombow markers, and followed the Card Positioning Systems sketch for my layout. The oval is from a Tabs and Tags die set by Clear Dollar.  It is the perfect size for the Studio G sentiment .. one of my very favorites!

Have a happy day!

Using Up My Scraps

I have two cards for you today since I had time to play in my crafty corner yesterday!  How fun!   I grabbed some remnants of matching dp that I had on my desk and decided that they would be my inspiration for each card. First I made this birthday card with the Molly's Cupcake digi from Whimsy and Stars.  I colored Molly with Copics and Promarkers, and sponged around her with some Mustard ink while she was still in the Nestibilities die.  The embossed piece under her was already done and sponged, and the flowered layer was already matted, so I just cut out my kraft and text dp, layered on the backing and stamped "happy birthday" from the Vintage Picnic Basket set from PTI.

I'm entering Molly in these challenges...

Tuesday Morning Sketches - Delightfully Simple with a Kids theme
Everybody Art - Happy Birthday
Cupcake Inspirations - Photo with cupcakes and flowers and yellow and pink (although my pink turned to red!)

My second card follows the fun sketch at Card Positioning Systems, and uses one of the new sets from Clear Dollar Stamps called Ladybug Hugs.  It's colored with copics again, and just has a little bit of paper piercing, cuz my sewing machine was upstairs and I didn't want to take the time to set it up. ;-)  The sentiment is cut out with one of the tags from the Tabs and Tags dies that I just love.  I'm going to enter it in the Stamp With Fun - spring challenge, too.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Blessings!

A Doozy of a Sketch!!

Sweet n Sassy is the sponsor for the Card Positioning Systems sketch challenge this week and wow! This sketch was a doozy!! See???

I pulled out my newly released clear set called A Cocoa Kind of Christmas for the sentiment, and used the Cheese for Cocoa digi as well. I actually colored this with copics from the class boxes at Copic certification a few weekends ago, so I'm not exactly sure of the colors. I'm sure that they are written down somewhere, cuz I loved the color combo!! :-)

Thanks for dropping by today. Be sure to stop by the CPS blog to get lots and lots of inspiration!!

Blessings!

BellaRiffic Bling

It's BellaRiffic Friday and today's challenge was to use "bling". Bling isn't really my signature move, but I did manage a few rows of pearls, and if you make the picture bigger, you might see the Stardust pen that I used on Miss BittyBloom's skirt to make it glitter. :-) This fun paper and ribbon is from the package of challenge candy that I got from Tuesday Morning Sketches, for winning the monthly challenge in July. What a nice treat!!

My sketch for today's card is from Card Positioning Systems, and since it is a fall card without a sentiment it works for the OWH Midweek Throwdown challenge as well. :-) Oh! I have to show you my new organizational tool for keeping track of the challenges I like! I'm not one to make a card and then find all the challenges that they fit. I really like to pick a sketch, a theme, and maybe some colors or a technique as I start to make a card. It really helps my mojo. :-)

So here's a peek at the page(s) that I made...

The bottom page that you just see a little of, has a list of all the challenges I check. Next to the name I write the theme or if it's a sketch. I can also write who it sponsoring it (and if it's a *good* sponsor, I highlight it and it becomes a "must do". LOL!) The top sheet has a verse to remind me that any artistic work I may do is a gift from God. Then I have boxes to mark down sketches, with a little box in the corner to check if I complete it. There's even a list of the days of the week, so I know when it is expired. It really is helping me combine challenges for inspiration, rather than making a card and then looking for where it will fit.

Sorry so long today! Thanks for stopping by!

Blessings!

Autumn Trust

I made a quick card last night, just for fun. It seems that I don't have much time to stamp many cards that aren't design team work. I think I might have to change that! This card was made for one of the challenges on Stamp TV for those of us who weren't able to go to CHA. The challenge was to use an image or sentiment upside down or on its side. I chose to use the pumpkin from GKD Whimsical Autumn and the verse from Flowers for Daisy, and I followed the sketch from CardPositioning Systems. The pumpkin is colored with Copics and popped up but other than that, it's pretty straightforward!

Thanks for stopping by. I hope that you have a lovely weekend!

Blessings!

Jesus is Born!

I got a fun box filled with goodies from Paper Garden Projects yesterday, and thought that this intricate manger scene would be a perfect image to use with the Card Positioning Systems sketch for this week. I know that this isn't my usual open line type colored image, and I must admit that I struggled some!! I stamped the "Manger" stamp by Impression Obsession twice in Ballet Blue ink onto some Nautical Blue Medium cardstock and cut it out. Then I stamped the image in Black ink the third time and cut out and watercolored a focal image. I used the Paisley CB folder on the bottom of the brown cardstock, distressed the edges, and layered it all on a mustard card base. The sentiment is from Clear Dollar's Mini Christmas Scriptures.

Be sure to check out all the specials going on at Paper Garden right now!

Weekend Color Challenge

Isn't this a fun clean & simple sketch? It's from the Card Positioning Systems blog for this week. I used the colors from the Clear Dollar Stamp Weekly Color Challenge and the set "Genuine Love". I saw the stitching on the middle border idea on Nichole Heady's blog and thought it was a great idea. It makes it so pretty! Thanks Nichole!

CPS118 - Puppy Love

I needed a jumpstart to my cardmaking, since I hadn't done any over the weekend, so I stopped by the Card Positioning System blog to check out the sketch of the week.  My card features a digistamp from Digital Stamp Oasis, some words from Clear Dollar Stamps and some Basic Grey fibers.  I never know what to do with fibers, but they're kind of ... umm... messsy.  Something little boys seem to like!

I have a pile of stamps here to play with, so hopefully my creative juices will start flowing and I'll be able to make a few cards.  Father's Day ones in particular!!

Thanks for stopping by!  Tricia
