Tea Cups and Flowers

Hello again!  I printed out a page of my favorite digis the other day and I'm working through them when I have free minutes here and there.  Today's card is a combination of a Whimsy and Stars digital image and a Scripture verse from a set by Clear Dollar Stamps.  I followed the colors over at Sunday Stamps. :)

Thanks for dropping by today!

Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge - Card 24

You must know that I enjoy card sketches by this time! : )  Today's card is made with a sketch from the Sweet Sunday Sketch challenge - and they are looking for a few new design team members.  Wouldn't that be fun?  Maybe you should try!

I used one of my favorite stamp sets - Lucy - from The Angel Company.  I know that they are out of business now, but you can still get this stamp as a digi from Whimsy and Stars.  Yay!

I watercolored Lucy with Tombow markers and used lots of stitching to pull my card together.  The little eyelet edging is a border punch from Michaels.  The dp is Echo Park and MME.  I'm still using scraps from my stash and it doesn't seem to be shrinking much.  That's ok, I have 76 cards to go! : )

Thanks for stopping by!

Cards 4 through 6!

Here I am again with cards 4 through 6 of the 100 cards in 100 days challenge.  I'm one card ahead... YAY!

Image:  My Favorite Things

Card 5:  A CAS card with June's Sketch for You to Try

Image: Whimsy and Stars
 Sentiment: The Angel Company

... and Card 6 following this week's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge.

Image & Sentiment:  The Angel Company
I'm finding that I really don't know what stamps and sets that I have around anymore.  When I was exclusively Stampin Up, I knew all the sets in the catalog by name... for years and years!!  Now I have no idea what I have around... like this cute sentiment I'd forgotten about!   I've gotten used to monthly releases and using only what is new or out on my desk.   I'm thinking some stamp organization might need to be part of this 100 days as well!!

Freshly Made

Hello friends!

I took a little blog sabbatical to really think through why I blogged and why I stamped, what my stamping style is and whether the time that blogging takes was worth fitting in to my schedule.  I even considered stopping stamping all together! My husband made an interesting comment when I first mentioned it to him, though ...  "If you stopped, I think you would miss it", and he was right, wise man that he is!  I've missed sharing with you all !!

I did realize some interesting things as I was reading over my first posts from this blog, and I was surprised at how far I had moved from it's original purpose, which was to show that you could make lovely cards that were still able to be mailed, and that wouldn't require you to have access to every supply available.  So when I found the Freshly Made challenge this week I knew that I had to participate.

For my card I used a sweet digi image from Whimsy and Stars that I colored with copics and cut out with a Classic Rectangle die.  The sentiment is from a Verve set called Making a Statement, and the dp is leftover from a Stella Rose and Mabelle pad by My Minds Eye.  I did pop up the main image for a little dimension and added a few pearl embellishments.

SIMPLE TIP...  Having the main image popped up gives the card a little height and will protect the pearls a little when I mail the card.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Blessings!

Sweetness!

I have a few cards that I've shared on SplitCoast that haven't made it to my blog yet.  I made this one a few days ago for a few challenges and just found out the it made the Fab 4 at Play Date Cafe.  What an honor!!  You can find this sweet little image at Whimsy and Stars.  So cute and easy to color!   The sentiment is from a Sweet n Sassy Christmas set.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

New Image!

I'm sneaking in under the wire for the Play Date Cafe color challenge using this sweet little angel that will be released tomorrow at Whimsy and Stars.  My sketch is from Sweet Sunday Sketches.  I colored my little gal with Copics and then cut out just her top half with a scalloped circle nestie.  The little hearts are the "From the Heart" die from Verve and the border punch is Recollections from Michaels.  The sentiment is Flourishes.  Do you recognize that ribbon?  It's been retired from SU for years!  Yay for using your stash!!! : )

Thanks for stopping by today!

A few more cards to share!

Hello everyone!  Here are a number of cards that I've shared on SplitCoast but not here!!

First, a tag made with the giraffe from the Verve set "To the Moon" and the Santa hat from a TAC set...

Next, I was honored to be chosen as a "cut above" card on the Paper Players challenge blog with the birthday card that I made with Heather Ellis' snowman digi.  I just love coloring this digi!

Then some winter fun with Whimsy and Stars and a sentiment from Verve...

And, finally, a bright and cheery birthday card using another of my favorite Whimsy and Stars images and the Verve Small Phrases set.

Thanks for stopping by today!!! : )

Challenges & More Challenges

I don't know if I've ever made a card with so many challenges in mind!  I made myself a list of some of the challenges that I'd really like to watch over the next year.  The list at Feline Playful is overwhelming to me!  I even made myself a tracking sheet to keep track of them.  I think there are about 30 of them??  Anyway, I colored this sweet Whimsy and Stars digi (Paper Sundaes Challenge!) with copics, and then I started putting it together with the Sweet Sunday Sketch.  I used kraft, a winter image, ribbon, pearls and layers for the Catered Crop, and made a thank you card for Sentimental Sundays.  I used a punch (MS Snowflake) and a die from Clear Dollar for the Stamptacular Sunday Challenge.  Digital Tuesday wanted a digital Christmas image... check!, and Creative Card Crew was also looking for a Thankful theme.  Whew!  That's a lot of challenges for me!!!!!   : )  I only had about 20 minutes to pull the card together after I was done coloring, so it's fairly straightforward.  I do like the little tag die from CDS that I used.  It worked perfectly with the sweet sentiment from Verve.

PS...  I actually used the colors from the Paper Player challenge, but I can't enter it because you can only use 3 challenges on one of their cards.  That's ok.  It was great inspiration!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Still Seeking

Hello again!

I have another sweet little Whimsy and Stars image colored up for you today.  This time I used a sentiment from the Angel Company that fit perfectly in my oval punch. It's a sentiment that is a little overused during the holidays, I think - but it really does have a good message.  Do you consider yourself wise?  Are you truly intent on seeking Jesus Christ during this upcoming holiday season - and every day?  Are you honoring Him in your thoughts, in what you watch on TV, in the things you buy, in the way you respond to your husband and children?  Are you studying His Word to become more like Him?    Have you come to Him in repentance for your sins and accepted the forgiveness He has to offer?  Is your greatest desire to seek to glorify God?  Who knew that little sentiment could mean so much???

I can't believe that we are already in November!  I think I need to do another fall card or two before it slips away!

Blessings!

Thoughts of You

I was able to take just a few minutes to make a card, so I dug through my patterned paper and found this sheet with the pretty colors of the Ribbon Reel challenge...

and little flowers that reminded me of snowflakes.  I colored my digi image from Whimsy and Stars with Copics and then stamped a Verve sentiment and cut it out with a Labels die.  Last week on OWH TV, Sandy mentioned that there were sketches on the Stars and Stamps blog, so I picked sketch #1 and used that as my jumping off point.  I'm also entering this in the Hope You Can Cling To Challenge on SCS to use pink, ribbon, and a friendship theme.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Digi Release Day!

Yippee!  It's digi release day at Whimsy and Stars!!  Lots of cute winter and Christmas digis for your holiday card making - and don't forget the new rubber stamps!

My card today features the little gingerbread man and uses last week's Mojo Monday sketch. I colored the little gingerbread man with copics and the sentiment is from Verve.  It made me laugh. : )

Viva La Verve and some fun news!!

I always thought this little guy was a bear... but today I think he's a dog.  Maybe because the sentiment shape reminds me of a dog bone??? : )  Anyway, this is the Viva La Verve sketch, week 2.  The dp is from Michaels, and the adorable little heart is the Verve From the heart die.  The fun twirly twine is Scrapper's Floss that I got from TAC when they were still in business.

Speaking of TAC and adorable... have you seen that Mabelle from Whimsy and Stars has released five stamp sets, some of which were her designs in the last TAC catalog???  I am SO excited!!  They are so reasonably priced, too!  I love her digis, but there's nothing quite like a rubber stamp. : )  Be sure to check out her Etsy shop here!!

Harvest Time

It's Harvest Time here!  The cold nights and warm days have done their work and the crops are starting to be harvested.  I love the sunlight at this time of the year.  Around 4:30 or 5:00 it seems to touch the rooftops and trees and church spires with just a hint of glory.  It makes me long for Heaven!!!

This sweet little pilgrim couple is a digi by Whimsy and Stars, and the verse is a Verve Plain Jane.  I colored with copics and - GASP - used no designer paper!!!!

I'm entering this in the Stampin Sisters for Christ challenge (Fruit... pumpkin is fruit!), and the PaperTake Weekly Anything Goes Challenge.

Thanks for stopping by!

Thankful

The challenge at Stampin Sisters in Christ is to create a card with the word Blessings, or with an encouraging verse.  As the devotional was all about learning to see things that seem hard and realize the blessings they contain, I thought this verse would be appropriate.  This image is from Whimsy and Stars, and the verse was computer generated.  I love this paper, but it was from my stash and I honestly am not sure which company it is from.  October Afternoon maybe???

Fall Digis are Here!!!

YAY!!  The new Fall digi collection is available over at the Whimsy and Stars Etsy shop!!  I just had to celebrate by making a card with this precious little candy corn critter.  Isn't he the cutest thing ever??  I colored him with copics and then pieced together lots of scraps I found on my desk to finish up the card.  The sweet little heart is a die from Verve and the sentiment is from PTI.  Be sure to stop by the shop and see all of the digis Mabelle has for you.  You'll be glad you did!!!

Digi Sneak Peek!!

Hello friends!  It's just a few more days until the digi release at Whimsy and Stars and there are lots of new fall digis that you'll just l-o-v-e!  Here's a sneak peek!  I colored the little kitty with copics and used my Marvy punches to frame my image.  The papers are still more MME Stella Rose and Gertie and the sentiment is from the last set I got from The Angel Company.  I'm glad I chose it, but sad that I'm not able to get some of the other sets I had on my wish list. :(  Aren't you glad that Mabelle is doing digis, though?  Her images are so easy to color and use and they always make adorable cards.  Thank you, Mabelle!!

Blessings to you today!

Quick and Easy Sketch

I'm playing in a new challenge for me today using my Whimsy and Stars Birthday Turtle digi - Sketches by Carly.  Isn't the turtle cute?  I used some of the last paper pack I got from The Angel Company before they went out of business.  SO SAD!!! : (  It makes me even happier to be working with Mabelle from Whimsy and Stars, though, because she was one of my favorite illustrators in the TAC catalog!!

The little "happy birthday" is from Verve.  I'm going to wear that set out!!

Thanks for stopping by!!

Blessings!
