My Secret Snow Word is... PURE

And here is my project... a little portfolio box made with the little Skater from Eat Cake Graphics and lots of the paper and embellishments from the Frosted Winter Paper Kit - all available at Paper Garden Projects. Be sure to scroll down for the tutorial!

Here's the front of the box. I paper pieced the little girl's dress and then colored her with Copics. She's cut out with a Labels 5 die and I sponged the edges with Soft Suede. The sentiment is computer generated. The paper, brads and ribbon are from the Frosted paper kit, and the flower is from my stash.

OK... I haven't done many tutorials, so you'll have to bear with the not-s0-great pictures. LOL! Hopefully you'll get the idea and be able to whip up a few of these to package those cards or goodies you're planning to give away next Thursday!! :-)

1. Choose a piece of 8.5" x 11" cardstock for your base. I used a piece of Prism Crabapple Dark cardstock that was included in the Frosted Paper kit.

With the 11" side of the paper touching the top of your Scor-Pal and the left corner of the cardstock lined up at 1/4" (this is important!!), score your cardstock at 2 1/2", 3", 7 1/2", and 8". Then turn your cardstock so the 11" side is touching the left side of the Scor-Pal, and, with the cardstock tucked in the corner, score at 1/2", 1", 7 1/2" and 8".

If you look at the picture above, you'll see that there are three sections. You will cut on the inside score lines down the long sides until you reach the "shortest" section. (see the picture above)
Trim your bottom section as in the picture above. You should be able to click on it to see it better.

Decorate your box as desired...

Apply Scor-Tape to the outside flaps...

Add a Basic Grey magnet. I actually put the top magnet under the button on the top flap, so there was cardstock between the two halves of the magnet. It helps to get it apart later. Those magnets are strong!!

And there you have it! You can fit about 4 (lightly embellished) cards and envelopes in the box, or lots and lots of stamped images, or maybe a candy bar or two, or even a couple hot chocolate packets, mini marshmallows and some peppermint stir sticks like I did above. Yum!! :0)
