Viva La Verve - Week 5

I have really been enjoying the Viva La Verve sketches this month!  Today I chose a verse from Verve as my focal point, and surrounded it with poppies from the Poppy Birthday set.  I love the swirly circle and element from the Small Celebrations set, so I used them to add some interest to my background as well.  The paper I used today is STILL from my MME Tangerine Pad (Stamp Simply Ribbon Store).  I think I might try to get one more card out of the scraps before I call it quits.  Sigh.  I've loved that paper!!

I may be back later this afternoon with another card... I have a few to make over the weekend!

MFTWSC161 - Flowers for You

I colored the sweet PI girl from the set "Because You're Special" for this week's MFT Sketch Challenge card.  My papers are from the Kaisercraft Devonshire and MME Bluebell pads from The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store.  I love those colors!  They coordinate with the Fuse Green button and hemp cord so well!

I used a number of DieNamics to cut the different shapes...
FishTail Flag Layers - long banner
Blueprints 4 - heart
Blueprints 5 - Rounded Rectangle
Blueprints 6 - Doily Circle

I so enjoy using my Blueprints Die-Namics!!  They make card sketches so easy!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Gardening Girl Thanks

I have Stamp Simply pretties to share with you today!  I had this sweet little Gardening Girl from Deep Red that was just begging to be colored, so I went through my papers and these papers from MME Bluebell just seemed sweet and vintage-y.  I stamped image and colored her with copics before I cut her out using a Spellbinder Lg Circle die.  Then I stamped her again on a piece of Bluebell dp so I could paper piece her dress.  I added just a tiny bit of shading with a copic to give it a little more depth.  I layered my background papers on a mat of ivory cardstock before adding some lace and a strip of ivory wrinkled ribbon.  (Which ties beautifully, by the way!) After attaching my main image to a green mat, I added them to the card and attached it all to the kraft card base.  A lovely verse from Verve and a pretty bow and VOILA -  a sweet and simple card.  Honestly I think it took more time to write about it than it did to make it.  I love cards like that!!

Birthday Wishes

It's digi day today!  I needed to make a birthday card today for a little girl who is turning 6, so I thought this sweet bunny from this month's challenge at DeeDee's Digis would be perfect.  I used a sentiment from the KnK Designs set Juniper's Balloons cuz I love the font and it seemed to match the bunny.

Honestly I felt like the bunny after I completed my card this afternoon!  My stamping nook isn't heated except by a tiny space heater and it has very drafty windows..  I'm off to make a cup of coffee to warm up!

Viva La Verve - Be Strong

My final card for the night with my MME Tangerine paper is for this week's Viva La Verve sketch.  I used the beautiful verse from the Each Day set, flowers from Joyful Blooms and the leaf cluster from Better with You.  Who knew a coffee set would have such a perfect set of leaves!!

I tilted my center panel and used a few strips of dp to give the illusion of washi tape and added a couple of rhinestones to anchor the lower corner.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

TCP Tuesday - 3-2-1

I used more Tangerine paper and the sweet PJ stamp set - "Bearing Flowers" from The Cat's Pajamas for this card.  The challenge this week was 3-2-1...  I used 3 DP patterns, 2 embellishments and 1 piece of twine.  PJ is colored with copics with a paper pieced tummy. : )

Thanks for looking!

MFTWSC160

Hi everyone!

I did a little bit of stamping this afternoon to see if I could use up the rest of my MME Tangerine dp from Stamp Simply and play in a few challenges... SO I have three posts right in a row.  Hope you don't get tired of me! :)

First up is my MFT Sketch card for this week featuring MFT's Pretty Poppies and DieNamics plus the Blueprints 2, Blueprints 3, Fishtail Flag Layers and Scallop Ribbon Border DieNamics.  I think the pierced and stitched edges on those dies adds so much to the card and that font is one of my favorites!

Butterfly Blessings

It's Stamp Simply day on my blog!  I used some of the gorgeous Graphic 45 Secret Garden Patterns and Solids paper to make my background strips, and then I stitched a border to attach them to my white mat.  The sentiment from JustRite Black Eyed Susan is stamped on a Layers Twenty-Two diecut.  I stamped some flourishes from the JustRite Hugs and Kisses set in the background and sponged the edges before I removed it from the die.  I stamped the pretty butterfly on the reverse side of one of my pieces of patterned paper.  Most of the Solids are darker, but this was a pretty cream.  I colored the butterfly with my YR02 and YR00 copic markers and popped it up with a few bits of 3d Foam.  I almost forgot about the pearls!  They are by Melissa Frances.... so pretty!

Owl-ways Smile!

For my CAS card for this week's Mix it up Monday Challenge over at StampTV, I used the owl from Autumn Blessings and the sentiment from You Make me Smile.

I love the Sour Apple and Navy combo with the bits of gold.  And YEE HAW for using up some brads!  I forget about them, since they don't seem to be the "in" thing right now.  I still like them!! : )

MFTWSC159 - Squeaker in Knots

Hello friends!

I have a special card to share today!  It uses a digital set called "Squeaker in Knots" by KnK Designs... which is actually my daughter's digi shop! : )  She has a number of adorable sets in her shop right now, with more on the way, and each set has a number of sentiments in the CUTEST fonts.  I hope you'll check it out!!

I used this week's MFT Sketch for the layout and pulled out my trusty MFT Blueprints 3, 5 and 6 for the scallop, the doily circle and the bow.  I used the MFT Textile Background set on the center strip.

I'm also entering this in this week's Classy Cards n Such challenge for a doily and hearts.

Viva La Verve - Week 3

The Viva La Verve sketch this week was a little harder... lots of layers!   But the more I looked at it, the more I saw a bouquet of flowers with a doily underneath, so I pulled out one of my FAVORITE Verve sets - Surely Goodness - and got to work.  I love the matching die set!  It made it so easy to cut out!  Other Verve dies that I used were the Pennant Trim and Charming Banner sets.  The sentiment and pretty yellow flourish under it are from the set Each Day.  I love that font!

Other notes:
I used the copics that I had used on the flower to give the seam binding a tie-dyed effect.

Verve Shimmer & Shine

Hello everyone!

I had fun this afternoon playing with a number of Verve sets to make a card for the Verve Shimmer and Shine challenge.  I based my card VERY loosely on the Mojo Monday sketch for this week.

Let's see.  I started by making my light pink panel.  I embossed flowers from the Small Celebrations set with clear embossing powder and then sponged the panel with pink ink to make them pop.  I added shimmery ribbon, twine and a button and attached it to the layered card base.

I stamped a little tag diecut (from an MFT Blueprints set) with the swirly circle frame from Small Celebrations, and then added a sentiment from Twitterpated that I had stamped on the Embossed Oval Die.  The little butterfly is also from Twitterpated, and it is stamped on the smaller butterfly from the All Aflutter die set.

I added a little more shimmer with my stardust pen and some clear rhinestones.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Stamp Simply - Grace

Hello friends!

My card today features the beautiful Water Lily from JustRite's Frog and Water Lily set, as well as a sentiment from the Grow in Grace set by Our Daily Bread.   I seem to be wishing for sunshine, because I am gravitating toward yellow paper and images!  The pretty gingham background paper is Graphic 45 Secret Garden - Patterns and Solids.  There are a number of different pastel colors in the pack... blue, lavender, pink, yellow, green... which makes it perfect for baby and spring cards!

I cut my doily by layering a Petite Scalloped Circle die and the circle from the Lacey Tiers set.  I layered it over a strip of embossed designer paper which is actually the opposite side of the gingham.  Love it!  I colored my Water Lily with copics and trimmed around it, popping it up with 3d foam for some dimension.

The strip at the top is another piece of designer paper.   I stamped my greeting and added a few rhinestones to pull in the darker orange from the flowers.

Thanks Snow Much

Greetings, friends!

I'm playing along with two challenges today.  The Mix It Up Monday Challenge on Stamp TV is to make a card that has something shiny on it, and the Mod Squad Challenge is to make a card with SNOW.  Now, I have I box in my stamping area with some leftover cardstock from the last Stamp TV kit I bought and I REALLY would like to have used all of the kit up before the next one comes out this week, so I decided to challenge myself to make a winter card with fall colors.... Hence a Purple and Prickley Pear color scheme!

I used the sweet Gina K Designs set Snow Much Fun and stamped the background in cream ink.  I embossed it with clear ep to make it shiny.  Then I colored my sweet snowman with copics and promarkers and added some more shine with some rhinestones.  A little shiny ribbon and twine and there you have it! : )

Viva La Verve - January Week 2

For this week's Viva La Verve sketch, I combined stamps from Verve's Poppy Birthday and Surely Goodness sets.  I used some pretty Authentique Cherish paper from Stamp Simply to piece the background layers, then ran a piece of natural cardstock through my Cuttlebug with the Linen texture plate from PTI.  The stitched circle and mini tab dies are from MFT and the sheer ribbon that is SO pretty is from Stamp Simply.

Stamp Simply - Just Because

Hello friends!

I thought we needed a little sunshine to warm us up after this cold snap, so I pulled out my JustRite Sunflower set and a few distress markers and got to work.  I stamped my image in Palette Noir ink and then embossed it with clear ep to help keep my colors where I wanted them.   When I had finished, I wanted to speed up the drying process, so I actually sprinkled it with embossing powder again and heated it.  It left a pretty sheen on the leaves and flowers.  Maybe you can see it in the next picture...

I stitched the main panel to a piece of Kaisercraft Devonshire paper and matted it on another piece from the same pack.  BTW - I think the Devonshire paper is on sale right now.  Grab it while you can!

I cut the tag from Spellbinders Fancy Tags One and stamped it with a sentiment from the JustRite Hugs and Kisses set.  A little bow and some rhinestones and it was all finished!

So Many Reasons

Stamp TV has a monochromatic card challenge this week, and this piece of Prickly Pear cardstock was calling my name, so I decided to make a quick CAS card.  The pretty paper is MME Bluebell from Stamp Simply, and the stitched circle die is from MFT.

Have a wonderful day!

Crafty Snowflakes

In honor of our frigid, snowy weather I put together a CAS snowflake card to enter in a couple of challenges.  I pulled out an older Kaisercraft pad called Devonshire from The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store and cut a few borders with my Blueprints 3 Dies from MFT. After stitching my panels together I stamped three snowflakes from Verve's Unto Us set in MFT's Berrylicious ink.  Then I stamped the thank you from MFT's Pretty Poppies in PTI's smokey shadow ink and added a few pearls.

The challenges I'm entering...

MFTWSC157 - Celebrate!

It's time to start this year's set of MFT sketches.  I am determined to do all 52 this year and upload them on time, too!!  LOL!!  We'll see how I do... : )

I used last month's Free with $60 set and the pretty distressed background block.  I wanted to add this to the guy cards in my birthday stash, so I opted to just add some staples as my embellishments.

Challenges:

Joy for the Journey in 2014

Welcome to 2014 everyone!

I'm going to start off the year with a Stamp Simply card, using lots of pretty embellishments and a stamp from the Verve set - "Joy for the Journey".  I'd love for my life this year to show exactly what this sentiment says... Thanks be to God !!

I used a pretty new paper pad by My Mind's Eye called Summer Breeze.  I love the colors in this pad.  I'm sure you'll be seeing it again soon!  Since I was following the Sweet Sunday Sketch for my layout, I thought the pretty Spellbinders tag would be perfect to layer my flowers and bow on.  I have the products I used linked below.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Happy 2014!!
