Day 4 Sneak Peeks!! Leafy Trio

It’s the final day of sneak peeks. Tomorrow all of these fabulous sets will be available at Clear Dollar Stamps. Yay!!! :-)

My card for today showcases a little set of three leaves. My first thought when I saw them is that they would be wonderful to stamp your own backgrounds, but when I started to stamp with them, this is what came out… LOL!

I stamped the leaves on some ivory natural cardstock from Stampin’ Up and then watercolored them by scribbling markers onto an acrylic block and picking up the color with a wet paintbrush. I distressed the edges and matted them with scalloped squares that I punched out with my super jumbo Marvy punch. There are some of my favorite embellishments on this card: stitching, scalloped squares, my Martha Stewart Lace Doily punch and eyelets. The dp is by K&Company, and the “blessings” sentiment is from the Charlie Harvest set that I previewed a day or two ago. (Did I mention that I love that set???)

So there you are! What is your favorite set from this release?? I know I’ll be using them all very often!!!

Be sure to check out the other designers blogs today. There are a number of other sets being previewed today that I know you’ll like - including the Stamp of the Month set that you can get free with a $50 order from the store!

Day 3 Sneak Peeks!! Hot Rods!!

Day 3 Sneak Peeks for Clear Dollar Stamps (being released on September 1st!!) are all about the car lovers in our lives. Since I’m married to a fabulously talented mechanic and old car lover, my samples today had to be inspected before I could post them. :-)

I got to play with a few different stamps and a set of related sentiments this month… 57 Chevy, 68 Corvette, Gas Can single stamp, and the Cool Ride sentiment set.

I started out with the 57 Chevy in a vintage line drawing look. I stamped the car with Ballet Blue ink onto some white cardstock, then sponged and folded and tore and stitched and watercolored, to make it look like an old advertisement. I made my own dp with the gas can stamp and crumpled and sponged a little piece of kraft cardstock to make a tag. The saying makes me laugh, because it is *so* my dh!!

I made some more dp for my second card by placing a number of the sentiments from the Cool Ride set on a block together and stamping them like a background stamp. This time I colored the car with copics and did a little paper piercing to help set it off.

Then we came to the 68 Vette. As I looked around my messy desk, I saw this last piece of cork paper and an idea was born. When my dh and I were dating, I remember seeing the bulletin board in his room. No girl pictures there… just cars. Usually some hot red Vette or Mustang or Camero, so I decided to recreate the bulletin board for the front of my card. Complete with mechanic’s oily fingerprints. (compliments of my son… he said my thumbprint was too small!) I colored the Vette with prismacolors, oms and a few copics in spots. I think it would make the perfect birthday or anniversary card for my husband, don’t you?? :-)

Be *sure* to check out the other stamps being revealed today. Guy stamps are so hard to find, and these car stamps and the sentiment set fill the gap wonderfully!!

Thanks for stopping by! More tomorrow!

Day 2 Sneak Peeks!!

We start out Day 2 of Sneak Peeks for Clear Dollar Stamps with the adorable Charlie Harvest set. I love all the sets that I’ve worked with this month, but this set is my absolute favorite. I love fall!!!!! :-)

For my first card, I followed a sketch that Laurie, our design team leader, had challenged us with. I stamped Charlie on a piece of DCWV designer paper and colored him with prismacolor pencils and oms before I cut him out with my circle nestibilities. I had found this yummy Fancy Pants double sided dp at my LSS, so it was easy to pull my colors from that. I inked up the sentiment words separately, so I could put them side by side instead of on top of each other. Now tell me - isn’t Charlie precious???

For my second card with the set I colored Charlie with Copics and used a double ended tag for the sentiment. Lot’s of little details on this one… stitching, sponging, ribbon, brads… even a flower & a button. I enjoy seeing how the same image can look so different depending on how you color it and what embellishments you use.

The next set that I get to feature today is called Tea-rrific, and the stamps remind me of the lovely vintage teapots and teacups at my Great-Aunt’s house when I was a little girl. You know - the perfect “tea party” kind of tea sets.

My first card was inspired by a picture of a fun pink and black purse that Laurie showed us. I pulled out my post-it notes and sponged a tone-on-tone stripe onto my pink mat. Then, after colored my image with copics and drawing in a little “table” for my cup to sit on, I ran my image through the cuttlebug “backwards” - so the swiss dots are indented in the front, rather than sticking up. My sentiment tag, buttons and ribbon make a triangle to balance the card.

Lastly - I have a clean and simple card. I paper pieced the cream pitcher and sugar bowl, layered them on a piece of white cardstock that I had watercolored with green and plum, and then layered them on a punched plum scalloped circle. I did lots of paper piercing on this card and then added some micro half pearls and some stitching to complete the look.

Don’t forget to look at the rest of the sneak peek designers blogs. They are *so* talented and will inspire you!!

Clear Dollar Stamps Sneak Peek - Day 1

It’s finally here! The first day of sneak peeks for Clear Dollar Stamps!! I have samples for two extremely versatile sets today - I A-Door You and The Grind.

Let’s start with I A-Door You. (A little rabbit trail here… Do any of you remember the old song “K-k-k-aty, beautiful Katy, you’re the only g-g-g-girl that I adore…”?? My mom sang it to my dd, Katlyn, when she was a little girl and everytime I see the name of this stamp set I think of it! :-) It makes me smile…) This is a super fun set of 17 images and sentiments, all centered around a welcoming door. There is *so* much you can do with this set! It would be wonderful for gift tags, housewarming cards or gifts, and recipe cards to name just a few ideas.

For my first card, I decided to paper piece the door using some coordinating paper from The Paper Loft. If you look hard you can see that I added a little shading with copics, just to add some depth. I stamped the little pitcher of flowers on white cardstock, colored it with Copics and cut it out to put it on the little “shelf”. I love how the paper piecing makes it look like there’s a branch outside of the window! :-)

The next card takes the door an entirely different way. Using my Chocolate Chip SU marker, I scribbled in some wood-grain onto the door frame. (Be sure to add a few knotholes… it makes it look more realistic.) Then I colored the door with Prismacolor pencils and oms. The kitty was colored with Prismas as well. I sponged my stitching and the torn edge so it would blend in with the “rustic” look. The sentiment (a-door-able, isn’t it?) was stamped with PTI Fresh Snow ink.

For the next set - The Grind - I decided to make a quick little project with a pint-sized coffee bag that I picked up at a stamping rummage sale a few weekends ago. I have older sisters that just love coffee, and I thought it would be fun to make a coffee themed gift bag for Christmas or their birthday. I started with a plain kraft coffee bag (the kind that’s plastic lined on the inside) and stamped some coffee beans and words in a pattern on both the front and back of the bag. I actually stamped the back of the bag upside down, so the words would be right side up when I rolled it. I colored the grinder with copics and prismacolor pencils and stamped some more coffee beans and an extra drawer, which I colored and popped up. I attached this to the folded over layer of the bag. The other coffee beans are attached to the bag itself. Wouldn’t that be a fun gift filled with a couple of single pot coffee selections?? Maybe the Ghiradelli Chocolate Peppermint coffee that Target had in the $1 spot last year??? MMMMmmmmm!!

My last card for today is probably my favorite. I paper pieced the tall cup on kraft cardstock and popped up some coffee beans colored with copics. I distressed the edges of the coffee layer with cocoa ink, added some stitching and a fancy brad. I love the clean layout and the fact that it could be sent to either a guy or a gal.

So, what do you think?? Be sure to visit Lori’s blog to see the full set and check out the other gals on the team who have sneak peeks to share. I know you’ll be impressed!! Then be *sure* to come back tomorrow cuz I have two more “purrfectly a-door-able” sets to share!!

Warm Cuddles

Hi ladies! Are you looking forward to the Clear Dollar Stamps previews that start tomorrow?? I can't wait to start sharing with you! In the meantime, Here's a card that I made for the Color Challenge over on Simon Says Stamps at Papercraft Planet. I used this sweet little Tilda with lamb and combined her with an Elzybell sentiment. I colored her with copics and cut her out with one of my large rectangle nestibilities, sponging the edges with Memento Desert Sand ink before removing the die. I inked the cuttlebug folder with Cameo Coral ink before I embossed my cameo layer, which gives an interesting effect of highlighted lights and darks that I just love.

Thanks for stopping by and if you're still wanting to join the challenge you have just a few days - it closes on the 31st!

Blessings & see you tomorrow!

Digital Tuesday Card

Teal and brown seem to be all the rage right now, and they look fairly "masculine", so I decided to use them for this Digital Stamp Oasis card for the Digital Tuesday challenge. Sammy is colored with copics and I used a Clear Dollar Stamps set called Woodland Friends for the sentiment and footprints across the bottom.

Thanks for stopping by!

Blessings!

Weekend Color Challenge

I had a lot of fun with the weekend color challenge for Clear Dollar Stamps this weekend since the colors were right up my alley... Celery, pink and banana. I used the Everyday Jar-Gon set by Clear Dollar again. It is *so* versatile!!! This time I just used the flowers and punched them out with my super jumbo punch. I handcut the pink layer and punched the scalloped layer with my mega (pink) punch. I'm trying to use up my eyelets, so I put one in each corner. :-)

Don't forget that this set is on sale at Clear Dollar for another week. It is *so* worth it!!! And I think that there's still that free dragonfly set, too, just for ordering! Don't miss it. And be sure to come back toward the end of the week for some sneak peeks. Very, very, very fun stuff!!!

Have a lovely weekend!

Best Fishes & the WINNER!

Hi ladies! Wasn't the blog hop *fun* ??? Wow! What cute cards there were!! Just to clear something up, though... You all seemed to really think the marbles were clever, but what you *didn't* know was I didn't figure out that they were supposed to be gumballs until after I made the card!!!! Isn't that hysterical?? :-)

Today's card is for the Clear Dollar Weekend Color Challenge over on PaperCraft Planet and uses SCS sketch SC240. I have to tell you that the Weekend Color Challenge is my absolute favorite challenge of any I participate in. There's chatting and lots of feedback on your cards. So pull out your Clear Dollar Stamps and come visit us next Friday. :-)

On to my card. I watercolored my card using a watercolor brush and watercolor pencils, then I punched the cute pink frond out with my new Martha Stewart punch (that I won at the Shoebox swap yesterday... YAY!!) and used the mask to make the pink seaweed in the water. I just colored through the mask with my Copic marker and then went around it with my .01 black Millennium Zig marker to make it look like it grew there. You might get a closer view if you click on the picture.

Now, of course, you all want to know who the winner is of this cute set. First I want to say THANK YOU for such sweet comments. They really were so generous! Now... the winner of the EVERYDAY JAR-GON set from my blog is....

Blogger Brenda !!!

who said...
Well I kept writing down my favorites, but I really like the marbles. Very creative. Great design!

Congratulations!!! Be sure to email me with your address, Brenda!!!

See you all in a week or so for some SNEAK PEEKS!! You'll love them!!!!!!

I must admit that I had a hard time which stamps to use first in this set. There were fish and cookies and gumballs and bugs and candy and flowers along with 3 or 4 different jar toppers and gobs and gobs of sentiments. So many decisions!! LOL!! I decided to go with an open vase filled with flowers. I paper pieced the marbles in the bottom of the jar with some Basic Grey Wassail paper and used Copics and prismacolors to color the images, then finished them up with some sparkles from the Stardust gel pen. It's so sparkly in real life!

Hi everyone! It's Katlyn. Mom is a little busy, so she asked me to post a card today. Here is one I made for the Verve release. Out of the 5 sketches, it is actually sketch 4... Desk Set

This Saturday I'm participating in my first ever "shoebox swap". Along with the make n take card that I showed a few weeks ago, I made an Anything But a Card swap and this fun desk set for the Lottery Swap. As I understand it we make something worth about $10 and then swap with someone else for their "WOW" creation. I had so much fun with this set. I altered a file folder, made a post-it note holder and box, altered a mini composition notebook and some pens, made some giant paperclips and filled a container with paper clips, push pins and binder clips. I still want to add some candy to the mix.... Chocolate makes anything a "WOW" gift in my book!!

Isn't this paper adorable? I bought 5 sheets at my LSS during their Christmas in July sale and used every last bit of it on this set. I'm going to have to get some more!! It's by Paper Loft - which is a company I didn't even know existed! LOL!

BTW, have you checked out the Clear Dollar Stamps blog yet??? Saturday is a SWEET day!! Be sure to mark your calendars!!!!

Blessings!

Tricia

p.s. If your Google Reader picked up a strange post from my blog earlier, sorry! I posted it on the wrong blog!! :-) If you'd care to join us for the challenge though, we'd love to have you! You can find the info here.

Don't Miss This!!!!

No card right now, but there are big things happening this week over at Clear Dollar Stamps that you don't want to miss!! I can't say anything more just now, but it might be worth your while to make a quick stop over at Lori's blog... {wink}!!

Have a fantabulous day!!!

Rainy Day

It's a beautifully gray rainy day here. I love rainy days! I wouldn't have minded a little sun today, though, since we're having a garage sale... but, the Lord knows best, and I'm trusting Him to bring in just the right people.

In honor of the rain, I printed out the digital image of Susie with her flower umbrella from Digital Stamp Oasis and colored her with Copics. No particular sketch today. I just played with some scraps and made myself happy. :-) I think I ran out of my swirly ribbon again. Time for a visit to the local scrapbook store!!

Have a lovely day, and if it's sunny by you, send some my way. Thanks!!

Moosing You

For a brighter picture, try my gallery at Splitcoast here. I don't know why there is such a difference, but there seems to be!!
It's Mojo contest time again! This week I chose to combine my Mojo sketch with the Clear Dollar Stamp Weekend Color Challenge colors - Olive, Bashful Blue and Kraft (actually it's sand... but I don't have any - so Kraft it is!!).

I paper pieced my little Moose from the CDS February Stamp Set of the Month and set him on a little grassy knoll - which is a Memory Box stamp that I found once upon a time. To recreate the squares behind the circle in the sketch I ended up stitching and sponging. I tried every color cardstock under the sun for those squares, but they just didn't do it. The stitching was understated enough not to overpower my sad little moose. I stamped some stars (SU) with white ink on my kraft cardstock, stitched and distressed the edges, and tied a cute little tag to my ribbon to finish it off.

Here's a close up so you can see him all popped up...

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you'll play along in both the challenges! They're so much fun!!!

A Fun Fold

I took a few minutes out from this... (emptying a storage shed to prepare for the rummage sale on Saturday!)...

To make this fun little card with a fancy fold.

I don't use Edwin that often, but a friend sent me these and I just loved him. The cards are *so* quick and easy, but have that *wow* appeal that I love.

Thanks for stopping by. I think I overdid it going through the boxes and my torn muscle is crying, so I think I'll call it quits for tonight! TTFN! Tricia
