A Better Day

Hi, everyone!  The color challenge over at Stamp TV this past week has been to use lots of blues and neutrals.  I wasn't sure what to do, but when thought of the pink owls I've seen flying around the gallery, I thought of a blue dog.  :)  I had so much fun with this card!  I can't say as I've ever tried to color a dog blue before.  :)

Thanks for stopping!

It Moose be a Graduation

I had so much fun with this card!  I used the colors from the Clear Dollar Stamps Weekend Color Challenge and the wax paper resist background technique from this week's StampTV episode.  I used three different sets of Clear Dollar Stamps... Moose Friends, April Showers, and a $1 graduation hat.  I colored my images with copics.  Other than that I think it was pretty self-explanatory.

I'm going to be super busy this week, getting ready for our first homeschool convention with GraceWorks, so my posts may be scarce.   One of us will try to find time to upload a few fun things, though!!

Have a wonderful week!

Verve Release Tonight!

It's another Verve Release tonight!!  Yippee!  Have you seen the cute sets that are coming out?  I am more and more in love with the clean lines of Julee's sets, and this little bear in his pumpkin suit is one of my favorites.   I really wanted to use him for this sketch... even though it was 85 here yesterday! LOL  Soooo.... I paired him with the flowers and saying from Floral Symphony.  What do you think?

I used a sheet of patterned acetate and actually - see that white behind the main image??  - that's the sticker on the acetate! :)  Waste not, want not!!  I stamped the greeting with Palette ink, cuz my Staz On is dried out.  I was afraid it would smear, but it really did very well.

My little pumpkin is watercolored and I used a marker to ink up my stamps for the flowers and stem.

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope to see you at the party later!!

Under the Weather

It seems like forever since I sat down and stamped!  We got back from the wedding late on Saturday and I'm just starting to feel like I'm catching up... but now I need to start working on our GraceWorks booth for the Homeschool show coming up next weekend.  Whew!!  Time Flies!  Speaking of flying...  Here comes Sammy Squirrel from Digital Stamp Oasis in his fighter jet.  I colored him ever so quickly with Prismas, OMS and a few Copic markers.

Hope *you're* not under the weather right now.  I know there are a lot of colds and flus going around, though, so if you feel crummy, this card is for you!!

Blessings!

Magnolia Birthday Card

I had time to do a quick birthday card before I left for the wedding, so you'll have something to look at while we're gone.  I colored Tilda with Copics and sponged the edges wth Memento Desert Sand ink.  (I love this color for giving a vintage look to my projects.   I wonder how the new duos by PaperTrey are going to be.  They intrigue me, too...)

The Happy Birthday and dp are from SU and - of course - I used my Martha Stewart Doily Edge punch. :)  Small things make me happy.  Speaking of which, I got $30 for Mother's Day and I can't decide how to spend it.  A Scor-pal?  More Nesties?  More Stamps?  or should I get supplies like paper and stuff... or maybe not stamping things at all!

My dh gives me the money just to watch me try to figure out what to buy.  I've found that the surest way to keep me from spending money is to give me some!! LOL!!

Talk to you soon!

Blue & Green

The Viva La Verve Sketch was a fun one this week.  The sketch itself was fairly simple, and the twist was to use the colors blue & green.

I chose the tulips from the Verve set Floral Symphony, and stamped them lightly in Moss and Bashful Blue.  The word are stamped in Navy to make them pop.  I ran the Moss layer through my cuttlebug with the Swiss Dots folder.  I love applying pieces with the raised dots facing downward for a different look.  I distressed the edges with my grapefruit knife and sponged some moss to darken them.

The brads and button are by Basic Grey, as well as the dp.  I even pulled out some of my moss gingham ribbon!! :)

This week will be busy here, so our blog posting might be a little sporadic.  We're getting ready to leave for 3 days to attend and participate in a wedding, so stamping will have to take a backseat to preparations.  :)

Elegant Thoughts

Today's card features two sets from Clear Dollar Stamps - Genuine Love and Silhouette Wishes.  I used the sketch from Mojo Monday 85.

Have a wonderful day today.  I hope you'll be able to spend some time resting and some time with the Lord.

Blessings!

Verve Project Parade

The Verve Project Parade for this month was in honor of the women in our lives.  I decided to alter this little journal that I had in my drawer into a prayer journal for one of my daughters, or sisters, or my Mom, or one of my good friends, or ... well, I can't decide!!

This project is very simple.  I used a Verve Plain Jane as my sentiment on the outside and sponged it very lightly with Desert Sand ink before running it through the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots folder and then matting it on dp and Bazzill Olive Green cardstock.  The designer paper is all by Imaginisce.  I tied a few knots around some pink grosgrain ribbon that I wrapped around the front cover and popped up a little heart charm for a little interest.

The inside front and back covers are both covered with dp, and I made a front page (punched with the SU spiral punch, so it fit right in.) and attached a sentiment from Verve's Circular Sayings.  I've been trying to use more eyelets, since I have *so* many of them around!!

Thanks for stopping by.  Now I have to go decide who to give this to!!

Happy Mother's Day!

Thank You Teacher!

This new little digital image from Digital Stamp Oasis is the perfect fit for those end of the year teacher appreciation cards.  I actually cropped the image down a little and just used part of it on my card.  I punched the dp with the scalloped circle punch to give a spot to accent my sentiment banner (Sentiment by Verve), and I used a strip of red cardstock as my "ribbon".

Enjoy your day!!

Moose Friends

I love this little moose and his birdie friend from the Clear Dollar Stamps Set Moose Friends.  I used Celery, Red and Blush as my main colors to fit in with this weekend's Color Challenge for CDS over on PaperCraft Planet, and the sketch is CPS 114.

I stamped the moose baby first on Blush cardstock and then masked him before stamping the sunflowers.  I colored him with Prismas and OMS and punched him out with my Blue Marvy Punch.   Something new that I haven't done before was to curve the word friend on the block before stamping it.  Pretty neat effect, huh?? :)

An Autumn Acorn

I posted a spring card yesterday, and now I will skip to autumn.  :)  I made this card for a recent Stamp TV challenge.  No squares were allowed, so we had to get creative.  I am amazed at how many squares and rectangles I use on cards!  Anyway, the acorn worked well for this challenge.  :)

See you next week!

Magnolia Bookmark

Sweet Tilda with Tag graces this bookmark for my daughter.  Tilda is colored with copics and is sitting on a sponged piece of lace.  The sentiments are all from PTI's Mixed Messages and the other background stamps are from Studio G and TAC.

Inspiration

The Viva La Verve sketch for this week had a twist of "Inspiration".  We were to take inspiration from something in our house and transfer that to our card.  I chose this picture that hangs in my bedroom... (Sorry for the yellow picture!)

I let the artwork inspire my color choices and the one-sheet wonder look of the panels on the bottom of my card.  The sentiment is stamped on half of a file tab punch from SU.

On another note...

My dd has graciously agreed to start posting on my blog a few days a week so I can spend more time doing what I should be doing... which includes updating my *other* blog!! :)  So... she'll be posting mid-week and I'll be posting from Friday to Monday.... although not necessarily every day! :)

A Couple of Cards...

I have a couple of cards to share with you today.  They both showcase a sweet set by Clear Dollar Stamps called Genuine Love.  I found this set when I was browsing through their store last month and fell in love with it.

For the first card I used one of the new Digital Stamp Oasis images that is available here.  I colored Sammy with Prismacolors and OMS and punched him out with a Marvy Super Jumbo (blue) circle punch, then layered him on a scalloped circle punched with the Mega (pink) punch.  I stamped the wispy branch onto the tan layer with Memento Desert Sand ink. (A *must have* color!!), and then stitched the tan layer onto the background layer.  I used three different copper brads to add some interest to the upper left hand corner and stamped the verse, "Let love be genuine.  Abhor what is evil; hold fast to what is good."  I thought it was appropriate, since Sammy was holding onto a good sized acorn. :)

The second card is for the Clear Dollar Stamps Weekend Color Challenge, to use Bashful Blue, White and Silver (or Gray).  The image is the wispy branch again, stamped in gray.  The little blue flowers are one stamp - perfectly situated to add flowers to the branch.  I love it!  And no, I didn't stamp on fabric... just textured paper.  BTW, are you tired of my doily punch yet??  I can't help using it!  It adds such a sweet feminine look to your projects!!

I hope to get in a little more stamping this afternoon, but, we'll see!!

Good Friends

I had the pleasure of stopping in to see Gina K at her shop on Monday afternoon.  How fun!  I love seeing all the cards in person.  As nice as blogs are, nothing inspires me more than the "real thing".   They're just so much more stunning in real life!

This card uses the My Cuppa Joe set from Gina K and follows the current sketch challenge on StampTV.  Did you see the gift box video this week?  I *have to* get a scor-pal!!!!!  Maybe my family will give me one for Mother's Day.  'Ya think???

I used some pretty dp from The Angel Company and colored the images with prismas and oms.  It's an easy layout.  Try it!!
