Wild Animal Challenge

I have a guest designer on my blog today... my daughter, Katlyn.  This is her "wild animal" card for the new challenge blog - Crafty Monkeys.  Don't you just love the little giraffe?? :)

I think she did a great job!! :)

Friendship Challenge

The challenge on Penny Black Saturday was to make a friendship card using at least one Penny Black image.  Well, I just so happened to have a few Penny Black images in my stack of 20 to be colored and made into cards this week!! :)  I just adore this Debbie Mumm patterned cardstock that I got with my 50% off coupon at JoAnn's this week.  And I'm actually *using* it!!  Yay for me!! :)

So - here's the score.  I made 8 cards today, bringing my grand total for the week up to 12.  Only 8 more to go!! :)  I'm still using pink, brown and yellow for my main colors, although I did get to throw in a little green today.  It's been so fun to see the cards come together after I color them!  Here are a couple more that I made today, while I'm at it.

 Thanks for stopping by!

Cards-n-Updates

My goal for this week is to use up some of my stash instead of hoarding it, so I challenged myself to make 20 cards.  I picked twenty images from my pre-stamped image box and grabbed my pile of gorgeous SU designer paper pieces from my friends.  I'm going to use pink and yellow and brown for this first batch.  That way I can keep the same colored pencils and paints out. :)  The first three cards I colored with Radiant Pearl paints - so shimmery in real life!! :)

This card is for the Spoonful of Sugar challenge - Celebrations.  Isn't it just the sweetest birthday card??

Now for the updates....  I have the new TAC catalogs!!  You are going to just love the new Gift with Purchase stamps!!  They are mostly words and they all can intermix....  Such a great idea!!  There are new designer paper lines - very pretty - and lots of new samples.  If you are looking for a quick gift for a friend or family member you'll love the new mini album kits.  Such a neat way to share your pictures and memories with your loved ones!!  AND - I saw the stamp of the month for July (Edited:  Oops!  Sorry!  It's August's SOTM - not July.... But it's still beautiful!! ) .  If you are a word person, like I am, I think you'll love it.  So... all that to say, if you want a catalog, be sure to let me know.  Nicky and Deb, I'll have yours in the mail tomorrow. Be sure to let me know if I missed you!

Seminar Challenge!

Aren't these Juliette papers from TAC scrumptious??  I made this card for a Seminar Sketch Challenge over on the TAC demonstrator site.  Our annual convention is actually going on in Wichita, KS right now and the catalogs are in some of the angels hot little hands.  I've only seen the cover, and it's *beautiful*!!  I can't wait to see it in person!!!!  Not too many more days now...

I colored this image from All Things of Nature with my Prismacolors and OMS.  Speaking of which, I was at a rummage sale this morning and  I found a *marvelous* old wooden box with a handle for $2.  It's seperated into 3 sections and is *perfect* for holding my Prismacolors, my watercolor pencils and my OMS and blending stumps.  What a blessing from the Lord!! :)  And my son earned 3 quarts of strawberries, so we get strawberry pie tonight.  In fact I have to go make it now.

Have a lovely day!!

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!

I've had such happy mail days for the last few days!!  I've gotten stamped images and RAK's and a wonderful, wonderful, wonderful stack of Stampin' Up designer paper from a friend.  Oh, it's lovely!!!  I made a set of little notecards for my Mom today using some of these little Elzybell chickies and some of the Cutie Pie dp.  I colored with my 3 Copic markers, SU markers, and Prismacolors.

On another note, remember that Friday is the last day to order from the Fall/Winter TAC catalog.  We can order from the new catalog on Monday!! :)  I really can't wait to see it!  Be sure to contact me if you haven't reserved your copy yet.

Off to finish my list now!!  Thanks for stopping by!

Bits & Pieces

The challenge on the Tilda & Friends ATC blog this week was to make an ATC with "bits & pieces", so I grabbed a few pieces leftover from my last card kit and colored a Magnolia snail to match.  I stamped Snail Mail with a small alphabet from TAC (only another week until the catalogs come!!!! Have you ordered yours yet??).  I couldn't stop there, though, because I had a few more pieces of cardstock begging to be used.  I stamped the blue bayou cardstock with my Polka Dot background from CC Designs.  (I love this background!!) and added a few brads to pull out the color.  I actually even went back after I took the picture and added a strip of designer paper right across the middle as well.  Now I'm just waiting for the right person to send it to! :)

Happy Monday!!

Swirly Tilda

The challenge on Tilda & Co for this week is to use Swirls on your card.  I stamped my swirls on my background paper (retired - SU) and also on my little tab that has the "just because" sentiment (Tag Tidbits - TAC). I know they're light - but, trust me!, they're there!! :)   Tilda is colored with Prismacolors and OMS and Stickles.  The pretty flowers were a gift from a friend.  They make me smile.

Time to work on my cross-stitch, nap and pick up the house.  Have a wonderful day!

Quick Notecard Kit

Hi all!

Sorry it's been so long since I posted.  I'm feeling somewhat under the weather, so I haven't done much (to be read "any") stamping for the past few days.  I do have the other kit to show you that I'll be offering this month.  Michelle Wooderson has been showing these wonderful little one-layer notecards on her blog and I just loved them.  I made mine with paper from the Mimi Collection by TAC.  The "Give Thanks" stamp is from a retired Stampin Up set.  I also picked up a sweet alphabet, so these could easily be monogrammed notecards as well.  I'll be offering these at my workshop at the end of the month for those ladies who "really" like to stamp.  It will give them something extra to do while I work with the newer stampers.  If you're interested in a kit, let me know and we'll work out the details. :)

What do you think??

I'm preparing to do a workshop with 20 or so ladies at the end of the month. Now, granted, I've done tons of workshops, but I don't usually have 20 ladies there and have to be 5 hours from home! I put together this grouping for the ladies to do... some really easy for the beginners, some a little more involved, so the diehard "stampers" will enjoy it too. I'll be happy to cut some extra kits if any of you are interested! Just drop me an email - This will be the JUNE CARD KIT and the cost will be $13 including shipping. Here are the projects...
This first card uses the Poppin Pastel technique and is so pretty and soft, but also quick and easy. I love the pearlescent brads that I got from TAC. I use them so much that I need to order some more!
Card #2 is made with some of the Mimi collection from TAC and that absolutely wonderful birthday gift with purchase stamp. Another thing that I use all the time!!

Card #3 is a fun one. I get to show the ladies how to color with Prismacolors and OMS. One of my favorite ways to color. We also get to pull out the Stickles. Yay!!!

And Project #4.... a quick and easy notebook like the one I showed a few days ago. So what do you think?? Will they like it?? I do have another kit that I'll make available this month as well, but I'll show that tomorrow. See you then!!

Mmmm.... Chocolate!!

My Favorite Things is having a Guest Designer contest on their forum at SCS, so I decided to have a try. Unfortunately, the picture I posted at SCS looks AWFUL - I still having figured out photo editing on my laptop. I've reverted back to the desktop to work on my pictures. Anyway, the patterned paper is some retired SU that a friend sent me - Hi Diane!! - and I love it!! :) The colors are River Rock, Ruby Red and Black. The black is part of the challenge.

I finished up all the samples for a Ladies' Morning Out get together that I'm going to be doing in Indiana at the end of the month. I'll post the project here tomorrow, and if you're interested, I'll make you a set of supplies and instructions, too!! :) See you tomorrow!!

You are my Sunshine!

This week's ATC challenge at Tilda & Friends is to make a sunny ATC.  It's a nice contrast with the grey and somewhat gloomy day that we're having!!  I chose to color Tilda with her watering can, popped her up over a bright, sunny background and added some brads, cording and a sweet sentiment from a retired TAC set.  She makes *me* smile!! :)

Have a sunshine-y day!!!

Envelope Challenge

After seeing the cute gift card holder that Andrea Walford made on her blog here, I just had to try it for myself.  Plus it's a great Stash Challenge for ASB, since we ALL have envelopes in our stash!!

I colored my little Magnolia stamp with Prismacolors and OMS and mounted her on popdots onto some retired SU designer paper.  The wide organdy is also retired.... in fact I think half of my stash is!!  Why do we accumulate so much that is "out of fashion" so quickly.  Let's use it and bless other people!!! :)

I changed the inside of my gift card holder just a little by lining it with dp and making a diagonal pocket on one side.  What a fun project!  Great for any time you'd like a quick gift card holder... or it could hold gum, or a mini Hershey bar, or a bookmark, or cash.... Fun!!  I wish I could get a picture of the inside for you, but Blogger's being ornery again.  Sigh!!

Thanks for visiting!!  And if you decide to try one of these, I'd love to see it!

Oh - guess what!!  There is an online shop based in Canada that will be selling Magnolia stamps to the US and one in the UK that will be stocking Hanglar and Stanglar stamps, and they ship international!! :)  I need to start selling some things on Ebay, I think, to make some $$$$!!!

Notes...

I love to take notes during the Sunday services at church.  It helps me to pay attention, and gives me a place to jot down things that the Lord makes clear during the preaching.  Well, last Sunday was the last page of my little penguin notebook that I made a few months ago, so I put together another today.  I don't want to be very 3-d with these little notebooks, since lots of embellishments would mean that they would get ruined in my Bible cover.  I chose instead to make a paper ribbon and be content with just one brad.  I finally used one of the Hanglar & Stanglar images that I have been hoarding, because -- YIPPEE -- I won blog candy of some more stamped H & S images.  I'm so blessed!!

Thanks for stopping by!  "Now may the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, ...make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is well-pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever.  Amen."
