Chickies... Day 2

Here we are! CC Designs Sneak Peek - Day 2!! This card uses my *favorite* chicky of all from the new Hey Chicky set... Umbrella Chicky. Very appropriate for today, too, since it's raining!!And no, I did NOT paper piece the umbrella and boots! I just colored them with my SU Regal Rose SU marker and then added the dots with my Rose Red marker. So easy, and such a cute look! It even matched the Polka Dotted background and the Bali Breeze paper that I used for the scallop circle. Very fun!!

I've seen this chicky as "Interview Chicky" and "Busy Chicky" - but mine is Mama Chicky. Just perfect for all those Moms for Mother's Day. I didn't have a stamp that would fit my circle punch, so I just handwrote the sentiment. I used the little grass stamp again, and the Heart background stamp (or half of it, anyway!!) from CC Designs. I even got out my eyelets. Must. Buy. CropADile. LOL!!

Interested in more Peeks?? Be sure to check out the ATS Blog and visit all the design team members... I've heard there is even a contest!!

Say Hello, Chicky!!

It's here! The start of the CC Designs April Release Sneak Peeks!! This adorable Chicky with a Flower came from the new Hey Chicky set that will be released early, early, Friday morning (or late, late Thursday night) at 12:01. Isn't it great?? I love it!! And I even broke down and bought 3 Copic markers to play with... yellow, orange and cool grey. I'm afraid that I like them, although I don't think I'd want to give up my Stampin' Up markers anytime soon. I use them each differently. I found the fun Memory Box grass stamp at my LSS, and thought it would be a great addition to so many of the sets I use, that I had to buy it with my 20% off coupon. :) The background stamp is my favorite of the four Big Ol Backgrounds that Christine has in the store... Polka Dots. So classy!!

My second card is inspired by Lauren Meader, one of my design team colleagues. She talked in this post about color blocking, and that was JUST what this card needed. The cupcake is actually from CC Designs new It's My Birthday set that will also be released on Friday. If you love Lucky and Lulu and the monkeys, you'll have to have this set!! I'll show you more from that set in a day or two!!

Be sure to stop by again tomorrow for Sneak Peek #2!!!

Cute Card Thursday - People

I must have been feeling "blue" when I made today's card for Cute Card Thursday. The theme was "people" - so I pulled out my little Elzybell with stars. The designer paper is from SU's Bali Breeze and the ribbon was from Walmart. Thanks for stopping by!!

Tilda in Blue & Yellow

I'm so excited to be playing in my first Tilda & Friends ATC challenge. Thank you, Annie!! :) We were to use the colors blue and yellow in honor of the Swedish flag, since Tilda is Swedish. I colored Tilda with a little bit of everything... markers, prismacolors, oms, and even a couple watercolor pencils. She's popped up on mounting tape and has a few Stickles to make her sparkle.

What a fun challenge. I think she's SO cute!!! I really am going to have to save up some money so I can buy some of these! Especially the little Tilda sweeping and the one where she is jumping a rope of flowers. Ahhhh.... a new obsession. LOL!!

Happy Thoughts!

Guess what I got in the mail yesterday?? My first Tilda card!! I'm so, so excited! A dear UK blogging friend sent me a few Tilda & Edwin images to play with and now I can join in on the Tilda ATC challenges!! Oh, what a blessing!!

I spent all day yesterday cleaning and decorating our bedroom. I've had a horrible time actually "nesting" in this duplex up until now, but when our house up north sold I've really gotten the urge to make this "home". Today's project is to organize my stamping area and closet. BIG job, let me tell you!! I'm pretty sure that posting a bunch of stuff for sale on EBay will be the job for Thursday or Friday!!

Have a great day!

More Mia

I am having so much fun with this pack of Mia's Cottage cardstock from TAC!! I got the cardstock and matching ribbons and just "went to town". A lot of the cards I made I loved so much that I'm sending them in to The Angel Company for some of the current contests, but this one is made with supplies from here and there, so it's just right for my blog.

The patterned cardstock is all from TAC. The image is from Hats Off (TAC). I got the ribbon from Walmart, the apricot cardstock is Stampin Up, and the sentiment is from Gina K's How Sweet it Is set.

We're snowed in here for the time being... I heard that we're expecting between 10-18 inches. Happy Spring!!! LOL!!

PS... If you don't have an Angel Company demonstrator in your area, be sure to drop me a line and let me tell you about our current specials. They're fabulous!! (Overseas, too. I'd be happy to ship an order to you!) Or you can see for yourself at www.theangelcompany.net. Thanks for stopping by!

Cute Card Thursday!

It's Cute Card Thursday - Animal Edition, so my little fishy from The Angel Company's Everyday Events is making an encore appearance. The cardstock and ribbon are all from the TAC order that I just got. (Two days after ordering it! How's that for service!!) The collection is called Mia's Cottage. Aren't the colors scrumptious?? I used prismas and OMS to color my fishy and added a little paper piercing to set off the corners. Hey - did you know that a piercing tool gets dull after awhile?? I'm going to have to replace mine soon, I think. It's a good thing that they aren't very expensive!!

Glad you stopped by. Happy first day of Spring!!

A Challenge for You!!

Hi Ladies! I thought maybe you'd like to play along with today's stash challenge over at A Shade of Blue to make a card or scrapbook page with the paper piecing technique. It's a good way to use up those little scraps of designer paper that you have laying around. Just stamp your image on different background papers and cut and paste the parts together rather than coloring them.... For example, my fish card has the fish cut from one piece of paper, the bowl from another and the balloon from yet another. I can't wait to see what you come up with!!

Here's the card details... Everyday Events, Fancy Curls (TAC), Sands of Time cs (TAC), Palette Burnt Umber Ink, Ribbon, Bazzill cs

Have fun, and be sure to link me to your creation!

Gina K Color Challenge

Spring equals "mud", I think!! But I'm so happy that it's getting warmer. I think I actually heard a bird of some sort yesterday morning!! :)

This card is for the Gina K color challenge to use Pumpkin, Teal & Soft Sky. Wow... what a combination! I love this set for bold colors, though. It always looks cheery and the duck is always such a sweet addition.

Thanks for stopping by!

Bee Happy

Aren't the Fluffles images just adorable?? If I was on my game, I would sit down and color a whole bunch of them at once and stock up on cards. Extra time and I, however, seem to be foreigners at the moment. Be that as it may, I couldn't resist making a card with Kimmie's sketch. Who knows, I might just win a Magnolia stamp!!!! The card is pretty straightforward... some K&Co designer paper, a Fluffles image colored with markers, mostly, a few primas, some brads, lots of paper piercing and a Happy Birthday sentiment that I changed into Bee Happy. Have a happy day!!

Everyday Thanks

I have so many things to be thankful for as I sit here today. I am so thankful that our house sold! Especially in today's market. I'm thankful for the friends that stopped by at our house up north and helped me clean and pack. I'm thankful for the friends and family that helped us move the rest of our stuff this weekend, and for the fact that I'm "settled" in a duplex for the time being, so I have time to sort through "stuff" before we move again. I cannot believe the things that we've accumulated. And I really thought that I'd gotten rid of a lot already!!

This is just a quick card to add to my stash since I have so many thank yous to send out now. The designer paper is all SU, and the little flower pot is one of my favorite stamps from the Everyday Events set by The Angel Company. I simply colored it in with markers. Easy, easy!

Don't forget the wonderful specials that The Angel Company has through April! Double Gift with Purchase stamps for each $30 you spend, double Hostess benefits if your order reaches $100 or more. I put in a show for a gal the other day and was amazed at all the great things she got for free or 1/2 price!!! And.... remember that the Big Bite Cropadile is available on April 1st. I don't have a cropadile and I've really wanted to pick one up, so I think I'll be collecting orders to put in on the 1st so I can get it for 1/2 price. How fun!! :)
Thanks for hanging around! I'm glad to be back... :)

Shew! What a Week!!

Sorry I've been gone so long without warning!! This has been a whirlwind week and I'm so tired - but SO grateful. I mentioned that we got an offer on our house... last Wednesday, maybe? Well, everything flew through and we close on it tomorrow. I think that's almost unheard of!! I've been up at the house all week, cleaning, taking down shelves, inhaling dust, packing and organizing. I just got home this afternoon and I'm beat!! Then I found out that this card is on the featured art section of The Angel Company website! Yippee! I hope you'll check it out!! :)

I'll probably be kind of hit and miss with posting over the next week or so. We have to make one more trip to pick up the rest of our things and then I need to get back into some sort of routine. Thanks for checking in!!
