Your Next Stamp January New Release Blog Hop

Hello friends!

It's time for the Your Next Stamp January New Release blog hop!  There were so many cute sets this month - I can't wait to play with them some more!  Don't forget that we are giving away a $25 YNS Gift Certificate to one hop participant today, so be sure to go through and leave some love on each stop of the hop. (The more blogs you visit and comment on the greater your odds of winning, but you don't have to comment on every blog to be qualified to win. 😊)

I need to make some Valentine cards so I decided to go sweet and simple with my hop card today...

This was such a fun card to make!  When I got my sets for this month I stamped out this little kitty from Love and Hugs because he makes me smile.  I colored him with Copics and had fun coloring and decorating the heart.  The only part of the heart that isn't done with Copics is the stitched lines - those I drew in with a red pen - and then I added a Gumdrop as well.

To make the background I first die cut a Floating Hearts Panel and then started to sponge through it.  Then I noticed that I had it on the card upside down! Oh, dear! 😂  When I took it off, though, I really liked the look of the upside down hearts as my base.  It sort of looked like they were falling down around him... right??   Reminding myself of my New Year's Resolution to not stress over trying to be perfect, I kept going and used my MISTI to stamp my greeting in the corner using Black Olive ink and then popped up my kitty over the top of the sentiment with 3D foam dots.  I used a couple of different Gumdrop packs to finish it up!

So... are you making your shopping list??  Don't forget that Karen is offering 20% off your purchase through January 8th!

Thanks for stopping by!  Don't forget to leave a comment before you leave!!
