Absolutely Paw-some

I don't think I've told you lately how much I like Phoebe and her friends, so let me tell you now!  She is SO fun to color!  And her puppy is just adorable!! There's a kitty in this set, too... I just haven't used her yet.  And a wagon...  Must.Make.More.Phoebe.Cards!!

I followed the new sketch over at Your Next Stamp for my card - you should join in, too!

Flowers & Scripture

Hi again!

I have a sweet and simple card today that features a stamp I love from an old Flourishes set (at lest 2013... maybe older?) called Botanical Bookplates.   I stamped the image with Versafine ink on watercolor paper and "messy watercolored" it with my distress markers and a small brush.  I used a Celebrations Pierced Oval die from Spellbinders to cut it out before layering it on a piece of patterned paper from my stash.  The sentiment is from Clear Dollar Stamps and is older still - I'm thinking 2010 or 2011??  I love both of these sets!

I'm playing along with a few challenges...

Retro Rubber #39 - Flowers
Card Concept #56 - Inspired by the pink / cream and flowers - Style??  Clean and simple or Clean and layered -- one of the two! :)

Thanks so much for dropping by!  I appreciate you!!

Punny Dino

Hi everyone!  It seems like its been AGES since I posted a card.  I got hit with a nasty headache this weekend and I'm just starting to function again!

I decided to go to my challenge notebook for inspiration to get crafting again, so I chose the Sugar Pea Designs sketch from a week or so ago and the Cupcake Inspirations challenge to make a "punny" card.

I used the Prehistoric Pals set from Sugar Pea for my image and sentiment and went with this somewhat odd color combination because it matched the first piece of patterned paper I had chosen... but then I decided that I like this one better.  : )

Patriotic Zinnias - Share Joy #36

Hi friends!

My afternoon stamping time was spent doing some watercoloring on this CAS card to play along with the Share Joy (CAS) and Time Out (Flowers) Challenges.

I watercolored the Zinnia Bouquet from Taylored Expressions and then stamped a sentiment from the Wildflower Bouquet set.  I cut it out with a stitched rectangle from Your Next Stamp, matted it on a piece of patterned paper to add to the Fourth of July feel and mounted it on a scalloped die cut for color.

You're Fantastic

Hi friends!

I was looking through the cards I need for next month and found I needed a "love" card, cuz my husband and I will be celebrating our 29th anniversary!  I saw this digi on Etsy this morning and fell head over heels.  Sooooo sweet!  So I colored him up for a quick and easy card.

Here's the link to Elena's shop if you would like to get him, too!

I'm going to enter the Paper Players challenge again - another CAS card with a wild animal! :)

Simply Purple

I'm back today with a card made from my nemesis color - purple.  In fact, when I showed it to my daughter she said something like, "That must be for a challenge, because you don't like working with purple!"  LOL  I am so predictable! : )  Well, yes, it does happen to be for a challenge or three!

The Time Out Challenge is looking for a clean and simple card with a twist of purple.  The TicTacToe challenge this week had a line of chevron, resist technique, and a bow.  And the Love to Scrap challenge is Anything Goes.  TaDa!

I stamped my chevron stripes (MFT) up the side of my panel first, then stamped my flowers (Gina K) in Versamark before clear embossing them.  I sponged over the embossing with Lovely Lavender ink (Gina K), then added my bow and a sentiment (Verve).  I finished it off with white gel pen dots and some sequins, then matted it and attached it to my cardbase.

Thanks so much for dropping by today!

CASometry - Take Two and Giveaway Winner!

Good morning!

I'm back with my second card for the CASometry Take 2 challenge using the sweet Better Together set from Neat and Tangled.  I had fun making a little scene today using some watercoloring and patterned paper.

This makes me think of my son when he was little.  I could just picture him standing there with his stuffed animal and being SO proud of himself  for having written this on my wall... and having no idea why I wasn't as thrilled to have him practice his handwriting in red marker!

I'm also entering this in the Paper Players challenge to make a CAS card with a wild animal on it.  Of course, my wild animal is stuffed, but... :)  I'll tuck this in the monthly Little Tangles challenge, too!

And the winner of the Better Together set, per Random.org, is #6 which is ... BRANDI R!

Be sure to contact me with your address, Brandi!!

Blessings!

Your Next Stamp Sweetness

I just love this Woodland Cuties set from Your Next Stamp!  I followed this week's sketch to make a sweet and simple card.  That bunny absolutely melts my heart!!  I had found this little pile of coordinating patterned paper and cardstock the other day when I was cleaning, and was thrilled that there was just enough of the patterned paper to do the sketch.  I love it when that happens!! : )

Buzzing By to Share Joy

Yay!  I get to play along with the Share Joy challenge this week!  It's been awhile!  I pulled out the sunflower wreath set, because I was looking to add some sunshine to this sort of gloomy day.  I followed the sketch for this week's challenge, and managed to follow the tic tac toe board as well with yellow leaves, and scallops.  I'll be sending it out to share sunshine with a  friend this week!

Owl Send You a Hug

When I was browsing through my Feedly this morning I found mention of a CASometry challenge by Anna Kossakovskaya where you use the same stamp set for 5 different challenges.  I ran downstairs to create, since the first round is almost over.  My set will be this sweet Better Together set from Neat and Tangled (remember, there's still a few days to enter for the one I'm giving away!).

I needed some inspiration, of course, so I decided to play along with the Time Out Challenge to CASE Kay Miller.  Here's my card...

Soft and sweet colors, coloring and a few sequins.  Sigh.  What a fun challenge, Anna!  Thank you!!

Tropical Anniversary

OK, so I'm not exactly sure that there are swans in the tropics, but I liked the idea...   And I'm really hoping that the snowflake paper looks like stars... : )

Here's the Sugar Pea sketch I was inspired by...

I used the Everyday is Christmas set for the swans and an old anniversary sentiment that I picked up from the Michaels $1 bin many years ago.  I googled a tropical sunset to help me with my sponging on the circle. : )

The Happiest of Birthdays

The Mod Squad Challenge this week is to make a retiform card which I haven't done in a-g-e-s!  I pulled out an old favorite - Bloom Mini by Gina K - and a few of my ink pads and got to work.  It's really a fun technique, and I'm glad the gals reminded me to do it!  I used Sweet Corn and Innocent Pink ink for my sponging and Honey Mustard, Black Onyx and PTI Melon Berry for the stamping.

I'm also entering this in this week's Stampin Smiles Tic Tac Toe challenge with the row - flowers, birthday and masking, since I had to mask off parts of the flowers to fit them in the frames.

Brrr-thday Smiles

I was downstairs stressing out playing in my stamp area earlier and decided to clean my desk the unconventional way.  I would take bits and pieces that I came across on my desk and make a card with them.  Soooo first I saw the green banner on the floor.  That would be my inspiration.  I found this piece of patterned paper in a corner of desk and remembered that the Cupcake Inspiration challenge was bunting.  Great!  The Verve Inspiration colors were orange and green and blue, and since I had those colors in the paper I started to look around for Verve stamps, but then I saw Waddles and decided he looked bunting-ish, so I went with him instead.  After coloring him up with Spectrum Noir markers, adding some gel pen accents and cutting him out, I tried to decide how I wanted to add the sentiment.  Blue banner? No - looks too sad.  Orange banner? No - looks too loud.  Then I saw the sand scalloped circle in a little pile of diecuts.  Perfect!  I cut a coordinating circle of ivory cardstock, stamped my greeting and added a few heart enamel dots.  I decided to keep the card super simple,  so I just layered my banner on orange cardstock and attached it to an ivory base.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!!

A Neat and Tangled Giveaway

Hello friends!

Look what my daughter got me for Mother's Day -- this super sweet Better Together set from Neat and Tangled that I had absolutely fallen in love with.   I was all ready to buy it myself earlier last week and she had to tell me it was already coming, so I ordered the dies to match and some sequins instead.   I feel sooooo blessed!

For my first card with my favorite little girl in the set, I made a little shaker element with some of the pearl necklace sequins, as well as a few pink ones that were included with my order.  I watercolored the little girl and her pal with distress markers and Tombow markers and cut her out with the dies.  Love!!

To give her dress a paper pieced look, I simply dabbed a few different color pink markers on her dress and blended here and there - ever so lightly - with water.  I added some white highlights with a gel pen and popped her up over the background.

Now, here's the fun part!

There was a little mix up on my order and I received an extra stamp set, so the gals at Neat and Tangled said I could share it with one of YOU!! (Which is super cool, because it is sold out on the site right now! :) )  Soooooo.... to enter, simply leave a comment on this post and come back and visit again sometime!  It would also be nice for you to 'like' the Neat and Tangled FaceBook Page, but that's not required.  And it would be nice if you'd share the giveaway with your friends, but that's not required either. : )  Be sure to comment here by Sunday night, May 15th and I'll announce the winner on Monday, OK?

Here's a picture of the full set...
Isn't it SO cute????

Thanks so much for dropping by!

Ooooo - I just saw that there is a Neat and Tangled Anything Goes challenge live!  I'm entering this over there. :) And I'm putting this in the Girly challenge at Love to Scrap, too!
