Cardinal Rest

I got happy mail today! : )  I picked up this gorgeous Cozy Cupfuls set during Power Poppy's holiday sale and it came today.  Of course I had to use it right away!!  I combine it with a retired Script background stamp (SU) and a pretty scripture stamp that I picked up a number of years ago at Hobby Lobby.  I watercolored my cardinals with distress markers, sticking with the Kraft, Red, White colorway that this week's Card Concept picture inspired and I added some torn edges and distressing to give it more of a vintage feel that would match the pile of pretty bowls.  My style, though??  I think it would be vintage and layered??  Or clean and vintage??  Not sure on that one!  I used the sketch from The Challenge, and, since this was a new set, I'm entering this in Simon Says Stamp's Wednesday Challenge as well.

ETA:  Thanks, Karen, for the Word Art Wednesday heads up!  I entered a card yesterday, but I see I can enter up to 5 a week, so I'll enter this one, too!

TTFN!! : )

This is a beautiful card. Your watercoloring is perfect, and those images are sweet. Love this color palette too. It's funny, I have that same sentiment stamp, but have never seen it posted on a blog before this one. I love this oldie but goodie stamp! Really a great take on the sketch, and such a pretty card. This is absolutely adorable. We are so blessed you joined our Challenge weeks ago and would love for you to join our new Challenge still ongoing at Word Art Wednesday. Want to leave you with the inspiration of the Scripture in 1 Corinthians 2:9-10 which says, "But, as it is written, “What no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man imagined, what God has prepared for those who love him”— these things God has revealed to us through the Spirit. For the Spirit searches everything, even the depths of God. " Have a lovely week.
