{Stamp Simply} Deepest Sympathy

Hello again!

I have a card to share today that combines some gorgeous fall leaves from the JustRite Small Cling - Oak Leaves set and a sentiment from the NEW Stamp Simply set - Deepest Sympathy.  It's another set with that GORGEOUS font.  LOVE!!

I stamped my leaves on Ranger Watercolor paper with archival black ink, then clear embossed them before watercoloring them with my Distress Markers.  The sentiment is also clear embossed.  I added a strip of dry embossing on the bottom of the card and separated it from the main image with some Bakers Twine and a seam binding ribbon bow.

{Stamp Simply} Birthday Wishes

Wasn't that a fun blog hop yesterday?  If you weren't able to stop and see all the gorgeous cards, be sure to do it today so you can get in the drawing!  Today I have another card to share - this time using the Birthday Wishes set.

I wanted to play along with the 200th sketch at Freshly Made Sketches, so I chose the JustRite Romantic Wild Roses set as the backdrop for my pretty sentiment.  Don't you just love the font??  After stamping my image and sentiment,  (following the Color Throwdown colors for the week!) I cut my cardstock as shown in the sketch, layered it on a piece of black cardstock and then stitched around it with my sewing machine.  I added some rhinestones and a 3D flower before attaching it to the card base.

After I lined the inside of the card with the largest of the Celebrations Pierced Rectangles, I cut a skewed strip of orange cardstock and stamped it with the Happy Birthday sentiment from the set.  I added a 3D flower and another greeting from the set to finish it off.

Stamp Simply Clear Stamp Release & Blog Hop

Hello everyone!

Welcome to my stop on the Stamp Simply Blog Hop!  What a beautiful new release we have to share with you!!  Have you visited my other design sisters' blogs yet?  You can find all the links HERE. on the Stamp Simply Blog.

The card I have to share with you today uses the new Wedding Wishes set.  I actually cut the Wedding Wishes sentiment into two pieces, so I could stack them like you see on the card.  Of course I can always match up the halves and stamp them longways if I'd like later! :)

I followed the Viva La Verve sketch for my layout, because it worked perfectly with the wedding theme.  The circle became a doily and the heart was lovely cut out with the Celebrations Pierced Heart die.

For the inside of the card, I inked up the gorgeous 1 Corinthians 13 stamp with Versamark ink, then with my Turquoise ink, and finally with a Charcoal Brown ink around the edges.  After I clear embossed it the lettering stands out so nicely!
I'll be sure to link all the supplies I used down below....

Of course, it wouldn't be a blog hop without prizes, so don't forget to leave a comment on each of the blogs you visit.  Each designer will be giving away one of the new stamp sets   -- winner's choice! The comments will close Friday night, 8/21 at 6 pm EST.  Winner's will be announced Saturday morning at 8 am EST over on the Stamp Simply blog.

{Gina K Inspiration Blog Hop} Back to School!!

The Cast and Crew of Gina K Designs welcomes you to another fabulous Inspiration Blog Hop! Gina and the Cast and Crew will inspire you with many fun projects for your students, their teachers, and your friends in the teaching profession!

As you hop through the blogs of Gina and the Cast & Crew, make sure to leave a comment on each of them because we will choose a random commenter to win their choice of a Gina K Designs stamp set - up to a $23.95 value!

To see if you won, check the Big News Forum at StampTV a few days after the hops.

Today we're featuring stamps from Melanie's set Basket Additions 3, combined with other fun sets available in the Gina K Designs Store.

For this little notecard I used a Spellbinders Long Scalloped Rectangle to cut a card base from GKD Kraft cardstock.  I stamped an apple from the Bounty of Blessings set on GKD Heavyweight White cardstock, colored it with Spectrum Noir markers and cut it out.  I popped it up with 3D foam over a strip of GKD Black Onyx cardstock on which I wrote "teacher" with a white gel pen.  I added the words "for my" from the Basket Additions 3 set, and then swiped the edges of the card with white ink.  The final touch was a Dark Chocolate Twisted Twine bow.

For my second card, I colored the school supplies from the Basket Additions 3 set and the wagon from Beyond Baskets.  I used paper from the GKD Poppy Prints pack to make my background, and added an appropriate sentiment for a teacher or a mom sending her children off to school from the Stamp Duo Little Things.  I colored a couple of pearls black with my Spectrum Noir markers and added some twine for a little embellishment and texture.

Well, that's it!!   I hope you've enjoyed today's hop and are all excited to start stamping !!  I'll give you the list of my fellow designers again, in case you're just getting started... otherwise, you can jump right over to the shop to check out the stamps and supplies you saw on today's hop! :)

{Happy Day}

Just a "for fun" card today, playing along with the sketch and color challenge over at Your Next Stamp.  I colored up a Lily of the Valley image with markers and colored pencils and used some patterned paper from Gina K in the background.  I moved the little tag in the sketch to the top of my panel rather than the bottom, to help balance the image a little better.  Fun sketch and challenge!

{Stamp Simply} Watercolor Fall

I am SO ready for fall - but why is that??  I love the warm weather and the green grass.  I love the leaves on the trees and the sound of the cicadas and red-winged blackbirds, too.  Somehow, though, when the afternoon sunlight filters through the trees to the ground below and gives that autumn shadow I just start to look forward to cool days, warm sweaters and hot chocolate. : )  I guess that's why my card today is fall-ish!

I did a little masking to make my pumpkin patch, stamping my pumpkins in Versamark ink and then embossing them in white on some Ranger watercolor paper.  Masking and stamping when you've stamped VersaMark on white is quite a feat, let me tell you! :)  After my images were embossed, I used my Distress Markers and a small brush to watercolor them.  I stamped a verse from Verve in the corner and used a Celebrations Pierced Rectangle to give it a frame.  Then I added some ribbon and enamel dots to balance out my panel.

Thanks so much for looking!  I'll link my Stamp Simply shopping list below!

{Stamp Simply} Choose Joy

Hi everyone!

It seems like all of my cards lately have a JOY theme!  I'm so grateful for my husband's good progress after his brain surgery that it is overflowing into my cards. : )  Today's card uses the gorgeous JustRite set Romantic Wild Roses.  If you like this set, RUN, do not walk, over to Stamp Simply and pick it up right away.  JustRite is no longer making stamps - so this won't be around for long!  The sentiment is from another JustRite set called Choose Joy.  I love the fonts on this one!  Other fun things that I used on my card??  Let's see... Rhinestones, because cards always look better with a little sparkle, Celebrations Pierced Circle dies, to tie in with the stitching around the rectangle, some pretty ribbon and string, and (in the background) a piece of patterned paper from the Simple Stories I Am pad.

Holiday Hugs

Hi everyone!

Just dropping in to share a "just for fun" card today!  It's Dare to Get Dirty week over at Splitcoaststampers and I wanted to make a card for one of the challenges that would use the sketch from the Your Next Stamp challenge.  Unfortunately, although I love YNS stamps I don't have any yet, so I pulled out a sweetie from my retired The Angel Company stamps and watercolored him up instead.

I'd love for you come over to SCS and play in my challenge!  It's an easy one, I promise!! :) You need to be a member of the Fan Club, but it is really worth it.  SO much inspiration and encouragement there!!

Here's the YNS Sketch...
