Sharing More Joy

Hi again!

I'm back with another Share Joy card.  I was so late with the last one that they almost overlapped! : )

I followed the sketch provided, with my normal "wonky" panel, and used the Zinnia Bouquet as my image.  The sentiment is from Verve.  I watercolored my flowers with Distress, Tombow and SU markers and stamped both the image and sentiment in VersaFine Black ink.  The paper is some I got from the Stamp Simply Ribbon Store - Simple Stories Pumpkin Spice.  I'll be sending this along to an SCS friend soon!

Thanks for looking!

Share Joy Ornament Card

I was inspired by the picture of the decorated tree for this week's Share Joy Challenge, so I made a faux ornament card.

I stamped the snowman from Ready, Set, Snow onto watercolor paper and watercolored it with Distress Markers, then cut it out with a Stitched Circle die from MFT.  I backed that with a Spellbinders petite scalloped circle and layered it on a doily from the Stamp Simply Ribbon Store.  The scalloped rectangle is a combo of two dies.  First I ran it through the scalloped rectangle die from MFT's Blueprints 23, then I ran it through with the piercing from the SB pierced rectangles set (SSRS).  The paper is Wild Rose Studios Painted Poinsettias (SSRS).  I tucked a piece of gold string in between my top two layers and hooked it over the top of my base layer to make it look like it was hanging from the tree branches.

My card is for one of my online stamping friends over at SplitCoast.  Hopefully I can get it out today!! :)

Calming the Waves

Hi everyone!

I've had this digi from DeeDee's Digis printed out on my desk for awhile now and when I was looking for something fun and easy to color tonight - since my mojo is hiding somewhere! - I decided that it would be perfect in the colors for the Cupcake Inspiration challenge! :)

By the way - Deedee's Digis is closing at the end of the year and all her digis are 75% off in the store right now.  Be sure you swing by, I know you'll find something fun!

My card is sweet and simple - watercolored with Tombow and Distress Markers, cut with a Lil Inkers Stitched Rectangle die and matted with Wild Cherry and Kraft cardstock from Gina K.  The sweet enamel dots are from the Stamp Simply Ribbon Store.

Blessings!

{Coffee Lovers Blog Hop} You Warm my Heart

Hello friends!

I'm joining in with the Coffee Lovers Blog Hop today with this card featuring Hot Cocoa Phoebe from Your Next Stamp.  I always have a personal goal to use a stamp set at least once for each dollar I paid for it.  I think Phoebe is well paid for, cuz she is SO fun to color that I've used her a ton!

I followed the sketch and colors from the YNS Challenge #29, using some My Mind's Eye On Trend paper, and watercoloring my image with Distress Markers.

I'm entering this in the Christmas / Winter challenge over at ChouxChoux Paper Arts, too!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!
Have fun hopping!!

{Stamp Simply} Blessings

Hello dear friends!

I'm stopping in today with a Christmas card that features the pretty Winter Wonderland paper from Pebbles and the JustRite set Gift of Christmas Sentiments - both from The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store.  It's such a clean and simple design that would be easy to duplicate if you still have lots of cards to make - especially if you left off the stitching.

The pretty crystal in the center of the snowflake is from a Prima Say it with Crystals combo pack.  Not only are their multiple colors of adhesive backed crystals, but there are sequins, too!  What fun!

Now the sad news... this is going to be my last post as a Stamp Simply Design Team member.  I'm taking a break from designing for a little while to regain my focus.  A lot has happened in the last year and a half with my Mom's death and my husband's brain surgery, so I'm going to take a break from deadlines and just stamp for fun.  Feel free to put me in your blog reader or sign up for new post emails because my posting might be sporadic this month!! :)

OK, that's out of the way - here's the best part... My Stamp Simply Shopping List!!

{Stamp Simply} Many Thanks

Good morning and Happy Thanksgiving to my friends here in the States!! I hope you have a wonderful day with family and friends!

Since Thanksgiving seems to have become the opening of the Christmas season I wanted a card for today that hinted at both holidays.  I settled on a Thank You sentiment, a Christmas paper pack, and a warm and cozy owl. :)

Mr. Owl can be sort of intimidating.  Here's some of the tricks I used on him...

* Cut the owl body out of a lighter color than his wing.  I used a piece of DCWV adhesive cork for his wing to add some texture.

* I cut a piece of green patterned paper with the bottom of the die and then cut out the leaf portion.  I glued these leaves to the owl diecut, and I handcut another leaf to give it more dimension.

* I used a Spectrum Noir marker to color the owl's beak, eyes and ears.

* I cut a piece of paper and adhered it behind his eyes so he didn't look hollow. :)

* I cut the scarf out of patterned paper to add some color.

Sending Hugs

I wanted to make a card for the Share Joy challenge on this snowy morning, but my stamp room is such a disaster that I needed LOTS of inspiration!!  Soooooo.... I took the theme from the Curtain Call...

and the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches...

and came up with this...

Now why I didn't use the sketch from the Share Joy challenge is beyond me.  I think my mind shut off halfway, KWIM?  So apparently that means that this must be a clean and simple card.  :)  And, while it is fairly clean and there is lots of white  blue space, I think it is more clean and layered.  Sigh!  Hopefully they'll let me play anyway!  I think I'll tuck this in a Christmas package to a friend that will be going out this week.

I watercolored the sweet little fox from the Ready, Set, Snow set from Taylored Expressions with my Distress Markers and used some cool adhesive cork paper that I got from Stamp Simply, as well as some patterned paper from the Pebbles Winter Wonderland pad, for my background.  A little twine and some sparkly snowflakes (that I got as an incentive in my last Gina K order) added some texture.  The sentiment is from TE's So Much Love set.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!!

{Stamp Simply} Merry and Bright

Aren't the colors in this new Wild Rose Studio Winter Bauble paper lovely??  They make such a pretty holiday card!!  I layered a teardrop circle die that I embossed with the Holly embossing folder over my background and then topped it with Create a Snowflake flakes that I stamped with the small snowflake from the Signs of Christmas set.  The sentiment is from that set, as well!  Some enamel dots and a pretty floofy bow out of wrinkled ribbon finish it off.

{Sugar Pea Designs Sketch Challenge} Prehistoric Birthday

I got the Prehistoric Pals set in the mail today from Sugar Pea Designs and went to work making a card with the sketch challenge...  well, pretty close at least!  I'm afraid my watercolor background needs a little work, but it's pretty cute in real life.

I stamped the inside with the volcano and the "I Lava You" sentiment.
My husband thought it was great! : )

Here's the sketch...

Wishing You Joy

More and more these days I find myself drawn to watercoloring my images rather than using copics.  I just love the ease of shading and the fact that I can do larger images more quickly and not feel like I've just used up half of the ink in a really expensive marker.  Today I watercolored a sweet digi from Your Next Stamp called Rosie Rabbit Gift.  I think it is probably supposed to be a Christmas stamp, but I think with these colors I can use it now.   I'm going to enter this card in Jennifer McGuire's Share Handmade Kindness Challenge. : )  I can't tell you who I'm giving it to, cuz she reads my blog, but I'll be giving it away later this week!

I used the Your Next Stamp sketch for the week and pulled some papers from MME's Notable 6x6 paper pad.  I did change the position of the bottom strip to fit my sentiment a little better.  I hope that passes! My bunny is watercolored with Distress Markers and a thin brush.  The sentiment is an OLD $1 stamp from Michaels.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.
I hope you'll be inspired to share some kindness, too!

Blessings!

{Gina K Designs Inspiration Blog Hop} Sparkling Christmas Stamp TV Kit

The Cast and Crew of Gina K Designs welcomes you to another fabulous Inspiration Blog Hop to celebrate the brand new Stamp TV Kit - Sparkling Christmas! Gina and the Cast and Crew will inspire you with many fun projects!

As you hop through the blogs of Gina and the Cast & Crew, make sure to leave a comment on each of them because we will choose a random commenter to win a grab bag of Gina K Designs products!  To see if you won, check the Big News Forum at StampTV a few days after the hops.

My first card today features the fun, whimsical reindeer.  Such a quick and easy card using some of the Sparkling Christmas patterned paper and a few dies.  To dress up my reindeer a little more, I colored his scarf and boots and added a red nose and a golden bow.  The sentiment was stamped on a strip of black cardstock with Versamark ink and then embossed with white embossing powder.

My second card is simple as well.  This time I embossed a piece of Prickly Pear cardstock with a snowflake embossing folder to use as the background behind my main image.  I masked the snowman and stamped some pine trees behind him, then added a gold bow at the top to make it look like an ornament or a gift tag.

Well, that's it for today!  I'll give you the list of my fellow designers again, in case you're just getting started... otherwise, you can jump right over to the shop to pick up your kits and any other stamps and supplies you saw on today's hop.   And don't forget to visit me on Friday in the Stamp TV Addicts Group for another edition of Friday Funday!
See you then!!

{Share Joy} Puppy Birthday

Hi everyone!

I've been stamping like a crazy woman the last few days...  I think I made, umm, 18 cards or so?  But I finished the Hope You Can Cling To challenges just now, so I think it will go back to a more respectable 2 or 3 cards a day now. :)

I wanted to jump on the blog and share my Share Joy card for this week using the TE Watson set and the sketch..  The sentiment is from a JustRite set called Furry Friends...

So what's better than one Watson?  TWO of them!!! : )
My daughter wanted it for her birthday in January, but I'm thinking it will go to my daughter in love instead since her birthday is this week! :)

Thanks for stopping in!

{Stamp Simply} Delight

For my Stamp Simply card today I took a springy set and made it fallish by adding in a blackbird and some fallish-colored flowers.  The paper is from the new Simple Stories We Are Family 6x6 pad.  Aren't they pretty colors??  I used a verse from Verve split into two sections as my sentiment.

{Share Joy Challenge} Buzzing By

Hi everyone!

I've been busy stamping, but I haven't taken the time to take pictures, so I almost forgot to post my Share Joy card this week!  I used the bee from the sweet Sunflower Wreath set to make a clean and simple card...

I think I'll tuck this in a package I'm sending to a friend today.  Just a quick hello!!

There are a few more hours to play along with the challenge if you haven't already!!

{Your Next Stamp} Heartwarming!

Hi friends!

Guess what I got in the mail today???  A super sweet set from Your Next Stamp!!  I fell in love with Hot Cocoa Phoebe during the last release, and I was so excited to be able to get her!! : )  For today's card I just used the sweet snowman and a sentiment and (mostly) followed the sketch on the YNS blog...

I watercolored my little snowman with Distress Markers and layered him over some patterned paper from Gina K Designs.  You can't see it well in the picture, but the snowflakes, words and edges of the snowman sparkle with Stardust gel pen.  He's such a sweetie!  I can't wait to make a card with Phoebe as well!!

{Stamp Simply} Wishing You Joy

It's official.  The Christmas season has begun at my house, because we watched Muppet Christmas Carol over the weekend. : )  I love that movie!!  So, since I was in a Christmas mood and one of the Splitcoaststampers Hope You Can Cling To challenges was to use red and white stripes on your card, I decided to combine the two!  The paper is from Simple Stories Claus and Company.  Doesn't it remind you of one of those peppermint sticks that you used to be able to get?  Not candy canes, but the straight thick peppermint sticks.  Mmmmm.....

Anyway!  I cut out three snowflakes with my Create a Flake Six dies and sponged around them with red ink.  I added some Festive Poinsettias in white ink and then stamped and embossed my sentiment.  I found some buttons in my stash that I dressed up with some burlap string and then finished off the card by adding a pierced border.

Here's my Stamp Simply shopping list!
