{Gina K Designs} Time to Celebrate!!

Hello, everyone!

Did you see the news?  I've been asked to be a designer for Stamp TV and Gina K Designs!  I feel so privileged and honored, and I couldn't wait until Monday's blog hop to share a card made with the new Stamp TV Kit that debuted last night.  And the sentiment is so appropriate to how I feel!

For today's card I started by diecutting a piece of watercolor paper with a Spellbinders rectangle. While it was still in the die, I used a wide watercolor brush to
wash it with water.  (My DD had picked up the brush in an inexpensive pack of children's paintbrushes!) I scribbled ink from four distress markers onto an acrylic block and picked up each color in turn with my brush, covering the paper in broad strokes.

After drying my paper with my heat gun, I stamped the small orange dots from the new floral set in the Stamp TV kit.  Then, using my GKD Black Onyx ink pad, I stamped the flower and sentiment.  My flower needed some leaves, so I inked up just a small part of the leaves and stems stamp and centered it over my flower.  Since the stamps are clear I could place it perfectly!!  I colored the flower just a little with a copic marker before I took my focal image out of the die and matted it on some Black Onyx cardstock., and then onto a Mango mat that I had embellished with three black brads.  A piece of gingham ribbon peeks out between my layers.

Thanks so much for stopping in today!  Be sure to drop by again on Monday.   I'll have a number of cards made with the new kit to show you during the Blog Hop!!

Blessings!

{Stamp Simply} Recorded Glory

Hi everyone!

I've been slacking off on my Viva La Verve cards lately, so I pulled out this Verve Plain Jane verse from The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store and paired it with some pretty blue and yellow paper from the Webster's Pages Recorded pad.

I cut out the verse with a Standard Circle die and sponged it with a bit of blue and yellow while the die was still on it.  I layered that over a Fancy Tag, then stitched and embellished to my heart's content... roses, Venise lace, pearls... AHHHHH!!!! : )  The sketch is   from the Viva La Verve Challenge blog.

Here's a list of the Stamp Simply Ribbon Store products that I used.

{Newton's Nook Designs} Grillin' Out!

Happy Memorial Day!

For my last Newton's Nook Designs Guest Designer post, Winston, from the May release set Winston's BBQ,  is joining with families all over the neighborhood as they grill out after the Memorial Day parades are past.  I'm not sure if the stripes on his face are mustard or grease...  or maybe he thinks he's Tony the Tiger! LOL!!  I do like his snazzy, patriotic, paper-pieced apron, though!

Thanks so much to Jennifer and the DT for letting me play along with them this month.  It's been so much fun!

{Newton's Nook Designs} Inky Paws Challenge

Hi again!

I'm playing along with this month's Newton's Nook Designs Inky Paws challenge to use wood, cork or metal on your card.  Can you find mine??

Well, I thought the cool wooden looking frame from the new release set "Around The House" would count, but since I wasn't sure I added some metal staples, too. :)

I hope you'll have time to play along!  You can find all the details on the Newton's Nook Designs Blog HERE.

Thanks for stopping by today!

{Stamp Simply} Thanks to God

Isn't it nice to see the flowers come out?  I'm so thankful for the sunshine and warm weather after the long winter!!  For today's card I used my copics to color the iris image from the JustRite Botanical Medallions and Banners set and layered it with Spellbinders Classic and Scalloped Ovals.  If you don't have the classic scallops there are a lot of fancy ovals in the store that would work just as well for layering!

My background paper is from the Webster's Pages "Recorded" pad.  And, if you look carefully, you'll see some tulle ribbon that I gathered up to make a ruffle under the center band.  It's so pretty in real life, but it was hard to catch in the picture!

After attaching the seam binding and bow, I layered my card together and added a sentiment from the Verve "Joy for the Journey" set.

{Stamp Simply} Blomma Thoughts

I have a simply elegant card for you today, featuring some of the Anna Griffin Blomma Card Kit from the Stamp Simply Ribbon Store.  Isn't that rosette sticker gorgeous?  After making my base layers with the Blomma paper, I attached some seam binding to ground my rosette and added a Spellbinders sprig cut from white cardstock.  The sentiment is from the JustRite set Hugs and Kisses.  I centered it in the edge of a Spellbinders Label One die to make the little tag.  Just think how easy it would be to make a set of these as a quick graduation gift!  You could even package them in a clear box to make the presentation extra special!

{Newton's Nook Designs May Release} Around the House

Hi everyone!

I'm playing along with the Newton's Nook DT this month to show off their fantastic new sets that are just perfect for Father's Day!

Today's card uses a fun set called "Around the House".  I chose to make a little note that will be perfect to tuck in my husband's lunch box.  I colored my tape dispenser with copics, did a little selective inking on my sentiment to give it a two toned look, and then used a straight edge and marker to make a border.  I stuck it together with a few pieces of washi tape, since it seemed appropriate! : )  There are so many fun options in the set for little cards like this... great for Father's Day, or just to say 'I love you' to the
men and boys in your life!!

{Stamp Simply} Showers of Blessings

I have such a fun card to share today.  I made it tall and skinny so I could fit the Elegant Labels 4 die on the front.  I think the dimensions are 6" x 4 1/4".  The papers in the background are from the Kaisercraft Hopscotch pad.  Then comes the pretty Labels 4 die, and then my main image, matted with more Kaisercraft paper and stamped on a classic Labels 4 die.

The image and sentiment come from different sets in Stamp Simply's JustRite Baby Bundle.  I colored the stork with my Distress Markers.  No watercoloring this time, just straight coloring.  Aren't the colors crisp??

I finished the card off by stacking two seam binding bows together and tying them with some silver cord.  Now I just need someone I know to have a baby!! : )

One Layer Patterns

The Mod Squad challenge for this week is to make a one layer card, so I paired one of my favorite Stampin Up sets - Simple Delights - with a Verve Plain Jane and CASE'd a card that I found on Catherine Pooler's blog here.

Here's another angle...

{Stamp Simply} Simple Hello

Sometimes a simple 'hello' is enough, isn't it.  Just to know someone is thinking of you can certainly brighten your day!

My flowers today are from the JustRite set Seeds of Summer.  I stamped them on watercolor paper that I had embossed with a Labels 22 die to create a frame.  I watercolored them with my Distress Markers, then added a sentiment, some rhinestones and a ribbon.  The pretty background paper is from the Anna Griffin Blomma pad.
