Simply Elegant

Hello again!

I have a card to share today for the Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Old, New, Borrowed, Blue  Challenge.

We were to use something old (the Summer Blossoms swag stamp), something new (my newest Flourishes set - Easter Wishes), borrow a design from the gallery (I chose Stacy's card HERE), and something blue (CS, ribbon, and coloring).  I love the elegance of the font on this verse and I use the Summer Blossoms set all the time.  They make such pretty cards!!

Christmas in July!

Stamps:  Stampin Up, Studio G and Flourishes
DieCuts:  MFT
Embossing Folder:  Cuttlebug Paisley
Merry Christmas!

It's almost the end of July, so I thought I better sneak a few Christmas in July cards on the blog before the month is over. : )

I made these two cards for the Dare to Get Dirty challenges going on over at SplitCoast Stampers.  What fun!  There are 5-6 challenges a day for a week... and the possibility of prizes!  How fun!!  I'm filling up my card box and I'm sure you'll be seeing a number of them here over the next few days.  I have been using whatever stamps I want and mixing stamps and dies from all sorts of companies on the same card.  It's been very relaxing!  Now I need to go clean my stamping desk for tomorrow's challenges...  :}

Flourishes Recipe Challenge

Hello again!  My card today is for the Flourishes Recipe Challenge.  I kept it clean and simple, but I think I got all the parts.  I used my favorite bucket of tulips from April Showers and a pretty sentiment from Tag Lines as my focal image.

Thanks for dropping by!

Making the Most of Background Paper

Hello friends!

This morning's card is for another Flourishes' Birthday challenge that calls for a Christmas in July card.  I decided to let my patterned paper do most of the work for this one, and I just added some diecuts, bling and a sentiment from the Christmas Candles set. : )

I will be making a TON of cards over the next week for the DTGD challenges on SplitCoast.  I don't know as I'll post them all here, though... you might get tired of me!!

Have a wonderful Saturday!

Suffering

Week Four of the Viva La Verve sketches was such a wonderful sketch to work with!  I like the shortened front of the card and the opportunity to use one of my "pretty" dies with a gorgeous promise from Scripture!

Supplies:
Plain Jane stamp & Seam Binding Ribbon - Verve
Well Worn Greetings DieNamics - MFT
Border Punch - Recollections
Miscellaneous goodies from my stash... : )

Christmas in July

A quick and easy Christmas in July card for this week's Timeless Tuesday challenge to make a card that would be flat enough to mail.  The bow adds a little bulk but it could fit in an envelope with ease!

Sets used:  Flourishes' Tag Lines and Christmas Candles

Sunset Thanks

I had time to put together another Thank You card this afternoon.  Yay!  I'm getting caught up on all my challenges!  This time I followed the Paper Players sketch (with my card vertical instead of horizontal to accommodate my oval) and made an inked background for the "Color my World" Flourishes birthday challenge.  The stamps I used are from two Flourishes' sets:  Tag Lines and A Guiding Light.  Thanks so much for stopping by!

It's Black and White

My card for today is for the Black and White challenge at Flourishes.  I needed a sympathy card, and I thought these Lily of the Valley flowers from Flourishes' Botanical Bookplates set would be perfect.  The pretty die that I used for the sentiment is from Flourishes, too.  It's part of the Classic Keyhole Die set.  BTW... that color that I sponged in the background is grey.  It sort of looks green in the photo!

Thanks for dropping by!

Flourishes Challenges

I'm making up for lost time today! : )  My first card is for the Flourishes challenge to CASE one of the design team... Heather from Simply Handmade by Heather.  I absolutely LOVE Heather's style, but I'm not sure I pulled it off very well.  Let's see... designer paper - check!, Stitching - check!, A pretty flower image colored with copics - check!, and some ribbon - check!  Well, all the parts are there, but it is NOWHERE as pretty as hers always are.  Be sure to drop by and see her work!!!

My second card is for the 10 Minute Thursday challenge to make a 10-minute birthday card.   I stamped the Pansy image from the Botanical Bookplates set in pink ink to make my background and focal image, made a little tag, embossed a strip of cardstock and put it together.  Easy, peasy!! : )

I have a few more cards to make to catch up with the Flourishes challenges, so I'll be back later tonight or tomorrow! : )

Blessings!

Flowers for your Birthday

I needed to make a quick card this morning using last week's MFT sketch, since the deadline is 11:00 am my time.  I pulled out a number of DieNamics... 3x4 Notepad, Peek a Boo Dots, First Place Award Ribbon, and Fishtail Flag Layers... and one of my Go-To stamp sets - Peaceful Wildflowers.  I inked the flower stamp with various markers and added a few speckles with my never-get-rid-of speckle stamp from SU.  I think it's from about 1990!!  I played around with adding a little texture with aida cloth for my background.  I think I like it!

Triple Play

Hello again!

Did you think I fell off the planet??  It was SO hot here last week.  SO hot and we don't have air conditioning, so I didn't do much of anything.  I did try to make a card once...  The key word being try... but I didn't have much success!!

So today I needed to play catch up on a couple challenges that are closing soon.  This Flourishes challenge to make three mini cards closes in just a few hours, so I whipped up these three little thank you notes using the Spring Blossoms set.  SO simple, but perfect to add into my GraceWorks packages!!

See you soon with some more projects!!

Blessings!

A Card to Tatter

This month's Diva Dare was to use an uplifting sentiment and give your card a tattered look.  I made a combo sentiment from Surely Goodness and Small Phrases, and tried to do the "tattered" thing....  not sure I succeeded.  I suppose "Birthday Wishes with all my heart" aren't as uplifting as some of the other sentiments I have, but a birthday card that someone really writes in and doesn't just sign is one that I cherish and it gets "tattered".  I have a few birthday cards my Mom wrote in before her stroke that will always be precious to me, because I won't ever get another one.

I was SO sad when I made this card.  I can't find the larger Surely Goodness flower stamp!!!  AARRRRGGGGHHH!  I used it once and lost it.  And I love that flower!  SIGH.  I did have fun doodling on these smaller flowers, though.  I used an SU marker - the fine tip - and drew in dots and lines to give them some character. : )

Thanks for stopping by!

CAS(E)d Thanks

Good morning, friends!  I made a quick card for the CAS(E) this sketch using Surely Goodness and Circular Sayings from Verve.  The dies and cardstock are from MFT. And the white cardstock is from Flourishes.  What a mix of companies on one tiny card!!

Here's this week's sketch... (I'm really quick today because the sketch actually came through my reader last night.  Someone must have published on accident!! LOL!!  I hate it when I do that!!! : )

And here's my card...

Sweet Sunday Joy

I got a package in the mail filled with Verve goodies and I wanted to play with this Plain Jane right away... especially because it is HOT in my house because our air conditioning is broken, and I thought thinking about Christmas might help cool me off!! : )

I used this week's Sweet Sunday Sketch challenge for the layout.  Isn't it festive??  I love Christmas!!  And I'm linking to the Paper Players Christmas in July challenge too!

Thanks for stopping by!!

Viva La Verve - Week Two

Viva La Verve - Week Two

supplies...
Verve - Circular Sayings
MFT - Blueprints 1 and 3, Upsy Daisy, Leaf Filled Flourish

Deconstructed Sketch 108

I used Jen's Deconstructed sketch this week to make an Autumn feeling card.  I used Flourishes' Autumn Blossoms set, and Galatians 6:9 and Faithful Phrases from Verve.

Flourishes New Release Challenge

I needed a guy's birthday card this month, so I used the sketch for the Flourishes' new release challenge and put together this card using A Guiding Light and Tag Lines.  I watercolored the main image with Tombow markers and added some buttons -- the one with the teardrop shaped holes sort of reminded me of a sea shell.  I opted for staples to give it a more masculine feel.

Thanks for looking!

Going in Circles

The Flourishes Timeless Tuesday challenge this week is to make a circle card.  How fun!  I cut a base with my Scalloped Circle Die and added a layer of Magnolia dp.  The SCS Color Challenge this week was red, white and blue, so I used those colors on my flower spray from the Summer Blossoms set.  The little tag is cut with the MFT's Notched Tag DieNamics and the sentiment is Flourishes... from Botanical Bookplates 2.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Deconstructed CDS Mojo

How's that for a title??? LOL!  I've been having so much fun making cards lately and pulling out older sets that I haven't used for awhile.  Yesterday I wanted to make a card for one of the older men at church, and I remembered that I had a train set from Clear Dollar Stamps... somewhere.  It took some searching, but I found it.  And on the way I realized that I have NO men's stamp sets!!!  I need to remedy that!!

I used a Factory Green, Kraft, Soft Suede colorway for this card and did a little embossing on the green panel to mimic the dp... which was some older SU paper that I won last year... YAY!!  The sentiment is Circular Sayings from Verve and the sketch is the Deconstructed Sketch 107.  I'm also going to link this up with Stacey's birthday party linky party.  There are lots of fun prizes to be had!

My second card is a very clean and simple version of this week's Mojo Monday sketch.  Happy Anniversary, Mojo Monday!!!  It also uses a retired image from Clear Dollar Stamps.  I've always loved this little flower and its sentiments!!  Same colorway this time, with a little stitching, some twine, and a few dies from MFT.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
