Autumn Song Thank You Notes

My Dad called the other day and asked me to make him some thank you notes that were "not fancy".  I had about an hour before I was leaving for his house, so I grabbed my pack of BoBunny Autumn Song paper from the Stamp Simply Ribbon Shop and the pretty "thank you" stamp from JustRite's Christmas Labels Twenty and got to work.  First I cut and folded a number of white card bases.  Dad does NOT like to write on colored cardstock.  Then I cut my orange cardstock into 4.25" x 5.5" pieces for the card fronts.  I cut a piece of striped Autumn Song paper into 6, 1" x 5.5" pieces, and cut three other pieces in half (3" wide), then trimmed the length of each of them down to 5.5".  The panel that my sentiment is on measures 2.25" or 2.5"... it just depended. : )

After assembling all of the cards in the back of the group shot, which included popping up the sentiment and adding the seam binding knot, I was left with a number of 3" x 1/2" strips from cutting down my designer paper.  I decided to use them to piece together a background for the card in front, so I spread them across a white mat after I added a tiny strip at the end to make them fit.  I also had to add an extra strip across the bottom, but they were partial sheets I found in my bag of scraps...  "Waste not, want not!", as my mom would say! : )

Here are some pictures of the individual cards.  It made 7 total, but some were exact duplicates. : )

These are all lovely, Tricia -- very elegant! How fun to have your dad ask for your creations. That is the highest compliment, and I'm sure he loved these.
