Quick and Easy Sketch

I'm playing in a new challenge for me today using my Whimsy and Stars Birthday Turtle digi - Sketches by Carly.  Isn't the turtle cute?  I used some of the last paper pack I got from The Angel Company before they went out of business.  SO SAD!!! : (  It makes me even happier to be working with Mabelle from Whimsy and Stars, though, because she was one of my favorite illustrators in the TAC catalog!!

The little "happy birthday" is from Verve.  I'm going to wear that set out!!

Thanks for stopping by!!

You Quack Me Up!

Here's a little fun for today!  I made this card to follow the Viva La Verve sketch for this week, using the Lucky Ducky set from Verve.  I'm also entering it in the Krafty Thursday challenge over at the Spotted Chick's blog.

Rhubarb's Coffee

All together now.... Awwwwwwww!!  Isn't Rhubarb precious with his cup of coffee (or hot chocolate or tea if you prefer!)  I followed the Sweet Stop sketch for the week and used some paper from a DCWV mat stack that I got for Christmas.  I just love the colors!  The sentiment is from Verve's Small Phrases - which is quickly becoming a FAVORITE and the little heart is from the Verve die set that is free with a $35 purchase this month.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Splitcoast Sketch

I played along with the SplitCoast sketch for this week with this new image from Whimsy and Stars.  Isn't she sweet?  I also got to use the new little heart dies {{love these}} and sentiment from Verve and some more of my My Mind's Eye paper pack.  What a fun day in the craft room!

Gideon's Tag

Meet Gideon.  He's my daughter's favorite friend, and has accompanied us on many adventures.  Like to get Vera Bradley Bags in Oklahoma...

He's exceptionally photogenic... can you tell?  So when we were asked to make a tag for the Get Your Diva On challenge, Gideon kindly asked me to make one especially for he and K. Joy.

I used the Emery and Winnie the Pooh Plain Jane's from Verve and lot's of little scraps from my MME Stella Rose and Mabelle pack of papers.  I added a little stitching, some crimping, some pearls, a staple here and some ribbon there (some of which was dyed with my Copics to match!).  I colored Emery with assorted grey and pink ProMarkers and Copics, and then dropped it off for Gideon's approval.  He liked it so much he asked to get his picture taken with it.  : )

Thanks for looking!  I think I might go have a shake with Gideon!

VLV #3

Hi All!  I played along with the Viva La Verve sketch for this week using Verve's Many Blessings set.  Lots and lots of layers for this card!  I think I'll have to hand deliver it... or frame it. : )

The Verve release party was so fun last night.  I had gone through each of the release hops during the week and been inspired, and at the party I won a couple of sets.  It made my night!  I can't wait for them to come (right around my birthday... what a nice present!) so I can play with them and a couple others that I was able to get for my birthday as well!!

Blessings!

I'm really enjoying using up scraps on my desk to make these "quilted" cards.  Today I colored Sunflower Mimi Bug from Whimsy and Stars with my copics in these colors that remind me of Indian Summer.  The sentiment stamp is from Sweet n Sassy ("Hello, Pumpkin" I think??)  and is one that I haven't pulled out for a year or so.  The buttons and linen thread were other "have to have's" that I don't use nearly enough!

Here's my list of challenges for today...
Use It Tuesday:  Indian Summer
The Ribbon Reel:  Turquoise, Yellow, Green, Neutral
Stampin Sisters in Christ:  Use something forgotten

Mouse in Boots

Do you still use any of your older supplies and tools?  I pulled out my eyelets, narrow grosgrain ribbon and my mini zigzag scissors for this card, as well as some older SU paper and the Canvas background stamp.  Combined with the newer look of Copics and stitching, I think the old and new really spice each other up!

On a sad note, my Martha Stewart Lace Doily punch died the other day, and since I only had that and a plain scallop punch for my borders, I'm really missing it.  I'm wishing that I could find one of the SU scalloped border and corner punches from a year or so ago to replace it with, but we'll have to see.  Money is a little tight right now, so perhaps I'll just "make do".  Necessity is the mother of invention, right??? :-)

Sweet Mojo

Here's my all time favorite Whimsy and Stars digi, "Faith Flowers", with this week's Mojo Monday sketch.  I colored Faith with copics and cut and emossed with a Classic Spellbinder's Oval.  The long scalloped rectangle in the back is also a Nestibilities die, and the flags and tag were cut freehand.  I edged the tag with just a little Cameo Coral ink.  It's stamped in Close to Cocoa with "Many Blessings" from the Verve set of the same name.  And I even pulled out some of my old narrow grosgrain ribbon for the bows.  I love how soft and sweet it turned out!

Rhubarb in the Autumn

Have you stopped by the Sweet n Sassy Connection yet?  It's such a nice neighborhood!  I won a few of these new Rhubarb digis there (Now you *really* want to check it out, don't you??!!) and I wanted to play along with the digi color challenge to use orange, yellow and green.  I colored Rhubarb with copics and added a few dots with my gel pen.  The papers are bits and more bits from my scrap box, and the sketch is from scratch.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
