CDS Day 4 Sneaks!!

Do any of you have sons or daughters training in the Martial Arts? My 16 yo ds recently started karate and just loves it, so I knew immediately that I wanted to create with this set when I saw it! I made two cards with the set and tried to keep them very "manly" - so I could give them to my son when he graduates to the next belt level, or maybe after he competes in his first form tournament in a few weeks. It's hard for me to create without using ribbon, I must admit! I did get in a few brads and some tearing, though. It made me feel better. :-)

My next card, though, is totally opposite. It uses stamps from this month's Stamp of the Month set called "Topped with Class" that you can get for FREE when you spend $50 at the Clear Dollar Stamp store.
I stamped the pretty bonnet on white cardstock and colored it with Copics with lovely spring pinks and greens and blues. More micro brads, sheer dotted ribbon, grosgrain ribbon, stitching... Ahhhh.... Pretty & feminine!! :-)

OK - one more guy card. Not even any brads on this one! I used the beanie in the set along with a cute sentiment, and added lots of layers for some interest. Perfect for your favorite graduate or a little boy in your life!

So there you have it! And they will all be in the Clear Dollar Stamps store tomorrow! Happy shopping!!

CDS Day 3 - Farm Fun, Skating & News!!

Hay, everyone! :-) It's day three of the Clear Dollar Stamps April countdown and I have a gob of things to show you today!! First off, I have an adorable set by Wendy Hall to show you called Fun at the Farm. I used the cute horse and the haystacks for my first card and practiced my masking technique, so it looks like the horse is sitting in front of the hay. The animals in this set are just *so* much fun to color! Check out the chicken on the next card...

Isn't that a great saying? I colored the chicken with a ProMarker that I picked up at Ben Franklin and then added her feathers with an E37 Copic. The ProMarkers don't come in as many colors as Copics and they are a little harder to use because they have a bullet tip (think Sharpie pen) instead of the brush nib like the Copics. BUT they are under $3 each, and they blend just fine. I'm not sure if I'll get a lot of them, but it was definitely worth a try!

The next set that I'm previewing today is called Graceful Skater. I immediately thought of the Winter Olympics when I saw this set, so I pulled out a piece of "Frosted" paper and some premade snowflake doodads and made a quick and easy card.

Now... are you ready for some news??? Clear Dollar Stamps is releasing some digital images this month!!! Really! I have two of them to show you today that I know you'll **just love**!!

This first image is just so "deer"!! It has wonderful sayings with it, like Special Delivery, Sending Holiday Wishes and this birthday greeting. I just love it! There are a few nice things about digis. They cost less and they take up less room. It's hard to go wrong when you can get a set of 4 digi stamps for $3.00! :-)

All right, in my opinion I saved the best for last. Not only is this my very most favorite CDS Stamp of the Month set *ever*, made into a digi stamp set, but, I also got to use Clear Dollar's new Clearly Coordinating cardstock and ribbon!!! YAY!!! It's much lighterweight than I'm used to, and I wasn't sure how I would like it, but I do! In fact I really, really like it! I can layer and layer and still not have a "top heavy" card. It embosses beautifully, too!! And the colors! The ones I used were Lime Juice, Bubble Gum, Tickled Pink and Bee Pollen. Aren't they fun names?I can't wait to see the whole color lineup as it is released. *And* getting all this for an affordable price... Ahhhh. It makes me smile!!

Well, that's it for today! Tomorrow is the last day of sneaks and then you'll be able to start shopping!

Remember to visit the other gals on the Clear Dollar Stamps Preview Team for more inspiration!

Thanks for stopping by!

CDS Sneaks - Day 2!!

Good morning friends! My first two cards today are made with a fun new gardening set from Clear Dollar Stamps called "Bless My Bloomers". Mixed in with the seeds and gardening gloves, there are some fun birthday sayings like the one on the card above. Just be sure you send these to *really* good friends!! LOL!!

For my second card I used the heart bouquet from "Bless my Bloomers" and colored it with copics, then decorated the hearts with my white gel pen (that is out of ink now... I need to remember to get another one!) You could use these hearts for anything from Valentine's Day to Weddings and Anniversaries to just an everyday, "Hi". I love sets that are versatile like that!!

My last card for today features this month's Value Verses - Proverbs 3:5, 6. I think that I need to make up a whole packet of cards with these verses. They are such a convicting reminder!!

Thanks so much for stopping by today. Be sure to visit my CDS Preview Team sisters, and I'll see you back here tomorrow!!!

Cross Stitch Weekend WrapUp

I feel like I have *really* accomplished something. I finally finished my first 1 over 1 piece... this little Bent Creek Snowman from the Red Thread series. I was going to do the whole series - I even bought the border chart with the snaps and buttons, but when I saw the completed piece I decided to only stitch the two snowmen, since they were my favorites. If anyone would like the border chart, let me know!

I finished the little snowman into a pincushion filled with crushed walnut shells. It's really sweet and it will be hard to give away, but I already know who on my Christmas list it will belong to!!

About stitching 1/1.... I really don't like it. Although I do love the look now that it is done. I found I could only do it in the car in natural light, and it made stitching not so fun, but more like an endurance test. So... except for an occasional fob or so, (Like the Wool one from LHN which I have on my *must get* list), I guess I'll stick with stitching over 2.

Here's my stocking progress. I'm thrilled that I got all the blocks done and a lot of the border. I'm making progress. YAY! My dd might have a stocking by the time she turns 20!! LOL!

Other than that, I'm working on a pretty bookmark that I want to put in my Christmas box of gifts, I have the LHN Tiny House to finish into a... bag maybe?? And I would *love* to start one of my LHN Thread Packs. Probably "Patience". We're going to get to stop by The Stitching Bee next week and pick up the Robin Hood pattern for my dd, too. That looks like a fun stitch!!

Thanks for stopping by!! Be sure to stop back for more Clear Dollar Sneak Peeks tomorrow!

Wonderful New CDS Sets!

Christmas already?? Well, no, not really - this is just one piece of a *wonderful* new set that is being released April 1st at Clear Dollar Stamps called Heartfelt Sentiments. It is a collection of sentiments and images that will cover just about any occasion, and I *love* the font. This is definitely a "go to" set that I will use over and over. Be sure that you drop in on Lori's blog to see the full set!!!

My next card uses a simply fun set called Doodlebug. He is just too cute! I had the other two sentiments in the set in mind when I was coloring this card... "Feeling Blue?" "Try painting yourself a different color!" I think I'll add that to the inside when I'm ready to send it. :-)

My last card for today uses two single stamps - Closed Scroll and Congratulations Graduate. These will definitely get put to use at my house this year, as I have a few graduations coming up!

Be sure to drop by the other designers' blogs and see all the other fun sets being shown today, and come back tomorrow for Day Two!! :-)

I have some incredibly exciting news to share!!!! You just *have to* go to Lori's Clearly I Stamp blog and see!! Clear Dollar Stamps is introducing a line of *affordable* coordinating cardstock, ribbon and Tombow markers!! And there's even a chart for Copic marker and Embroidery Floss matches!!! Yes! It's true! The first collection - Summer Fun - is going to be available on April 1st and it is all bright pretty colors that will be perfect for our summer projects. I just received my samples, (which look like a rainbow!!) so I'll be able to share a card with you soon, I promise. :0) For now, hop on over to Lori's blog and see the fun that's in store. Way to go, Clear Dollar Stamps!!!

Pansies

I think some of my favorite spring flowers are pansies. Pansies and tulips. Pansies and tulips and lilacs. Pansies and tulips and lilacs and lilies of the valley... OK - so all spring flowers! :-) These particular pansies are from a Flourishes Set called Year of Flowers 1 that I got at Paper Garden Projects. These stamps are really easy to color. Something I just love! To color the pansies, I simply started in the center with my TerraCotta Promarker, then colored a little B02, then a little B00, Then a little Goo and then filled in the flower with E41, my new favorite color. I dabbed in a little yellow pastel around the outside and cut the focal image out with a classic rectangle nestie. Since this card is for the Paper Garden Embossing Challenge, I embossed a piece of River Rock cardstock with a Cuttlebug folder that I had inked with River Rock ink. Then I sponged a little Soft Suede around the edges for some definition. The paper is Farm Fresh by October Afternoon.

I really hope you'll join our challenge this week! There's a fun prize up for grabs!!

See you there!!

Clearly Inspired Sketch Challenge

Hello friends! It's "every other Friday" - so that means it's time for a new Clearly Inspired Challenge! This week it's a sketch challenge... which I sort of "skewed" by tilting my panels. :-) I used the *adorable* bear from Chuggin Along and the words from Wistful Wishes (which is an absolutely *must have* set and it's only $4.99!!) I colored my bear with copics - and I used my new E41 Copic on his paws and hair. I really like that color... it's the perfect color to make white paper look like Very Vanilla. :-) The little dots on his tummy were just made by dabbing it with the colorless blender after it had been colored. DP is Farm Fresh by October Afternoon.

Remember - you have a week to link up your entry to the challenge post. We always love to see your Clear Dollar Stamp creations, but feel free to join us, even if you don't have any of our stamps yet!

Just Hatched

It's digi day again with the Sweet n Sassy group! Today to get the free digi stamp you need to make a baby card. Well.... I really didn't have many baby images, so I used Cocoa in the egg instead and paired him with the "Just Hatched" sentiment from Clear Dollar Stamps. I think it works! :-) I hope you'll play along, it's such a fun challenge and everyone is so friendly!

Ooooo - I just saw that there are new digis in the Sweet n Sassy store. CUTE!!!

A Card for Ewe

I picked up these adorable digi stamps from Sweet n Sassy for a dollar. Can't beat that!! I played around with the words in my word processing program to make them different sizes and sitting on top of one another. I *really* like how easy it is to use digis in my Mac computer's Pages program!! I colored the sheep with my new E41 Copic... which I just LOVE, and colored just the head of a second sheep, so I could pop it up and tie a bow around its neck. I followed the Sweet Stop sketch for the week and I think this qualifies for the challenge's spin of Fuzzy Wuzzy, don't you?? :-)

Thanks for stopping by. I have posts scheduled from Friday through Wednesday, and hope to have one or two up on Thursday as well. We'll see how the next few days go!

Blessings!

I'm having so much fun visiting stitching blogs now, as well as stamping ones! Here's a fun giveaway that I found... Check it out!!

Think Spring!

Today is the third birthday challenge over on the Paper Garden Projects blog and it's an easy one. Simply make a card using spring colors!! I just *loved* this chance to pull out my copics and play with my Year of Flowers 1 set again. Aren't the flowers pretty?? I can't say I've ever seen a pink crocus, but that's ok! They match the Prism cardstock! :-)

If you look closely at the pictures, you can see that on the pink layer I used the Large Paisley background stamp. It doesn't show up very well on camera, but in real life it really adds some depth to the card. I used a Tutti Fruitti button and some ribbon as embellishments, and added some embossing and paper piercing to finish it off.

Remember to link up your card to the challenge post over on the Paper Garden Blog when you're done. Thanks for stopping by!!

Blessings,

Cocoa Mouse

It's digi day again over in the Sweet n Sassy group! Today's challenge was to make an Easter card, and the free digi set that you'll receive for playing is an adorable set of sentiments. :-) Can't wait to get mine! I had next to no time to play today, but Cocoa with his flowers was already colored, so I put together a quick card with a go-to layout - just leaving a little extra white at the top when I cut out my main image to leave room for a little bit of ribbon.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I'm *still* in catch up mode!! Yikes!

Blessings!

Hello Again!

Hello friends! I feel like I've been "out and about" for awhile! I went away with my dh this past weekend and got to shop til I dropped. :-) Lots of new cross stitch stash, a discontinued Yankee candle in my favorite scent (Blueberry.... mmmmmm.....) and a Vera Bradley Tote Bag. What a wonderful trip. Unfortunately, yesterday was spent at the funeral of a dear Uncle who had died last week, so I'm just now trying to get caught up, unpacked, etc., etc!

I made a quick card using a Value Verse from Clear Dollar Stamps for the Sweet Stop Sketch challenge this week. It is in *not* my favorite colors, so I almost didn't post it. But then my dd came in and said it was so pretty (she *likes) these colors!), so I decided that I would. :-)

I hope you have a lovely day. I hope to be back to posting regularly on Thursday! :-)

Blessings!

Feeling a little Fluey??

Isn't she just the cutest? (Do I say that about every stamp I own??? LOL!) This is Fluey Huggabug from Stampin' Bella and she was perfect for this week's "Anything Goes" challenge over on the BellaBlog. I paper pieced little Fluey's dress and colored her with copics... added some shading with pastels. The sentiment is also from Stampin' Bella and I'm always glad to have cards in my stash with such a sweet saying. Sometimes there's really nothing else that can be said.

Thanks so much for continuing to stop by and for your sweet comments. I appreciate each one of you!

Paper Garden Sketch Challenge!

The Paper Garden Birthday challenge this week is to make a card with any theme that follows this sketch...
Here's mine! I used this wonderful Spring Flowers set from Flourishes that you can find in the store here. This was my first time to use a set of Flourishes clear stamps, and I must say that they stamped beautifully!

I colored my Decoy Daffodils with copics and used blue and yellow pastels in the background. The paper is "Farm Fresh" by October Afternoon.

Link your card to the Paper Garden Blog by Midnight on March 22nd, to be in the drawing!

Thanks for stopping by and for your sweet comments. They make my day. :-)

Clearly Inspired Goes Green!

Super quick and easy today! This little green monster is for the Going Green challenge over on the Clearly I Stamp blog. To join us, just make a card that is mostly GREEN. :-) I used the Little Monster from Clear Dollar Stamps, and an older SOM set called Harvest Hellos for the sentiment. Can't wait to see your creations!!

Sweet 'n Sassy Digi Day!

One thing that I always seem to be missing in my stash is Anniversary cards. I simply never think to make them! So - since today's digi day challenge for Sweet n Sassy is to use a bird image, I decided to color this sweet violin & birdie image that I had printed out. It comes from a digi set called Melody of Love by Sweet n Sassy, and I love it because my dd and I both play violin. Well- I sort of play. She plays nicely. :-)

Here's the completed card...

Have a beautiful day!!

Tilda with Bee

Just a sweet and simple Magnolia card today! Lots of layers and a little bit of coloring. It's one of those cards that probably could use "something else" but it's cute in real life and I'm afraid to add anything to it, for fear I'll mess it up. :-) Unfortunately my E31 marker died while coloring her. Very sad. I use that *all* the time. I might have to try out MFT's refill service. Hmmm...

See you tomorrow!

Blessings,

Tricia

I can't BEAR it!

This little digi-stamp from Sweet 'n Sassy is un-BEAR-ably cute - isn't he! I followed this week's Sweet Stop Sketch for the layout, and used Basic Grey Wisteria paper and some PTI cardstock and ribbon. The little micro brads are from Clear Dollar Stamps.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! It looks to be another full week of posting. :-)

Thanks for stopping by!

Cross Stitch Weekend WrapUp

It's Monday! Which means it's time for another Weekend WrapUp of my *other* hobby... Let's see...My *favorite* finish of the week is "Tiny House" - a free chart that we got for being a member of the LHN/CCN Yahoo Group. I used a piece of linen from my stash and pulled out a number of overdyed floss colors that I liked.... paying no attention to the recommended colors. {{insert sheepish grin here}} I really, really like how it turned out. Really, really. Now I need to decide how I want to finish it. I'm thinking maybe a needle/scissors book. Hmmmm.... Hopefully I'll have it to show you by next Monday!

Here's the progress on the stocking. I did get 3 more blocks done and a little bit more of the bottom border worked. Yay! Slowly but surely! I'd really like to finish the rest of the blocks this week. We'll see!

And my last project for the week...I finished my Lizzie Kate Spring ABC's Snippet and made it into a little pillow. Next time I think I would use the recommended overdyed flosses... the DMC was a little bright. But it's cute and looks very Springy!

This coming weekend I get to make a visit to my LNS... which is 2 1/2 hours away. :-) I need to spend some time this week making a shopping list of flosses, fabric and a pattern or two that I'd like to pick up. I know she stocks lots of Little House Needleworks patterns, and I'd love to pick one or two up... it all depends on how frugal I can be this week. I'm really not sure what I'm going to kit up next. I have a 1/1 Bent Creek snowman that is half done - so I guess I'll finish him while I'm deciding. I would like to do the LHN Snow Bunny Ornament, too, but all I have is a hunk of tan colored linen here. Maybe I'll gather the threads and see how they would look on it. It would be a fun stitch.

Thanks so much for stopping by! You all encourage and inspire me!! Blessings!

Polka Dotted Turtle

I was so glad to get to play in the Bella-riffic Friday Challenge this past week! We needed to use polka dots, so I made my background "dotty" and paper pieced my little Turtle Tot's tummy with polka dotted paper. Otherwise he and his little bear friend are colored with copics. Isn't that sentiment just so sweet?? :-)

I hope you're having a wonderful weekend!

Happy Birthday Paper Garden!!

Guess what! March is Paper Garden Projects 2nd birthday! So... we're going to have a month long party, with challenges every Friday - and PRIZES!!

Our first challenge is an easy one. Just make a birthday card! Then link your card to the Paper Garden Blog post and come back next week to see if you've won! (While you're there check out the free digi set you can download!! FUN!!)

I made my card with the Impression Obsession set "Cupcake" and the sentiment is from Penny Black's "Critter Party". The paper is *so* pretty! It's by October Afternoon and is called "Farm Fresh. The sketch is this week's Sweet Stop Sketch #45.

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you can play in the challenge!!

Clearly Delightful March Challenge!

Meet my little froggy friend! :-) Isn't he precious? He's part of a 5 piece digi stamp set that you can get for free for participating in this month's challenge over on the Clearly Delightful blog!!

I had so much fun playing with the images. I pulled in two lily pads, the frog and a lily into my Pages program, and then just resized them - sending them to the background as necessary to make the frog and lily seem to sit on the lily pads. After I printed them, I colored the image with copics and cut it out with a Labels 4 Nestibilities die.

Here's the whole card...

I hope you'll join us for this month's challenge. Check out Laurie's blog for all the details on how to enter and to take a look at the prize available for one lucky participant. I'll put the sketch to use down below. You can reverse it, like I did, or use it as is. It's not hard and what a fun reward you get for playing!

Thanks for "hopping" by!!

Digi Day Revisited!

I had a little extra "playtime" today, so I printed out the free image that I got for participating in the Digi Day challenge (below) and colored it up. I stayed with the pink and yellow theme... but added in a little lavender to make it springy. Isn't it pretty?? You can still get this image free if you participate in the challenge by 10 EST tonight!

Here's the whole card...
Thanks for stopping by again!

Digi Day!

I'm so happy! It's Digi Day over on the SNR board - sponsored by Sweet 'n Sassy. The challenge is to use the colors pink and yellow. Easy! I don't have a whole lot of digis yet by Sweet n Sassy, but I did have this little Happy Bird by Clearly Delightful Designs that I thought would be adorable colored pink and yellow. I colored my birdie with copics, and kept my layout super simple, cuz if you post your card today for the challenge you can get two free digis from Sweet 'n Sassy!! :-) Yay! Here's the completed card...

Thanks for stopping by! Tomorrow I'll have two posts - one for the Clearly Delightful Monthly Challenge and one for the Week One Challenge of the Paper Garden Projects Birthday Celebration!! Be sure to check back!

Just Magnolia Birthday

You all *know* how much I love my little Tilda's - but with all the stamps that I have and get to work with for design teams, and whatnot, I have to *make* time to use some of my favorites! This week I decided to make a birthday Tilda, so I could enter her in the Just Magnolia challenge. I colored her (Tilda with Tulips) with copics to match the Basic Grey Wisteria paper that I pulled out of my stash. I think the colors are so rich! The sentiment is a combo of two different PTI Mixed Messages sayings. I just inked up the parts that I wanted.

Thanks for stopping by today. I hope you'll have a chance to stop by tomorrow!

Card Kit Tuesday!

Hello friends! It's Card Kit Tuesday again! Our last card kit winner was Linda W. Hopefully she's already received it!! For this week K. Joy put together a kit filled with this adorable Turtle Tots image from Stampin' Bella, some pieces of double-sided SU dp, a piece of textured Celery cardstock, a white card base and some ribbon & brads. Isn't he just the cutest thing?? I colored him with Copics and my SU markers (that's how I made all the dots on his tummy!) It's a really simple card, but I love how it turned out. You have to go see K. Joy's card, too! It's adorable!!!

Be sure to leave a comment on this post and K. Joy's post, and we'll draw a name on Friday to receive a card kit. :-)

Blessings!

Phindy's Birthday

I found a fun group on PCP called Phindy's Place with some adorable digital images. I used this "It's all Yours" image to make a birthday card for the last challenge. Isn't it precious? It's colored with copics and shadowed with pastels... and I think I'm about out of that ribbon. Sigh.

It will be a full week of blogging again, I think. I have a cross-stitch update post still to come today, tomorrow is Card Kit Tuesday, Friday is the day for both the Paper Garden and Clearly Delightful Challenges, and Saturday I'll show you my Bella-riffic Friday card. Wednesday and Thursday are reserved for "whatever challenge I want to play in..." :-)

Have a wonderful day!!

Blessings,

Tricia
