Final Day of Sneak Peeks!

Seriously now, isn't that frog just the cutest thing??? He's from this month's Stamp of the Month set called Critter Log. You won't want to miss it!! Remember, you can't buy this set, but you can get it FREE with an order of only $30.00 this month! It is *so* cute and it will be one you'll use over and over and over. Remember, though, the special is only good for the month of December, so start making your wish list now!!! BTW, aren't those big eyelets fun? I found some "vintage" ones in a basket of my Grandma's sewing things. I think they were actually to reinforce the holes in belts, once upon a time! My crop-a-dile sets them perfectly, and I just love the look.

The last set I have to share with you is actually 4 separate stamps - Patchpal Angel, Patchpal Heart, Patchpal Star and the You are an Angel sentiment stamp. I colored the angel with copics and added some glitter to her wings and some clouds to the sky. The heart can be seen stamped as a background on the pink, the sentiment is stamped on mulberry paper, and the star is hanging by some gold cord. I decided to make a notebook instead of a plain card, so I cut some copy paper down to size and stapled it into my cover. Then I stamped each page with the angel in pink. Wouldn't this be a fun gift for a little girl??

So, are you all ready with your wish list??? :-) We can order tomorrow! Happy Shopping!!

Here are the rest of the designers' links... be sure to give them some love in the meantime!! :-) Thanks for stopping by!!

CDS Sneak Peeks Day Three - Flowers & Verses

Hasn't this been fun so far?? I love this release!! Do you have a wish list started?? I do! Today I have a card with Ladybug Flower and the sentiment Don't Let it Bug You. I think we could all use a card with that on it from time to time! I actually pulled these colors from an "inspiration book" that I keep on my desk. It has color combos with pictures from old SU catalogs, sketches from blogs I visit and some other project ideas. I don't keep up with it very well, but every once and awhile I remember it and add to it. The colors I used were sand, moss, red, suede, and brocade. I sponged some lines on the moss for a background and used my deckle nesties and swiss dots cuttlebug folder on the brocade. I even used hardware! :-) The ladybug is colored with copics, surprise, surprise!! LOL!!

I think this card is one of my favorites from this release. It's so clean and simple. Lots of white space - but it really sets off the verse... Luke 1:37. The vase of flowers is from an older CDS set called Thankful for You. I paper pieced the vase, and then colored the flowers with Copics.

Be sure to see all the other fun creations from the other designers! See you here tomorrow for the last day of peeks and another of my favorite cards!

CDS Sneak Peeks Day Two - Need Gift Ideas??

The new set Quick Lists is so much fun!! It has words for all the more important lists you might need... Wish List, Shopping List, Honey-Do List... *and* it has checkboxes!! I love checkboxes!! I made a little Wish List for me to give to my dh for Christmas present ideas... Hmmm, what would I like??? Copics, a Vera Bradley Cosmetic Bag, a Starbucks gift card, some of the Labels Nesties, ribbon, paper, stamps.... Am I out of lines???? LOL!!!! Well, you get the idea! I stamped my Quick List and words and then used the snowman and bird from the Snowman Wishes set in the corner. There are pink clouds in the background just to make it pretty! :-)

This next little gift bag has sour gummy bears in it. Or maybe I should say it *did*. They were very good... ;-) The little tag is made with the Chubby Chickadee and What a Tweet stamps. I love the chickadee. He looks fat and fluffy and makes me want to pet him!! He's colored in Copics and the dp is Cosmo Cricket Early Bird. Hmmm... how appropriate!

My next card uses another individual stamp - the verse I Thessalonians 5:17. I've paired it with a previously released $1 stamp called "Poppy". This was a quick and easy card that I took the time to watercolor - something I haven't done for awhile. I simply stamped my image on watercolor paper and then used my waterbase markers and a Niji waterbrush. If you click on the picture you can see that I also traced the word 'Pray' with my red marker to give it some extra definition. Areen't all the individual stamps and sentiments this month been fun?? Which ones are your favorites so far??

My final project would be a perfect little bookmark for a friend, a quick note to someone who needs encouragement, or a sweet tag for a gift. I used the Flourish Cross (in pale plum) and the I Prayed for you Today sentiment (in Soft Suede).

Be sure to visit my DT sisters for more projects, and I'll see you back here tomorrow for Day Three!!

Fourth Friday Challenge!

** I have two posts today! Scroll down for today's Clear Dollar Stamps Sneak Peeks! **

Are you ready for a challenge?? Today is the fourth Friday in November, so it's time for the Paper Garden Projects Fourth Friday Challenge to use "Backgrounds". This can be a background stamp or a stamp used as a background like I did for my card.

First I stamped my Snowflakes by Impression Obsession in Versamark ink on white cardstock. I covered them with holographic embossing powder and heat set them.

Then I used navy ink and brocade blue ink to sponge around the embossed snowflakes, and added the word 'Joy' from a set by Clear Dollar Stamps. In honor of Black Friday, the twist for this challenge is to use the color black, so I pulled out my last piece of black cardstock (Note to self: Buy black cardstock...) and some black ribbon to put the finishing touches on the base layers and the sentiment. I added a little more "bling" to the snowflakes, mounted the layers on a base card of Nautical Blue Light cardstock and Voila - here's my card!

Be sure to look at the prize and link up your challenge card over on Cathy's blog - and you *have* to see her project. It's adorable! You have until midnight of December 4th to be in the running for the prize which is TWO background stamps from the store!!

I can't wait to see what you create!!!

BTW - be sure to check out the current Paper Garden Projects store specials! Copics and Penny Black Stamps and embellishments are all on sale!!

Blessings!

CDS Day 1 Sneak Peeks - Stegos, Smiles & Slippers

Yay! It's the first day of Clear Dollar Stamp sneak peeks! I have *so* many fun cards to show you this month. There are lots and lots of $1-$2 stamps being released this month. Great for last minute cards or gifts. I'm sure there are lots of us that could stand a few of these in our stocking on Christmas morning! Our children would probably like them too!! :-)

My first card is made with Teeny Stego and the Something to Roar About sentiment. I colored him very simply with Copics and added some grass under him to "ground" him. I inked up the sentiment with Not Quite Navy ink and then cleaned off the word roar (with my thumb...!) and used a marker to ink that word. I didn't want to add a bow since this is a "boy" card, but I couldn't help adding some stitching and brads. :-)

My next project is with Mr. Spike. Isn't he adorable??? He *absolutely* reminds me of the dog on Bugs Bunny and he definitely makes me smile! I decided to alter a piano practice book for my niece. (Aren't I a nice piano teacher??? LOL!) It's much more fun to practice when the book is cute!!
I stamped Spike on Kraft paper and colored him with prismacolors. If you look closely in the next picture, you'll see that there is no dp on this project. I used my white gel pen for the polka dots on the top and I simply drew vertical lines with a ruler for the bottom. Voila! Instant dp!!

I'll leave you for today with this sweet little baby card make with the Bunny Slippers and Snuggle Bunny Stamps. Lots of punches, a few copics, a little designer paper, some stitching and some dimensionals. Soft and sweet and babyish. Awwwwww!!!

Now don't forget to come back tomorrow!! There's so much more to show!!!! And dont forget to check out the other CDS designers. They have such *cute* things to share!!!

Penny Black Winter Wonderland

Just a quick card for the Penny Black Saturday Challenge of "Winter Wonderland". I'm off to take DMIL shopping at 5 am. I'm not a big shopper and I can't spend any money, so I'll just be the chauffeur and go to Starbucks. :-)

PaperTrey November Blog Hop

I'm excited to be able to participate in this month's PaperTrey blog hop because I have lots of little presents to wrap! This particular little gift includes a single serve package of Ghiradelli Peppermint Chocolate coffee and some peppermint stir sticks coated in chocolate. I even have a little box of Mrs. Fields peppermint chocolate truffles to go along with it... except I might eat them all first. They are *so* good!!

For my packaging, I covered an empty Planters Macadamia Nut Delight can with some dp from the PTI Rustic Snowflakes pack that I was given by a dear friend. (Thanks, friend!!) I made the tag by stamping the snowflake strip from Holiday Treats along the bottom edge of a piece of Poppy cardstock and mounting it on a handcut tag. The sentiment is from Holiday Treats as well. To give the little coffee cup in the middle of the sentiment some pizzaz, I colored around it with a BG10 copic. Then I added some steam and dotted my little cup with a white gel pen. I just attached the tag to the canister with pop dots, and then I stamped some tissue paper with the little snowflake stamp in the set, just so it would match. Fun, quick, easy... and it looks more expensive than it is!!

Thanks for stopping by!!

Blessings!

You're a Fossil!

OK, so the person you send this to needs to have a really good sense of humor, but isn't that sentiment great??? :-) It's from the newly release Clear Dollar Stamps set called Dinomite by guest designer Heather Rollin. I still want to make a card with the hatching baby dino. It's adorable!

I kept my card clean and simple, and actually it's only 3x3. It looks life-size in the picture! :-)

Have a great day!

Verve Project Parade

** If you're looking for the Paper Garden Holiday Garden Walk post, please scroll down! **
I've been following all the fun over on the Verve Project Parade and decided that I'd join in the fun since I had a gift to get ready for a friend that I'll be seeing tomorrow. I started with a mug that I got on clearance at Starbucks for $2.99 and added some coffee from Target's $1 spot and a few peppermint chocolate stir sticks (about $0.25 worth!). You know, it just occurred to me that my friend might read my blog.... hmmm.... well, at least she knows I'm frugal! ;-)

I don't have any Verve Christmas sets yet, so I pulled out my Because of You set and used the two flowers to make a poinsettia - which I layered on 2 Prima poinsettias and leaves. The Friend sentiment stamped in Navy coordinated with my cup and I added the red bow just cuz it was pretty!
Here it is, all ready to go...

Thanks for stopping by!!

Blessings!

You'll enjoy some wonderful Holiday inspiration on the way!! You should have reached my blog from Tangii's blog. If not, you may want to start back at Melissa's Blog, so you can be sure to be in the running for the prizes!!

As you walk, be sure to subscribe to each Gardener's blog if you haven't already, and take note of their name and the special treat that they have listed in their blog post. A comment is nice, too, if you have time!! When you're finished with the tour, send an e-mail to custserv@papergardenprojects.com with your list of the designers and their treats and, if your list is correct, you will be entered in a random drawing to win one of 3 prizes!! You need to send an e-mail to the address above; please don't leave your list as a comment!! You have until midnight (EST) on Nov. 24 to make your list and check it twice. :-)

Without further ado, here's my card ...

I used the ornament from the Impression Obsession set Snowflakes and stamped it in turquoise ink. I added lots and lots of shimmer and even a few borders with my Stardust gel pen. It really sparkles in real life!! After hanging my ornament with a silver cord, I used my watercolor brush to pull some color onto the ornament's bow and onto the holly in the middle. Then I added a few pearls to finish it off.

Simple and Sparkly. :-)
Oh, and by the way... my Holiday Treat is Sweet Songs.

So, do you want to see the Grand Prize??? It's fabulous! In fact I wouldn't mind winning myself! LOL! Here it is... a festive collection of Holiday paper crafting goodies!!

Clearly Inspired Sketch Challenge

There's an easy sketch for the Clearly Inspired Challenge today. I managed to make it *much* harder than it actually was!! LOL! I wanted to use the sweet Meowy Christmas set again and make a Himalayan kitten like Cassie did for her cards this month, so I googled the kitties and colored with my copics, then I paper pieced the stocking. Unfortunately after I added the bow there wasn't room for the sentiment in its "proper" place so the "Merry" from this month's Stamp of the Month set got moved a little. Lots of messy stitching and glitter on this one. Hopelessly homespun, I guess!!

Thanks for stopping by! I do hope you'll play along with us this week! You don't have to use Clear Dollar Stamps if you don't have any, but I'm pretty sure that once you try them you'll love them as much as I do!!!

Toasty Treasts for Fall

I used my Toasty Treats stamp by Impression Obsession again for today's card, but this time I stamped it on Naturals Ivory cardstock, then colored it with Copics and Prismacolor pencils blended with OMS. I have scads of birthdays this month, so I tried to use colors that could be fall-ish as well as holiday-ish.

Don't forget the Paper Garden Projects Holiday Garden Walk here this weekend! Look - here's a snippet of one of the prizes!!!

See you Saturday at 9:00 Central, 10:00 Eastern!!

Toasty Treats

Doesn't this image make you think of Starbucks??? Mmmmm.... :-) It's called Toasty Treats by Impression Obsession and I got it from Cathy at Paper Garden. I used the colors from the Copic Color Challenge for this week to color my image and matted it all on some Classic Red Prism cardstock. Have you used the Prism cardstock yet? It has a really nice weight for cards and it's got a "pebbly" texture on one side. I added some Stickles to the whipped cream and the marshmallows to make them sparkly and used a piece of velvety ric rac to break up the background. The sentiment is from PTI's Mixed Messages and is cut out with my old SU Deckle scissors and sponged.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Monochromatic Train

Can you tell that I love clean & simple cards? This vintage engine from Clear Dollar Stamps' new Railroad Memories set just lends itself perfectly to this style. I stamped the engine in Baroque Burgundy and sponged around the edges with Desert Sand Memento ink. A few layers, some pearls colored with my R59 Copic marker, some ribbon and my deckle scissors and Voila! A quick and easy card.

Digital Mousey

Isn't this digital image just the cutest?? I found it over at Sweet N Sassy stamps yesterday. I have a soft spot in my heart for mice. Not real ones, mind you... just cute little drawn ones!! I used the SNSS PCP sketch and colored my mousey with copics.

Sorry the picture isn't clearer... don't know what's up with it!! It's Real Red in real life!! :-) Oh - and what's even better, this card works for the Digital Tuesday challenge! Yea!! :-) I love combining challenges!

Praise the Lord

I spent some of my stamping time yesterday working on a card for the KL Stampin & Scrappin challenge to use Snowflakes and the Just Magnolia challenge to use distressing. I found this little Magnolia girl in my stash of images and thought she would be perfect for a Christmas card. I used some K&Co and Basic Grey dp for the background and stitched it onto my card base, then I distressed an oval (that is stamped with snowflakes... although they are hard to see) as a mat behind Tilda and her Christmas bench, which are colored with Copics. I added a few more punched out snowflakes topped with Stickles and dew drops, and a distressed tag stamped with a sentiment from Clear Dollar Stamps "Pretty Little Scriptures" set to finish it off!

Thanks for stopping by!! I hope you have a beautiful Lord's Day!

Blessings,

Tricia

Enjoy the Season!

I've had so much fun playing with my new stamps from Paper Garden that I just had to show you another card! :-) This one uses the Snowflake Clear set from Impression Obsession. I stamped one of the smaller snowflakes in white ink on Kraft cardstock for the bottom layer and then stamped the largest snowflake in red for the focal point. Really an easy card - even though it looks fairly elegant! Thanks for looking!

A New Challenge!!!

Today is a wonderful day! It's the first day of the new Clearly Inspired challenge over on the Clearly I Stamp blog!! Join us every other Friday for a new challenge with a wonderful Clear Dollar Stamps prize up for grabs, lots of inspiration from the my design team sisters and even a chance to be in the "Top 5"!! You don't even have to use Clear Dollar Stamps - but we'd love to see them if you have them. :-)

Our theme today is "Take 5" - since it's Clear Dollar's 5th birthday. I used a fun set that I just got called "Snowman Wishes" and made a little scene that made me laugh. :-) I used Cosmo Cricket dp and colored with Copics and add 5 brads across the bottom.

I do hope you'll join us!!!

Blessings!

Tricia
