Penny Black Challenge

Here's my Penny Black Saturday "White on White" challenge card for today. Isn't this a fun way to make elegant and easy Christmas cards?? I love it!!

Have a lovely, lovely day!!

Last Day of Sneak Peeks!

Are you familiar with the Stamp of the Month program that Clear Dollar Stamps has? Every month a limited edition stamp set is released that's not for sale, but you can get it FREE when you place a $50 order! This month's SOM is Mouse Dreams with this adorable dreaming mousey. Isn't he (or she??) sweet?

In the spirit of getting ready for Christmas, I used a couple of the new single stamps that are being released to make a gift list for myself. I half of a jr. legal pad and covered it with a cardstock cover, then used the Gift Trio and Acts 20:35 verse to decorate it. I love the verse and thought it was a perfect one to use on a notebook you were going to use to fill with ideas of things to give away! :-) I love the "dollar" stamps that CDS sells - there are a number of them being released tomorrow - both images and sentiments - and I have at least 3 or 4 on my wish list!!

So there you have it! Aren't they fun?? Be sure to visit the other designers, and if you have a minute, I'd love to hear what your favorite of the new sets is!!

Here's the sneak peek list again...

Day Three Sneak Peeks!!

My first two cards today feature the new "Mini Christmas Scriptures" set. There are *wonderful* verses in this set - both the "normal" Christmas verses, like "For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord." - but also verses like the one on the card above . Christ over all. Blessed by God forever.

I enjoyed using "non-traditional" colors on this, and for some reason - maybe the shape of the layers? - the holly wreath reminds me of a crown of thorns. Truly, though, isn't that the real message of Christmas?

The second card is my attempt at a little paper pieced scene. Along with the sentiment from the Mini Scripture set, I used the tree from Tree Delight Tags, and just cut off the little star from the top of the tree.

And for my last sneak peek today, I have a card from Meowy Christmas by Shawne Arnold. Isn't this little kitten such a sweetie?? Now this is the "before" picture... Be sure to check out the Clear Dollar Stamps gallery or start following my blog so you don't miss the "after" picture later this month. Let's just say kitty doesn't look so sweet any more!! :-)

Can you believe that we still have *more* sets to show you tomorrow??? Aren't these all *so* fun??? Be sure to check out the other designers' posts and I'll see you here tomorrow!

The Peace of God - Sneak Peek Day 2

Isn't this verse beautiful? Its design, yes, but the *truth* of it as well. I made a paper flower with my Boho Blossoms punch and some Cosmo Cricket paper (Early Bird) and added some punched fronds, but other than that I kept it very simple to keep the focus on the verse itself. I know I'll be using this stamp often!!

There are a number of other sets being revealed today, so be sure to visit my other dt sisters!! I know you'll be inspired!!

"Fall" to Layout!

Do you have some "fall to" layouts? This is one of my favorites for my narrower Magnolia images. The card size is 3 x 6 - or a 6 x 6 sheet folded in half, and it fits the 3 smallest long rectangle nesties just wonderfully!

I colored Stylish Tilda with copics in fall colors so I could play along with the KL Stampin & Scrappin challenge. She's matted on some Cosmo Cricket Earth Love dp, and the little banner is dp as well. The sentiment is from Clear Dollar Stamps.

I hope you have a chance to play along in the challenge. There's a lovely prize up for grabs!!

See you tomorrow for some more Clear Dollar Sneak Peeks!

Railroads and Dinosaurs! Day One Sneak Peeks!

I *love* the last four days of the month when I can finally show you the fun Clear Dollar Stamps that I've been working with! Today I get to introduce you two sets - Railroad Memories and Dinomite - and they definitely *are* dinomite!! :-)

The first card is made with the Railroad Memories set and is quite clean and simple. I used all reds (well, except for the track...) since one of our dt challenges was to do a monochromatic red card. The dp is from a little K&Co mat pack that I have. I think I've used almost the entire pad. Love it!
The next card is from one of my favorite sets of this release. Isn't this little dinosaur sweet??? One of my blogging friends sent me the doily and it just worked perfectly for framing my little purple friend!

Be sure to stop by the other designers' blogs for more cards and even some more set previews! And remember that you can always see the full reveal of the stamp set on Lori's blog.

See you here tomorrow!!

Time for Christmas Cards!

Aren't you excited??? CDS sneak peeks start tomorrow!!! Yay! But, I wanted to leave you with one last card from this month's release using the set Christmas Scriptures. I love the verses in this set and the fact that there are so many different fonts represented. For this card I simply stamped my verse in Not Quite Navy ink and cut it out with an oval nestibilities die. I then chose the next larger size scalloped oval die and cut that out of green dp. Then I trimmed down the piece of green dp with the oval cut out of it and positioned it around my image to make a "reverse mat". It's a fun look and very quick and easy! The little Christmas tree is from the Tree Delight Tag set that was one of my fabulous finds in the CDS store. Only $2.49 for an adorable little set of 7 stamps!!

I'll see you back here tomorrow!!

Blessings!

Happy Winter

My dd and I are accumulating quite a collection of Charlie the Horse images from Clear Dollar Stamps. This stamp is from the adorable "Charlie Snowhorse" set. I think he's supposed to just be a snowman, but I decided to use the little Christmas tree image that was in the set to make tree branches, so it would look like Charlie just got a gob of snow dumped on him. :-) If you click on the picture you should be able to see all the "snow" (aka Stickles!) on the branches.
The sentiment is a combination of two sets - the 'happy' is from Patchpal Scarecrow and the 'winter' is part of a sentiment from the Charlie set. The colors are for the Weekend Color Challenge over on PCP.

Thanks for stopping by!

Lots of Challenges!

It's been awhile since I did any of the challenges on SCS, so tonight I combined the color challenge (burgundy, vanilla, coral & artichoke) with the sketch challenge and even added a "buttony bow" for Joanne B's blog challenge. :-) How fun!

I used the Elzybell set "From Me to Ewe" and the "Pretty Little Scripture" set from Clear Dollar. The little hills are actually a Memory Box stamp I picked up at my LSS. If you click on the picture you might be able to see that I sponged in some clouds. In real life it looks like my little sheep is staring off into the sunset. Awwwww.....

Thanks for stopping by!

Rejoice!

The Holiday Nutcracker set that was released this month at Clear Dollar Stamps has this beautiful poinsettia stamp that I just had to use. I colored it with copics and popped up part of the image to give it some depth. The dp is all from K&Co and I used my rectangle and scalloped rectangle nesties to cut and mat the image. So, what was your favorite newly released set this month? Isn't it hard to choose?? And, just wait! November's sneak peeks start in a week, and you will *love* them!!!! Blessings! Tricia

New Menu Planner Book

Kitchen Tilda is gracing my "Captain's Log" - the master binder of a month's worth of menus, recipes and shopping lists that we are creating over on the GraceWorks blog. I colored Tilda with Copics and printed the "from the Kitchen of" sentiment from my computer.

Could your current menu system use a jumpstart?? Feel free to stop by the challenge - (it started on September 28th)!

Think Pink

Lisa picked a wonderful challenge for us today for the Clear Dollar Stamp Weekend Color Challenge... Think Pink - in honor of October's emphasis on Breast Cancer Awareness. I hope you'll join us!! I used a few new stamps that came in the mail yesterday... I couldn't have them just sitting there looking at me!! :-) The little birdhouse is a $1.25 stamp, and the beautiful Scripture verse is from a wonderful set called Pretty Little Scriptures. It's a set of 10 for only $7.99. I love the font and the verses included are wonderfully encouraging.

Another clean and simple card. A little stamping, a little coloring with copics, a cuttlebug folder, some ribbons, a button, my nesties and a few dimensionals. Sweet and simple.

Have a blessed weekend!

Wheeee!

Just a quick fun card today, for the Paper Garden Projects design team call. I used a sweet fall Fluffles image, colored it with Copics and popped up Fluffles to give him some dimension. There's nothing fancy here but lots of my favorites... a cute stamp, copics, watercoloring, the Swiss Dots cuttlebug folder, circle nestibilities, layers, dimension and brads. :-) It makes me happy!

Have a lovely fall day!

Blessings!

Harvest Hello!

Today I have a fun card from the newly released Stamp of the Month set Harvest Hellos from Clear Dollar Stamps. I used one of my favorite fall color combos - navy and mustard - for this card, and kept it very clean and simple. A couple of notes. I pulled out my mulberry paper to make this card. Do you still have any around? See if you can find it and add it to your next project. It adds such pretty softness to a card! The other thing that I tried for this card was to color my pearls with my copics so that they would match the card. Isn't that fun?? You really need to try it.

Remember, the Harvest Hellos set is FREE with a $50 purchase this month at Clear Dollar Stamps. Yay!!

Be Merry Mojo!

Hi, Everyone! It's Katlyn. I made this card for the Mojo Monday contest, and Mom said that I could post it here so that I could enter it by the deadline! :) I used all Clear Dollar Stamps. The tree, ornaments, and words are from the set "Charlie Snowhorse", and the fox is from the set "Woodland Critters". The image is colored with Copics. I just love our Copics. :)

Thanks for looking!

Mustard Poinsettias??

Ok, so I can't really say that I've ever seen a yellow poinsettia, but I needed to use the colors Bermuda Bay (mine's actually Taken with Teal...), Mustard and Silver for this weekend's color challenge on Papercraft Planet. I got to play with two sets that Clear Dollar Stamps released this month - Holiday Nutcrackers and Christmas Scriptures. I colored my poinsettia with watercolor crayons and cut out my image with a oval die, then lopped off the ends, cuz it fit my card better. I like the curved tag kind of look that it gives. My image panel is edged with Encore silver ink and the dp is from Cosmo Cricket.

I hope you'll join us this weekend!

Blessings!

Hello Kitty

Did you see all the cute cards done with this little kitty from the Patchpal Scarecrow set during the Clear Dollar Stamps previews?? I love him! I decided to use him to look over the word FALL. Isn't it fun that the words fit right inside the circle and scalloped circle punches? So quick and easy! Every month, Laurie, our design team leader gives us the challenge to create some cards without designer paper, so for this card, I took the single leaf stamp and used it to make a border across the top and bottom of the card. I like how it frames the card without detracting from my image.

Thanks for stopping by today! Be sure to visit the Clear Dollar Stamps Gallery for more inspiration!!

Whiff of Joy Challenge

Whiff of Joy has a fun sketch challenge for World Cardmaking Day. A great prize, too! I used Henry Mouse celebrating with his cupcake and colored him with Copics. I kept the layout clean and simple - so Henry could shine. Literally! The cupcake and flower are covered with stickles. :-)

Thanks for looking!

World CardMaking Day

I'm wanting to get in lots and lots of stamping today, but each card takes me an hour! So... instead of making lots of cards, I'll just be sure that each card is for more than one challenge. This sweet little Tilda card, for example, is for two challenges. The Just Magnolia challenge to use handmade flowers (mine are made with an SU punch) and the Paper Garden Projects challenge to make a fall inspired card. I think the colors are fall-ish, and her camouflage colored apron makes me think of deer hunting! :-)

I hope that you'll have a chance to stamp this weekend! There are lots of great challenges out there to get your creative juices flowing. I think the next one I'll try is from Whiff of Joy.

TTFN!

Weekend Color Challenge

Meet "Charlie Autumn"! Another of the Charlie Horse line from Clear Dollar Stamps. Isn't he fun?? He's actually my daughter's, but she shares nicely. :-) I used the colors from this weekend's color challenge - Orange, Orchid, Green Galore, White and/or Black.

I colored Charlie with prismacolors and blended with OMS - a really quick job, cuz I didn't have a gob of time to play tonight. I did a very quick and simple layout with minimal embellishments aka a "mailable" card. {smiles} I hope you'll have time to join the challenge this weekend! See you there!!
