Final Day of Sneak Peeks! Winged Whispers

My cards for today use a beautiful new set that will be available at midnight tonight from Clear Dollar Stamps... Winged Whispers. My first card uses the sparrow and some dp that I found in my stash by Flair. I love that it has music on it, because the sparrow reminds me of the hymn - "His Eye is on the Sparrow". I watercolored my sparrow with watercolor pencils and a waterbrush on naturals ivory cardstock, then cut it out with oval nestibilities. The layers are embossed and torn and distressed to match the designer paper, and everything is tied together with gold cord and a button for a touch of elegance. Hmmm... distressed elegance? Is there such a thing?? LOL!

Supplies:
ALL CDSTAMPS STAMP SETS USED: Winged Whispers
CARDSTOCK AND PAPERS: Kraft, Ivory Naturals, K&Co DP, Flair DP
INK: Caramel, Memento Desert Sand, Tuxedo Black
MARKERS (if any):none
ACCESSORIES AND EMBELLISHMENTS: Waterbrush, gold cord, paisley cuttlebug folder, large oval nestibilities, sponge, button
COLORING MEDIUM (if any): watercolor pencils & waterbrush

My second card is colored with prismacolors and oms. I love my copics and can hardly put them down, so I have to *make* myself color with different mediums occasionally!! I used some older SU dp layered on some K&Co dp for the background layers, and did more sponging and tearing. I even pulled out my eyelets. I hate to have neglected embellishments! :-)

Supplies:
ALL CDSTAMPS STAMP SETS USED: Winged Whispers
CARDSTOCK AND PAPERS: Caramel, White, Ivory Naturals, K&Co DP, Wanted SU DP
INK: Rust, Cocoa, Chocolate Chip, Tuxedo Black, mustard
MARKERS (if any):none
ACCESSORIES AND EMBELLISHMENTS: eyelets, scrappers' floss, pearls, cropadile, sponge
COLORING MEDIUM (if any): prismacolors and oms
SPECIAL TECHNIQUES (if any):

Don't forget that the other CDS designers have more to share, too!! I'm heading their way now!

Day Three Sneak Peeks - Dog Days

I only have one set to preview for you today, but it's such a cute one!! Dog Days is a set of 18 doggy sentiments and images that will be released by Clear Dollar Stamps in just a couple of days. October 1st to be exact! This set was so full of potential that I honestly didn't know what to use first. For my first card, I decided to follow an inspiration challenge that Laurie, our DT leader, had given us. It was a pair of yellow shoes with black polka dots. It reminded me of a spotted bumble bee! With that in mind, here's my card... How did I do??? LOL!!

Supplies:
ALL CDSTAMPS USED: Dog Days
CS AND PAPERS: Whisper White, Black, Summer Sun
INK: Memento Tuxedo Black, Fresh Snow, Summer Sun
MARKERS (if any): none
ACCESSORIES AND EMBELLISHMENTS: 1 1/4" circle punch, sponge, zigzag scissors

Dog Days is an adorable set for anyone who's a dog lover at heart... like my daughter! I made her this little bookmark and post-it note holder for her desk and she loves it! The bookmark is a "scrapling" - the little piece left over when you cut a "normal" card base down to a 4.25" square. I simply colored little doggy with prismacolor pencils & oms, cut him out and attached him. I didn't use dimensionals, because I didn't think they'd stand up very well being squished in a book. ;-) I used a Basic Grey magnet inside, so it will clip to the page.

The little post-it note holder is a variation of this tutorial. I didn't use the chipboard, just cardstock for the covers. Here's a picture of the inside. I just love the extra strength and the classy look that the inside mat gives!

Supplies:
ALL CDSTAMPS USED: Dog Days
CS AND PAPERS: Whisper White, Pumpkin, Rust, K&Co dp
INK: Memento Tuxedo Black, Pumpkin, Teal
MARKERS (if any):
ACCESSORIES AND EMBELLISHMENTS: 1 3/8" circle punch, scallop circle punch, white gel pen, brown grosgrain ribbon, staple, basic grey magnets (for bookmark), dimensionals, post it notes
COLORING MEDIUM (if any): prismacolors & OMS

Ready for more previews? Be sure to visit the other designers blogs!! There is *wonderful* eye candy out there, and four other sets that are being unveiled!!

Day Two Sneak Peeks - Christmas!

Welcome to Day Two of the Clear Dollar Stamps Sneak Peeks! Can you believe that I'll be showing you Christmas sets today??? I'm so excited! I love Christmas!!!

The first card that I have to show you is from a set called Christmas Scriptures, although for this card I didn't use one of the verses, but the "Merry Christmas" sentiment - which actually comes as two seperate stamps to make it easier to position just how you'd like it. I used the sentiment with one of my favorite CDS sets called "Genuine Love". If you're a regular visitor to my blog you might recognize it!! :-) Some design notes on this card...

The *adorable* little snowflake charm is from the Clear Dollar Stamps store. Isn't it *perfect*?
To get the "suede" look, I swiped my bordering blue cardstock with Fresh Snow pigment ink, then stamped my snowflakes. Be sure to allow time for the ink to dry!! (Don't ask me how I know this...)

Supplies:
ALL CDSTAMPS USED: Christmas Scriptures, Genuine Love
CS AND PAPERS: White, Bordering Blue, Ballet Blue
INK: Palette Grey, New Canvas, Ballet Blue, versamark
MARKERS (if any): none
ACCESSORIES AND EMBELLISHMENTS: White gel pen, snowflake charm (CDS), Half Pearls, Silver Embossing powder, heat gun, sponge, large oval nestibilities, gingham ribbon, doily punch
COLORING MEDIUM (if any):
SPECIAL TECHNIQUES (if any): heat embossing

This next card uses the single verse stamp - John 3:16 - that will be released on the 1st. I used - well how about that! - I used the Genuine Love stamp set again to make my own designer paper for the background. (I told you I like that set!). I cut out the rectangles with my Long Scalloped Rectangle Nestibilities. I wasn't sure how much I would use them, but - wow - do they come in handy! I stamped the verse in Memento black and then embossed it on the vellum with clear embossing powder.

Supplies:
ALL CDSTAMPS STAMP SETS USED: John 3:16, Genuine Love
CARDSTOCK AND PAPERS: Ruby, Rust, Mustard, Kraft, Swirl Vellum
INK: Palette Noir, Ruby, Rust, Mustard
MARKERS (if any):none
ACCESSORIES AND EMBELLISHMENTS: Long rectangle Nestibilities, brads, sponge, embossing powder, heat gun
COLORING MEDIUM (if any): none
SPECIAL TECHNIQUES (if any): tone on tone background, heat embossing

The last set that I have to show you today is my daughter's favorite. She loves Nutcrackers! I colored this particular nutcracker king with pretty fall colors... Sand, Olive, Rust, Gold, and the overall effect would be a pretty Christmas card even if the colors are "non-traditional". There are beautiful sentiments included in this set, as well as a poinsettia and a few more nutcrackers, all for only $9.99. I just love the value of these sets!!

Supplies:
ALL CDSTAMPS USED: Holiday Nutcrackers
CS AND PAPERS: White, Rust & Sand CS; Rust, Moss & Sand DP
MARKERS (if any): copics - E00, E31, E33, E37, E43, E49, E51, E55, G99, R02, YR00, YR07, YG91, YG95, C1, W5, Y26, 0
ACCESSORIES AND EMBELLISHMENTS: long rectangle nestibilities, sewing machine, swirl ribbon, gold cold
COLORING MEDIUM (if any): copics

Be *sure* to visit the other designers for more sneak peeks. Along with the sets I've previewed you'll find Charliene Baking and a set of Christmas Blessings that you won't want to miss.

Fall Sneak Peeks - Day One

Are you ready for fall??? I actually got out all my fall things today, even though I have *so* much to do! The warm colors are just my favorite!! Another favorite thing that I get to do today is to share previews of three new sets that will be released October 1st at Clear Dollar Stamps.

My first preview uses the set With Thanksgiving which has this beautiful verse from Psalm 100 and a couple of other sentiments that I haven't had a chance to ink up yet. Isn't it pretty??? I decided that I wanted to make a box to corral all of my CD cases full of nestibilities, so I played around with some measurements and made a *very* simple box out of burgundy cardstock. The dp that I used was in my stash and is from Flair - and the image - well, it's Charlie from last month's release of Charlie's Harvest! He is *so* fun to color!!

Here's a close up...

Let me know if you're interested in the measurements and I'll see about posting a tutorial later in the month, ok??

Supplies:
ALL CDSTAMPS STAMP SETS USED: With Thanksgiving, Charlie Harvest
CARDSTOCK AND PAPERS: Burgundy, Flair DP, White
INK: Memento Tuxedo Black
MARKERS (if any):R29, Y17, E43, Y21, E51,E33, R22, YR07, Y26, R22, E49, E55, BG10, YG63, G99, R59, YG11, YG67, E00, E37, YG95, E31, YG91
ACCESSORIES AND EMBELLISHMENTS: dimensionals
COLORING MEDIUM (if any): copics
SPECIAL TECHNIQUES (if any): 3d project

The next card that I have to show you uses a new set in the very popular PatchPal line by Shawne Arnold called Patchpal Scarecrow. Do you see that adorable little kitty that the scarecrow is holding?? You'll have to drop by some of the other blogs with previews today and see if you can spot him in the pumpkin patch. Too cute!!!

I colored Mr. Scarecrow with my copics and stuck with an extremely simple layout to set him off. Remember, you can always click on the pictures if you'd like to see close ups!

Supplies:
ALL CDSTAMPS USED: Patchpal Scarecrow
CS AND PAPERS: White, Textured Ruby, Textured Saffron
INK: Memento Tuxedo Black, Desert Sand
MARKERS (if any): Copic - E00, E55, R29, Y26, YG63, R02, C1, BG72, W5, E33, YR00, E49, E43, Y17, YG91, YG95, E51, E31, Y21, BG10, YG11, E37 Stampin Up - Ruby, Grey, NQ Navy
ACCESSORIES AND EMBELLISHMENTS: Large Oval Nestibilities, Scalloped Scissor, Brad
COLORING MEDIUM (if any): Copics
SPECIAL TECHNIQUES (if any): Clean & Simple

The last set that I'm previewing today is the Stamp of the Month set called Harvest Hellos. This set is so much fun to work with!! I love both the solid images, and the font of the sentiments. It's a perfect addition to my fall stamps.

for today's card I decided to stamp the images on cream cardstock and cut them out to make a little scene. I used some staples on the sentiment and a deckle edge scissors on my bottom mat to keep things looking "rustic". I have another card that I'll be showing you later this month that is a totally different look. You can't go wrong with this set - and it's FREE with a $50 order at CDS this month.

Supplies:
ALL CDSTAMPS STAMP SETS USED: Harvest Hellos - Oct SOM
CARDSTOCK AND PAPERS: Rust, Kraft, Vanilla
INK: Rust, Pumpkin Pie, Chocolate Chip, Cocoa, Olive
MARKERS (if any):none
ACCESSORIES AND EMBELLISHMENTS: staples, dimensionals, olive ribbon, deckle scissors, paisley cuttlebug folder
COLORING MEDIUM (if any): none
SPECIAL TECHNIQUES (if any):2 step stamping

That's it for me, but don't miss the other designers who are showcasing new stamps today. (You'll find their links on my sidebar.) You might even find a set or two that I didn't preview!!

Don't forget to stop by tomorrow for more peaks!!

Happy Birthday!

This is the epitome of a late birthday card. I forgot to send it to my brother... actually I don't know what his address is since he just moved to a new Air Force Base. So I thought I'd just post it here and email him to come look at it. :-)

So, if you come, Trent, Happy Birthday!!!!

Fall Sketch Challenge Card

Here's another card from the Verve release week challenges. This one was a sketch challenge and I chose to use this adorable little bear as my focal image, especially because I had this cute little pumpkin button from my friend, Cheryl. (Hi, Cheryl!!)

Nothing too fancy, just new dp from SU, some faux stitching, coloring with copics and a few dimensionals to make his hat stand out.

Have a wonderful week!

Blessings,

Tricia

Think Snow!

I got this adorable mini set from Clear Dollar Stamps this week called ...ummm, hang on, I lost the package on my desk... FOUND IT! It's called "Tree Delight Tag" and it's a set of 7 for only $2.49. Can't beat that! The little tree is a single image that I stamped three times to make a forest. I drew in the snow hills underneath them and colored everything with copics. I added little light blue pearls to the sky to look like snow, and sponged the card base with turquoise ink and then stamped the little stars in Palette New Canvas. The colors - by the way - are for this week's Clear Dollar Stamp Weekend Color Challenge. I hope you'll have a chance to play along!!

Thanks for stopping by!

Simply Sparkly

Here's another of the cards I made for the Verve Release week challenge. This one was "bling"... or lots of sparkles, so I used stickles on the flowers and the word Joy and added some pearls. The colors are for this week's color challenge on SCS.

Thanks for stopping by!

Quick & Easy Winter Card

There are some fun challenges right now over in the Verve forum on SCS to celebrate release week. I had just a few minutes tonight so I thought I'd join in. I really wanted to use this adorable Changito monkey that's been sitting on my desk for awhile, so I colored him in the color challenge colors of Pumpkin, Brown & Grey Green and punched him out with a scalloped square punch. The polka dot bg stamp is by CC Designs and the sentiment is Verve. One winter birthday card all ready to send! Yay!!!

Weekend Color Challenge Mojo

Edited to Add... For some reason the colors on this card are showing up much better on my SplitCoast Gallery. You can see it here. Thanks for looking!

This was such a fun card to make! I used the colors from the Clear Dollar Stamp Weekend Color Challenge and combined them with the Mojo Monday sketch for the week... although I did take a *few* liberties. {wink} I see the designers do that all the time, so I hope it's not a problem!

I used the -oh, so cool- '68 Vette that was just released at Clear Dollar Stamps and combined it with some SU designer paper, some "manly" brads that look like screws and some staples, and I topped it off with a sentiment from the CDS set "Cool Ride".

Thanks for looking!! :-)

Kitchen Tilda

If you've read my blog for any length of time at all you'll know that I love these sweet little Tilda stamps, and here is a new one that just grabbed my heart. Her name is "Kitchen Tilda" and I've decided that she is going to be the mascot for our Menu Challenge over on the GraceWorks blog. I put her on preorder right away, but in the meantime, Sharon graciously sent me a few images to play with. Thanks, Sharon!!! I used some different K&Co papers for the background of the card and the Thinking of You sentiment from Verve. Tilda is colored with copics.

Thanks for stopping by!!!

GraceWorks Stamping

One of the prizes that the ladies could earn with the points from the 28 day challenge on the GraceWorks blog was handstamped notecards with Scripture verses. I was blessed to get this beautiful pansy set from Stampin' Up during my month as hostess of our Stampers 10 club, and I paired it with a verse from Verve. All the cards I sent out had the pansy on them, but they weren't all quite this involved. This just happened to be the last one I made and I just used up some scraps that were on my desk. lol!!

Are you interested in taking our next challenge?? September 28th starts the "Like Merchants Ships - Mastering your Menus" challenge. This seems like an area we can all use a little enouragement in, and we'd love to have you join us!!

Blessings!

Whatcha bean doing?

I love this set from the September releases at Clear Dollar Stamps. Wouldn't you just love a Starbucks cup that looks like this?? I love the whipped cream, too. Mmmm.... My coffee from Starbucks is SO sweet, and then I have them add whipped cream to top it off. Can you say CALORIES???? lol!!

I chose my colors based on the Clear Dollar Weekend Color Challenge - Rose, Saffron & Kiwi. I paper pieced my cup with some Imaginisce dp that I had left over from a craft kit and then I stamped the little swirly on it and paper pieced the little heart. (not recommended unless you have really sharp scissors!) I stamped the background by stamping the green saying where I wanted it and then filling in the other words around it. I added a little faux stitching with an Olive SU marker, some sponging with Saffron and layered it on some Saffron-ish textured paper that I found in my stash. The back is done with a cuttlebug folder... that I can't remember the name of right now! :-)

I think I'll also enter this in the Moxie Fab World Fun & Cute contest. Works for me! :-)

Thanks for stopping by! I'm trying to keep scheduling posts for every day or two. I know I got off track last month when life got crazy, so I'm going easy on myself and aiming for every other day, instead of every day.

Blessings!

Happy Birthday Dad

I had a ball making this card for my Dad's 80th birthday last weekend. I used one of the new cars that was just released at Clear Dollar Stamps - the 57 Chevy - and watercolored it. The sentiment is from a Verve set and the fun screw brads are from Gina K. DP is Basic Grey Wassail.

Thanks for stopping by!! :-)

Simon Says Stamp Challenge

I took time today to make a card for the challenge over on the Simon Says Stamp blog. I used the sketch they provided and pulled out a sweet Tilda image that I got from a friend on Splitcoast. I colored her with copics and cut her out with Oval nestibilites, then overstamped her with the "Sanded" background stamp by SU. The dp is by K&Co, and I punched my little fronds with a Martha Stewart punch. "Thinking of You" by Clear Dollar Stamps. Hopefully I'll be back with a Clear Dollar Weekend Color Challenge card tomorrow or Sunday. We'll see how my time goes this weekend!

Blessings!

Stylish Tilda

I've been getting a number of images in the mail from the Express Image Swap over at SCS and I just haven't had a minute to play with them, so tonight I just decided to *take* a minute and make a card with sweet Stylish Tilda. Isn't she adorable? This card is the easiest of easy. I colored with Copics, cut & embossed with long rectangle Nesties, sponged the edges, and stamped and punched the sentiment. (From Charlie's Harvest - just released at Clear Dollar Stamps... I *love* that set!!) There's no ribbon, no bows, no eyelets, no brads, no nothing. And I like it!!! :-) It's kind of an odd size, and I like that too. It's made to fit in one of those "regular" size envelopes that you can get a box of 50 at Walmart for about 97 cents. (3 1/8" x 6 3/8"). I'm all for saving money, so you might see more of this size card in the future! :-)

Thanks for stopping by!

Weekend Color Challenge

Hi all! Have you been over to the Clear Dollar Stamps store yet to snag some of those wonderful new stamps that are available??? What a fabulous release! Today I have a Z-Fold card to show you that I made for this weekend's Clear Dollar Stamps Color Challenge over on Papercraft Planet. I pulled out one of my favorite sets again - Genuine Love - and stamped the branch across the top and bottom edge of a 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 piece of cardstock. Fold the card like you're going to make a regular size card base, then fold back the top 1/4 so the stamping shows. Voila! A Z-fold card! The sentiment is from another CDS set that I love called Wistful Wishes.
Have a great day and I'd love to see your Z-fold card if you make one!!

Blessings!

Tricia
