Angels & Kitties

I have three cards for you today. Two for Angel's birthday countdown (I had to get caught up again!!) and another card using my Pink Cat stamps. My little Halloween card is Angel's sketch #23 turned on end. I really wanted to use the Hedgie Pumpkin stamp, and it fit better this way. I figured the swirlies could look like falling leaves... :)

Next in line is Angel sketch #24. This one was harder for me, but I like how it turned out, except for the uneven rectangle that I punched for the ribbon. Did I mention that I really want the horizontal slot punch??? I colored the first two with my standby - markers and watercolor pencils. I added the hearts to the snowman's shirt with a darker marker.

Finally, I have another Pink Cat card for you. I stamped the solid kitty with Creamy Caramel ink, then used watercolor pencils to shade her, a Celery marker for her eyes and a Chocolate Chip marker to sketch in an outline. The kitty and pawprint were both included with the kitty, so I pulled colors from my BG paper and stamped them around her. My Olive cardstock is stamped with SU's Linen and it's all tied up with some faux stitching, a burgundy ribbon, and - if you look closely under the "credits" - 2 olive brads. Another thing you may notice is that the back fold of the card is trimmed with the scallop scissors. When the card is closed, the scallops show - kind of like the picture.

Just think! Tomorrow is November!! How are you doing on your Christmas gifts??

Pink Cat Mojo

I don't remember if I told you that I'd gotten some Pink Cat studio stamps in the mail the other day... but couldn't find my EZ mount to mount them. Well, yesterday I was looking for some batting for a quilt that I was layering and - lo, and behold - there was a box of stamping odds-n-ends in my quilting tote. Don't ask why.... apparently my organizational skills were challenged the day I packed that tote!!

Anyway, I love this little kitty. Her purse reminds me of the Vera Bradley bags that I adore. The saying was from a Stampin' Up Sell-a-Bration set and it just seemed to fit. AND... this should qualify for Julee's Mojo Monday Sketch. :)

The cardstock is a mixture of many things... SU Barely Banana & Vanilla, Bazzill Light Blue, DCWV Mat Pack Mustard, SU Saffron Print DP

I stamped the kitty with Basic Black and colored her with markers and watercolor pencils. The circles are cut with my Coluzzle, the scallops with my scalloped scissors. The flower behind the greeting is an older SU punch, and the brads are SU's Not Quite Navy.

Very fun card! I hope you are able to be creative today!

Pretty Present

You just **have** to try one of these!! I found a tote on Joann's blog that I just loved, so I followed the link to get the directions for myself. I **love** how it turned out! I didn't put on the handles, cuz I didn't have a 1 3/8" punch to punch the notches with, so I used my small oval punch... only it couldn't go into the center, and after I punched it, I realized that it was exactly where the handles were supposed to be attached. Oh well, I really like it just like it is. All supplies are from Stampin' Up!... the Simple Delights set once again, Chocolate Chip and Olive Classic Ink Spots, Baroque designer paper, Vanilla Taffeta Ribbon, Vanilla Cardstock and Ivory Naturals, and the Word Window Punch.

I'm so excited about this set. I have two sisters who are as elegant as I am whimsical, and this will make a perfect gift for one of them for Christmas!!

Thanks for stopping by!

Almost Embarrassed!

Have you ever had one of those cards that no matter what you did the colors were off when you photographed it?? Uggh. This one really is *pretty* in real life! But the Saffron turned into Mustard and the Lavender turned into Orchid, and the Amethyst turned into Ballet Blue and I can't fix it!! BUT... I have to post it cuz it's for Angel's challenge!!

So here it is. I did it. But I like how the coloring turned out better than the card itself!! I've been using Stampin Up's markers and then shading with watercolor pencils. Oh - and I've been adding texture to anything that's "large and open". Like the tree yesterday and the flower pot today. Just pick a pattern and draw it on with a darker marker. (Ooo, look - it rhymed!!) Here's a close up to see a little better...

Birthday Card Bonanza

I needed to make some quick and easy birthday cards today, both to fill my card box and to catch up on Angel's challenges. So here we go... challenges 18, 19, 20 and 21... in no particular order!!

The first card is for my sister (I hope she's not reading this!) whose birthday is the day after Christmas. I used my Palette of Prints from SU, the Christmas tree from a Studio G clear set, and the Happy Birthday from TAC. I colored the tree with SU markers and shaded with watercolor pencils.

Here's another quick birthday card with Celery DP from SU! The flower is from the SU Mini Catalog set Season of Joy. It's not exactly a Pointsettia here!! :) Same birthday greeting from TAC. I think it was a gift with purchase stamp a few years ago.

The next card uses the Brocade Designer Paper from SU and some more of the accessories that came in my Simply Sent - Simple Delights kit. "Birthday Wishes" is also an SU stamp.

Finally, here's a cupcake birthday card in honor of one of my nieces. The stamp is from a TAC set called For All Seasons, that I just love! :) I colored the cupcake with markers, added a little shine with my clear gel pen sprinkled with Dazzling Diamonds glitter before it dried, mounted it on some Fancy Pants paper and then onto a scalloped (with my scissors) rectangle. The little white dots are from a white gel pen. I used my Paisley stamp on the pink cardstock layer and finished it off with a ribbon from my LSS.

All in all I was please with these cards. They weren't as "fancy" as I've been doing lately, but I got four of them done in an hour and that was important today!

Have a great weekend!

Fall Birthdays

I just realized that I have a LOT of birthdays in November and very few birthday cards made. So... you'll have to bear with me for the next little while, because most of what you'll see will be birthday cards! This card uses Angel's Day 17 sketch as it's inspiration. I didn't follow it perfectly this time, but the basics are all there! The leaves are stamped in Basic Black on Naturals Ivory cardstock and then colored with marker and watercolor pencil with no water added. The pretty corner on the Chocolate Chip cardstock is actually a piece of one of the stamps in Simple Delights - the Simply Sent kit that I got earlier this month. I have loved that kit! In fact, I'm almost out of precut pieces. I'm definitely going to get more River Rock cardstock. It's a beautiful color! The brads are Antique Brass and are also from the kit. The leaves are from Lovely as a Tree and the sentiment is from The Angel Company. I used the Paisley background stamp on the Baroque Burgundy cardstock, and Linen on the Cranberry cardstock. Lots of stamping and coloring, wasn't there! But it reminds me of today - crisp and fall-like.

Thanks for stopping by!

Winter Whipper Snapper

Sorry for the late post, but I've been playing with my new Whipper Snapper stamp. Isn't he cute???? I made a whole bunch of cards with him last night, but I'm only going to post one right now. This one I did with Watercolor Crayons and it turned out... all right. Not great, but nice enough to use as a card. :) My other ones I love! I'm going to enter them in the winter contest over at Whipper Snapper, so I'll maybe post them later. I'd love to get some more of these images. They're so much fun!!!

Have a great day!

A New Look

Do you like my new look? The picture across the top is one that I took before we moved. It's one of the things that we miss most about our home up north, so I put it on my blog for when we get lonesome. Sigh! The other new picture is of me and my wonderful husband of 20 years. Isn't he handsome!! :)

Ok, ok... cards and projects! The first card is for Angel's Birthday Sketch #16. I had to switch it up just a little, cuz I messed up when I pulled a layer off... it pulled a bunch of the cardstock off behind it. Oh well, necessity is the mother of invention, they say!!

My second project was SO fun! The idea for the card box comes from Joanne's blog. You *have to* go there!! She has such fabulous ideas & she's a great person besides. Be sure to check out her directions for these boxes. They'll make great Christmas, teacher, birthday, ... whatever! gifts. :)

Have a great day!

Fraidy Cat & More

My first project today is for Joanne's challenge to "make something that scares you". No - not like Halloween scare... but using something that "scares" you.... cardstock, ink, a new technique... whatever. Well, here's mine. I bought this silly blank journal on clearance about 3 years ago, and have never gotten up enough courage to cover it. I *told* you that I have issues with 3D projects!!! :) Well, here it is. I used two sheets of designer paper that I picked up the last time I was at my LSS. I stamped my TAC Scripture Verse over the stamped off flower from the SU Holiday Mini set, sponged it & dry embossed the edges. I felt like it was missing something, so I cut out one of the flowers from the DP, matted it with the other DP and attached it to the corner of my greeting with dimensionals. I'm going to use it when I blurf each day so I can keep track of contests that I've entered, or tutorials or sketches that I want to do.

This card is for Angel's sketch #14. Isn't it pretty?? (If I do say so myself! lol) I used more of the Soft Sky cardstock that came in my Simply Sent kit and stamped it with the white swirls from Seasons of Joy. I stamped the snowflake image from the set on Whisper White - first inking it with Soft Sky and then touching it up with my NQ Navy marker. I like the "mottled" look it gives. I mounted that on a scalloped circle of DP which I attached to white with Soft Sky swirls. I'm SO glad that I got that set. I think it's worth it for the swirly alone!!

Day #15 is another favorite. River Rock and Baroque DP, and I used a technique that I haven't done for a LONG time... watercoloring with my pastels. My blender pens are all basically dry, but I just dipped the one I had in water and it worked fine. There's a great tutorial for the technique here. My images are from TAC and I used Naturals White cardstock to pastel watercolor on.

Last, and maybe least! - is Day #13. This really was hard for me - and I'm still not sure I like it. My kids do, though, so I guess it will make a good birthday or cheer up card for someone. :) There's lots of faux stitching and sponging on this one, with some brads and a staple thrown in for good measure.

Have you been playing along with Angel's challenge? Try it! It's been so much fun - and.... I'm caught up!!!!!! (At least until I visit her site today....)

See you tomorrow!

Day 12!

OK, I'm only a few days behind now! Here's Day 12 for Angel's Birthday Countdown, and Day 13 is on my desk, just waiting to get its picture taken. I used one of my favorite retired Christmas sets, Joy, and some of last year's Holiday Thyme DP. I didn't have any cranberry craft ink, so, to emboss the ornament, I first used my Versmark pad, then touched it to my Cranberry pad, and then embossed it with Iridescent Ice EP. It gave it a light shimmer... so pretty!!

Be sure to come back tomorrow to see Day 13... and whatever else I get done. Better yet, head over to Angel's site and work on the challenge yourself!! :)

Treats & Counters

I finally added a counter!! :) It's starting at 00000, so it looks like no one ever comes here, but I just learned how to add it! We'll see if I did it right or if it disappears...

Here's my little treat slider for the technique challenge at SplitCoast. I combined it with Angel's Day 7 sketch. They are so easy to make! Especially after this tutorial. Try One!

Wolf Challenges

Here we are on Angel Sketch #9! I may get caught up yet!! I decided to make a number of cards with my daughter's retired wolf stamp set from SU. I thought the Baroque Designer Paper would make a beautiful background and it made the sketch so easy to work with!!

Colors are Old Olive, Chocolate Chip and River Rock. Still no scalloped punches here. I'm considering applying for the Spellbinders design team, just so I could get some of those scalloped diecuts!! :) I don't think I'd have a chance, though.

This card is actually for the Splitcoaststampers SC 146, and WT136. I followed the sketch and then added a piece of wood to finish it off. I used my piercing tool to punch a hole above and below the twig at each end, then used a piece of linen thread to hold it there - tying it in the back. Cool look, huh??

This card is for Angel's Sketch #11 (I'm dreading Sketch #12... I must admit.) I changed it a little since I used 3 images in my center block rather than 4, but I really like how it turned out. I think I'll use this to fulfill one of the SCS Virtual Stamping Night challenges... to make and mail out a card to one of the card drives listed in the forums. I chose Operation Quiet Comfort. Cards are gathered, with personal notes inside, to send to the soldiers overseas who've been wounded. It's an ongoing effort, so I think I might try to send a number each month.

It's All in Black & White

Wow, I didn't think I could do it! I came up with a card to enter in Allison's Black & White Christmas card challenge. I hate using my Basic Black stamp to ink up images that I may use again in lighter colors, so I used my marker instead. Images are from Simple Delights (Stampin' Up!), and Biblical Impressions, brads and vellum are from my local stamp store.
Stop by later and I'll have more of Angel's sketches to show you, but I have to go clean the church now. Bye!!

Style Potpourri

Beware! Today's post is long!! :) Here are a few more cards for Angel's Birthday Countdown. This is the sketch for day 10. And I must admit that I woke up last night with this idea in my head. I love my new Baroque double-sided designer paper. And my Simple Delights stamp set is so fun! But... the thing I cannot believe that I waited so long to get was the mat pack. The paper piercing template is SO worth it!!!!!!

This card is "manly" cuz Angel's husband drew up the sketch. I decided to make this one open in the middle. (See the picture below) Cut your base cardstock to 5 1/2" x 4 1/4", then cut your "card" cardstock to 8" x 4". Bring the two short edges together and fold so there is a folded edge on each side. Harder to explain than to do, let me assure you! Decorate your card as desired!! :) Here's the card opened...

My last card... for right now... is for day #4. It's a little smaller notecard, sized for an envelope that I found in my drawer. The inside says... Just thought you might need a little pick me up. Cute, cute, cute. Hope you have a good day!

Winter Wonderland

Ahhh, don't you love snow????? I got my order from Stampin' Up! yesterday. I'd ordered the Simple Delights card kit, mostly because I wanted the River Rock and Soft Sky ink spots. :) So... here's soft sky snowflakes (say that 5 times fast!!) I stamped the "snowflakes" on a piece of white cardstock and layered it on soft sky and then again on white. I cut a piece of snowflake vellum that I'd picked up at my LSS and attached it with 2 brads from JoAnn's. I attached the stamped piece with staples using Angel's Sketch #5, sprinked glitter on the snowflakes, and then cut out and attached 3 snowflakes with dimensionals. The centers of the raised snowflakes are little gem stickers that I picked up at the grocery store this afternoon! :) I really, really like how this card turned out and I still needed to enter a winter card for the Pink Cat Studio contest, so.... here it is!!
Thanks for stopping by today. I did get one more of Angel's sketches done, but I'm going to save it for tomorrow. I was really busy all day taking my daughter to the chiropractor and buying groceries at the health food store in a neighboring city for my girls who need gluten free/casein free options. See you tomorrow!

Today's Trio

That's right, not one, not two, but three cards to share with you today! I got up early this morning, so I decided to play with more of the sketches for Angel's Birthday Countdown.

For the first card (Day #5 Sketch) I used the little t-shirt from TAC's Special Delivery. I colored it with my SU markers (adding a little stripe on the sleeve...) matted it, and popped it up on a little scalloped rectangle I made with my scalloped scissors. I crimped the yellow strip, matted it on a piece of Pretty in Pink cardstock stamped with a retired SU corner stamp from Sugar and Spice, doodled a bit (which is definately not my strong suit!), stamped and matted my greeting and TA-DAH!! - a sweet baby card for a sweet baby girl.

The next card is day #1's sketch. This one was harder for me. I found some leftover cardstock and diecuts from last year's sell-a-bration Simply Scrappin' kit, so they became my color scheme. After scallop-ing the end of my Celery cardstock, I stamped the Bashful cardstock with Bashful ink, using a retired Gift With Purchase stamp from TAC. (Did you know that you can get double GWP stamps right now?? I need to order. No, wait, I need to have some money so I can order!!) The Celery piece on top is stamped with Linen in Moss and mounted on a piece of Barely Banana cardstock. The flowers are all "self-adhesive diecuts", the brads are from SU's pastel set and the saying was punched with my word window punch and attached under the ribbon with a glue dot. I have *got* to find more of the wide organdy ribbon!!

OK, on to Day # 3. This card makes me laugh!! :) It's just so me right now!! I used two background stamps for this card SU's Houndstooth (on the Green Galore layer) and Linen (on the turquoise layer). The image and sentiment are both retired from TAC. I colored the snail with my markers and used a little watercolor brush for some blending/shading. The little piece of ribbon is from a little stack I got at the Target $1 spot.

Be sure to stop back tomorrow. I have some fun blog candy coming up!!

TTFN!!

Deck the Halls

I love Deck the Halls, don't you??? I sing it year round, whenever I need to either be silly or lose my mind. Speaking of silly, how about this card that I'm entering in the Pink Cat Studio contest?? This is for the sketch challenge. I made some I really like for the sparkly and pink/brown challenges, but I'm having a *horrible* time getting them to take a good picture. *SIGH*

Thanks for stopping by!!

Notes Galore

Are you tired of this set yet? I had just a little of the 12 x 12 sheet left after I made my "quote"-book (and no, I haven't written in it yet!!), so I decided to make a little box of 3x3 notecards for a Christmas gift. I found the paper mache' box at NASCO for $1, and did nothing to it except to sponge a little color. I crimped a band of chocolate chip cardstock and attached it (with my chocolate ribbon) to the inside of the lid. The little notecards are fairly self-explanatory... so I'll scoot, cuz it's bedtime and I've come down with a cold. Uggh.

OH - Susan left a note on my blog asking the name of this set. It's Elegant Notes by Stampin' Up!. If any of you don't have a demonstrator, feel free to contact me. If you order any of the current sets that I've used on my blog, I'll give you a 10% discount! :)

Giving Thanks

My card tonight is for the Angelosity Sketch Challenge #2. I used an Angel Company set for the images and an SU! set for the words. The background is SU's Houndstooth. Each of the little squares and the cardstock that the words are on were stamped with the Paisley background stamp.

Speaking of background stamps, I saw one that I just love on this 3 x 3 set by Valerie. It's from Cornish Heritage Farms, who are unveiling more Thomas Kinkade stamps soon. They are SO pretty! If you don't want to stamp with them you could just use them to decorate your stamp room. :)

See you tomorrow!

A "Notes" Book...

I hardly ever do 3D projects. I just can't seem to make them look stunning like everyone else. BUT... I found this beautiful hardcover notebook with Kraft colored paper (no lines) inside at NASCO for 1/2 price and I just couldn't pass it up. I picked up a couple yards of gingham ribbon, 10 music note brads and a 12 x 12 sheet of music designer paper and *hoped* I could figure out something!!

So... I stamped the treble and bass clef from my Stampin' Up! set onto vanilla naturals cardstock and sponged with Caramel and Mustard to "age the paper. I used an old brass template that I had to dry emboss the corners. The "Notes" in the middle of the page is actually part of the sentiment from the same set. It said "A Note for You". I just used my black marker to ink up the word Note and then added an "s" at the end with my marker. I used my oval punch to make a frame that I could sponge through over the word. After mounting them all, I tied my ribbons and VOILA - done!

I've been wanting a book to write quotes in and I think this will be it... if I can get up enough courage to actually write in it!!! :)

Thanks for stopping by! I may have another post up this evening. I've been working on some cards for some sketch challenges.... we'll see!!

Christmas Sunflowers

What? *GASP* You've never heard of Christmas Sunflowers???? :) Me neither, but I made some from the Pointsettia stamp in the Stampin' Up! Season of Joy set that I used yesterday for my cards. I really wish I could have done a better job photographing this one. It's colors are warm and fall-ish and yummy. Did you notice that the leaves are actually the flower petals? Just stamped in Olive and cut apart. What a fun, fun card!!

Thank you all for leaving comments on my 101st post. So nice to hear from all of you! I hope you'll stop by often. Now... drumroll please...

The winner of the blog candy is ...

(just a second... I have to go check and see if anyone else left a comment...)

#12!! (Per random.org...)

mitchells2000 wrote: Congrats on 100 posts, and I LOVE your cards! I especially like the snowflake one... I'm very partial to snowmen and snowflakes! Thanks for that! :-)

You are SO very welcome!! Be sure to email me your address!!

Now... please, please, please come back tomorrow! I've been working on a fun 3-D project today that I can't wait to share with you!!

My 100th Post!!

Wow! I made it to 100 posts!! So... in honor of the day I've made 3 cards *and* (drum roll, please) I'm going to offer blog candy! :) If you make a comment on any post before I put up my 101st post (which should be tomorrow sometime... but you never know!) I'll enter you in the drawing for the following goodies...

Now - on to the cards!!

These cards were all inspired by cards or sketches on blogs that I visited this morning. I got my first die-cut stamp set from Stampin' Up! this afternoon (They are wonderful! Only be sure to line up the sticker and the image before you mount them... don't ask me how I know...) so I decided to use them for today's cards.

The first card is for Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge. I used markers to color my tree, a little Stardust Glitter Pen on the star, sponged and doodled around some of the edges. It's *so* pretty in real life!

My next card is inspired by this card on Christina's blog. Isn't it interesting how changing colors can change the feel of the card so much?? I used the glitter pen to highlight the snowflakes on the card. It made them sort of silver-y, so they match the brads. So pretty!!

Last, but not least is a card for Julee's Mojo Monday sketch. No, that isn't the SU notebook punch... it's actually a piece of paper ripped out of a cool sketchbook that I'll be altering in a day or two!! :) Let me know if you'd like more details on any of the cards!! And don't forget to sign up for the drawing!!

Rain, Rain...

It rained today. Just a shower or two, but it was pretty and smelled good. I looked for a rainbow, but I didn't see one. So... in honor of the rain, this card is for CPS challenge #34. I have a stamp that says "Sorry to hear you're under the weather" that I'll put inside.

I used an old piece of Positively Pink, some Certainly Celery that I stamped with Linen, and opposite sides of my piece of Fancy Pants paper. The little girl is stamped on Shimmery White cardstock and colored with SU! markers. I used the pastels to give a little color around her feet.

Fun, fun challenge! Try it out!

One Layer Challenge

Here's a quick, quick, quick card for Marie's One Layer Challenge. The polka dot ribbon is actually a stamp, and the snowflakes are sponged through a template. I did add a little bling with brads... is that allowed?? :) Very fun challenge, Marie!!

Going Pink

I just noticed that my last three posts all match my new blog colors of Pink for October. How fitting, then, that this should be a Thinking of You card. I have a dear friend who will be having surgery next week for cancer. Maybe I'll have to actually mail this card...
This was another card done using the pastels. I used the Poppin' Pastels technique for the flowers on the bottom layer, and then crimped the pink layer under the greeting. I used my favorite SU! greeting set... Elegant Greetings... (I think that's what it's called), cut the edges with an SU! decorative scissor, and sponged a little pink to make them *pop*. The wide organdy adds a little touch of elegance.
More later!!

Vintage Bear

OK, in honor of World CardMaking Day, I pulled out some of the first cards that I made that I still like. How fun! So - here's my Birthday Bear card. I know the balloons and hat are from Stampin' Up!, but I think the little overall bear was from my local stamp store. I only had naturals cardstock back then, and a black ink pad and the pastels. I have a *little* more now!! :) LOL But, it can be done with limited supplies & still look cute. Be inspired! Be creative! and Be a blessing to someone today!!

Christmas in July

Here is my card for the CPS challenge category Christmas in July. I found this wonderful pink Fancy Pants paper and decided to use softened Christmas colors of Pink & Celery, rather than the normal dark red and green. The present images and words are all from The Angel Company. I just love that word set. Doesn't it just say it all?? The most important things about Christmas aren't the presents!

Some of my favorite touches on the card are just little things... paper pieced presents, skewed squares, and a little tree skirt for my presents (minus the tree, of course!) made by stamping an oval and cutting around it with my scalloped scissors.

Enjoy! and Merry Christmas!!

p.s. Since it's World Card Making Day... check back often today! I'll be posting cards throughout the day, some fancy - some simple, to help inspire you as you craft! :)

Oh Wow!!!

Big news today! Remember that quilt shop hop that we went on last Saturday?? Well, we got a call last night that my daughter had won... the GRAND PRIZE!!!!! :) That's $500 worth of quilting stuff... and she doesn't really quilt.... :) Needless to say, she's coming with me for every shop hop in the area!!!!! I'm so - so - so excited. I think she is a little bit too. At least one of the shops has yarn that she can use one of the gift certificates at. But now, she'll probably start quilting and I'll just have to watch her use the whole basketful of goodies.... Just remember - it's not mine, it's not mine, it's not mine. :)

Anyway! On to the card. Today I pulled out one of my oldest TAC sets called The Fruit of the Spirit and paired it with TAC's Mulberry Meadow paper collection. The little tag layer behind the image is actually a diecut that is included in the collection. I used my watercolor pencils and a paintbrush to color the flowers, and a marker to color in the words. The swirly ribbon is also from the Mulberry Meadow collection and the wide organdy is a leftover from a retired SU spool. Did I mention that I *really* wish they still carried the wide organdy? It was so elegant!

OK - off to breakfast and blog surfing. See you tomorrow!

Thinking of You

I pulled out my flowers today... something that I could do quickly and easily, with no coloring required. I just *have* to work on the cross-stitched stocking that I'm making for my daughter for Christmas, so I'm posting early and maybe - just maybe - that will give me the extra time I need this afternoon. I'll let you know...

The colors in this card are one of my absolute favorite combos. More Mustard, Ruby Red, Cameo Coral, and Old Olive. If you haven't tried it, you should!! They're so rich and pretty and fall-ish. I also love my paisley background. I'm not really a paisley type of person... hmmm, I guess I do have a Vera Bradley bag... so maybe that makes me an "elegant paisley" person. :) Whatever!

The one background stamp that I would love to have is an old one called Hand-Stitched. If you are reading this and happen to have one in your stash of lonesome stamps, let me know! :)

I've just finished my blog surfing for this morning and came across this plea for cards for a sweet set of twins with cancer. There's even blog candy attached! Please, please, please visit Andrea's site and help all you can. I'll be mailing this card out to her today...

Singing Flower

I was going to try to follow a sketch today, but it just didn't fall together. Maybe because I really wanted to use this particular image. It's another image from the April Stamp of the Month from TAC. I colored it with markers, sponged around it with a little Bashful Blue, and used my word window punch to make a little tag with the words. The card is Bazzill paper - so there's a little texture. The little baroque-ish motif that I stamped on the side is from an older SAB set - maybe Noteworthy?? Using it today made me really think that I might enjoy some of the baroque sets in the catalog. I'm really considering getting the Simply Sent card kit that has that look. They're all on sale from October 4th-8th for 20% off! Plus if you order one from me during that time, you'll get free shipping as well!! :) What a deal!! I love the ones that have ink spots of the in colors. I really, really love my ink spots!!

Thanks for stopping by! See you tomorrow!
