Fraidy Cat & More

My first project today is for Joanne's challenge to "make something that scares you". No - not like Halloween scare... but using something that "scares" you.... cardstock, ink, a new technique... whatever. Well, here's mine. I bought this silly blank journal on clearance about 3 years ago, and have never gotten up enough courage to cover it. I *told* you that I have issues with 3D projects!!! :) Well, here it is. I used two sheets of designer paper that I picked up the last time I was at my LSS. I stamped my TAC Scripture Verse over the stamped off flower from the SU Holiday Mini set, sponged it & dry embossed the edges. I felt like it was missing something, so I cut out one of the flowers from the DP, matted it with the other DP and attached it to the corner of my greeting with dimensionals. I'm going to use it when I blurf each day so I can keep track of contests that I've entered, or tutorials or sketches that I want to do.

This card is for Angel's sketch #14. Isn't it pretty?? (If I do say so myself! lol) I used more of the Soft Sky cardstock that came in my Simply Sent kit and stamped it with the white swirls from Seasons of Joy. I stamped the snowflake image from the set on Whisper White - first inking it with Soft Sky and then touching it up with my NQ Navy marker. I like the "mottled" look it gives. I mounted that on a scalloped circle of DP which I attached to white with Soft Sky swirls. I'm SO glad that I got that set. I think it's worth it for the swirly alone!!

Day #15 is another favorite. River Rock and Baroque DP, and I used a technique that I haven't done for a LONG time... watercoloring with my pastels. My blender pens are all basically dry, but I just dipped the one I had in water and it worked fine. There's a great tutorial for the technique here. My images are from TAC and I used Naturals White cardstock to pastel watercolor on.

Last, and maybe least! - is Day #13. This really was hard for me - and I'm still not sure I like it. My kids do, though, so I guess it will make a good birthday or cheer up card for someone. :) There's lots of faux stitching and sponging on this one, with some brads and a staple thrown in for good measure.

Have you been playing along with Angel's challenge? Try it! It's been so much fun - and.... I'm caught up!!!!!! (At least until I visit her site today....)

See you tomorrow!

So glad you played for a chance at Fraidy Cat Candy! Your journal (and all those cards) came out great. What a great idea to make a blurfing journal! I lose track of where I saw things all the time! Thanks for playing!
